STOPSELLINGDAYOLDCAKESSLICESANDBAGELSPLEASE! 3rd location doing this! North Van, West Van and now the Drive!!! When its overly dry as a bagel we can tell. When its soggy and sticky and smells eggy even for a cake slice we can tell. Expensive crap and old smelly is not the standard for any coffee shop much less yours! If its day old, they put that in a pile that says«day old» Few seats, SLooow line, Expensive — short coffee and cake slice(lemon loaf) nearly $ 5!

Hello, I usually do not write reviews but today I was very frustrated after my visit to starbucks at this location. Today they advertised their special menu frappucinos which included cookie dough, coffee crisp, Reece’s pieces, and so on. I ordered the cookie dough and coffee crisp frappucino, expecting them to be regular frappucino pricing. Instead, they charged each ingredient separately(cookie, shot of espresso, milk, etc). They also failed to tell me that you can only get it on a grande or venti size. The bill came up to be $ 16 for two grande drinks. By the time I realized this, I did not want the order anymore but the girl said they already started making it and can not cancel the order. I did not even make the payment already and they already started making the drinks. I think the workers should be advising people that the price would be different and not just hide it. Or STARBUCKS should be advertising the price beside the drink specials. Any consumer would assume the price of them would be the price of the normal frappucino. I will not be returning as a Starbucks regular customer anymore.

What can you really say? It’s a Starbucks — they’re designed to be basically all the same so you feel comfortable in any one. I had a gift card to use up so when my internet went down at home I went to work here for a while. The staff were polite and quick and it was mostly empty when I was there so I had the pick of seats inside. Luckily there was one in a sunbeam which was nice as there were no available seats outside. My iced decaf Americano was fine but I did add milk to soften the flavour a bit. Their new boulangerie pastries look good but definitely not the healthiest! I did notice they offer gluten free cookies now, which is good for celiacs. I’d rather hit up a small mom and pop, but having a gift card made this the right choice for me that day. The wifi is free and there’s no password, which helps.

I will be honest… I feel guilty coming to this Starbucks on the Drive when there are so many mom and pop shops on the Drive. I often get gifted SB cards and it is easier to use here while walking the drive. Also this place has specifics to my dietary needs without making me feel like a freak. Sometimes when I go to the other coffee shops I get the weirdest looks for my order. Customer service is friendly ’cause it is made of locals who understand the Drive culture which is more comforting.

Are all Starbucks the same? This one while serving Starbucks great coffee, is definitely short changing people on other fronts, which is surprising considering how many excellent choices people have got for coffee on Commercial Drive. As another reviewer pointed out, very few seats inside, and only a couple of token seats outside. If you are looking for somewhere to soak up the Commercial Street vibe, you could make a few much more welcoming choices in the area. I’d give this one a miss.

Nice friendly staff in a small Starbucks in the middle of The Drive. The location is great as it is right in the middle of The drive where you can find any kind of shops while digusting your Latte. This café is nice and clean and you feel welcome. Love the patio outside for the summer time.

Decent Starbucks location — it is what it is, and they do it quite well. It was a quiet moment so the cashier helped me work out a new summery drink that works for my current cleanse, and it was ready pronto, whereupon I enjoyed a convenient table next to a wall plug for my accoutrement, which(like me) needed a jolt of energy. We’re both feeling much better now.(BTW I like calling it «accoutrement» because then I can pretend for a moment that I am not its slave) Decent amount of seating, good view out the windows for people-watching, yummy(if predictable) beverages & snack selection, clean washrooms and friendly, efficient staff make for four stars in my book.

I was in a rush this morning, yes, but really being patient… I finally got my darn drip coffee and the guy took forever to ring it in(JUSTTELLMETHEDAMNPRICE!!!) and then he did and as patiently as i could, waited for my change, slooooowly… …then he threw my change in the tip jar. Seriously.

The Commercial Drive area is jam packed with some of the most amazing coffee that this city has to offer. Authentic Italian joints like Café Roma or Joe’s pepper the street and serve up some rich, thick, crema topped goodness. Places like Prado Café, Continental Coffee and JJ Bean have not only great coffee, but also awesome ambiance. Suffice it to say, if you love coffee — Commercial Drive has got your back. That said, like almost all streets in Vancouver, Commercial Drive is home to three very different Starbucks. Despite my sick sort of love for this chain, I’m glad there aren’t more. At East 1st, right on Commercial Drive, is the area’s best and biggest ‘Bucks. There are lots of comfy chairs and sofas to loiter on, and the location, a big old heritage house, offers up beautiful views of the street. The staff is friendly, young, and not quite as intimidatingly hip as the other Commerical Drive baristas. This is probably the only Starbucks on the Drive that’s really worth lingering in.
