First time to Stanley Park. I really enjoyed the bike and walking paths. Very scenic and lots of places to explore. Lots of birds and wildlife. I enjoyed the local fruit! The fruit vendors were nice and the food was delicious.

Nice Beach, there were lots of people out exploring and a ton of balanced rock sculptures. it’s rather narrow compared to other beaches, but still nice.

A great beach for exploring sea creatures! I remember the days when I was sent here during school field trips, and I would find dungeness crabs under rocks, sea shells in the sand, and baby sculpins in tide pools. I came here again and I managed to spot the first two items on the beach, but I did see schools of finger sized smelt fish swimming near the shore. The place is still healthy and full of life. If you’re interested in swimming, you can either swim in the ocean or swim at a heated outdoor pool. There’s also a concession stand nearby that sells pretty decent fish and chips too!

As soon as I arrived I had a memory rush. 22 years ago I rested my butt on this beach after riding my rental bike along the seawall at Stanley Park on a visit to Vancouver long before I moved here. This is busy beach and picnic area just south of the pool. However, last evening it was the location of an outdoor film event. We gathered in the clearing on the grass with our mini barbecue in front of the inflatable screen and speakers. Restrooms are nearby and a concession stand also attracts a lot of people in good weather. This would not be my choice of places if I just wanted to sit with my thoughts and meditate, but it’s a lively, distracting and seemingly safe area to take a break at.
