The best store for board games. Not only the prices are very reasonable(a lot better than all the other local game stores), but the staff is very friendly as well. I recommend checking out their site.

Starlit Citadel has become my go-to website for any tabletop games that I have been looking for. Their staff is always so nice, and willing to help out with any questions. The best part is that I can order things online, for online prices, and pick them up in person! Their selection of games is pretty amazing, and they are very willing to try to help you out if you have any requests. Every month they also have an open house where you can show up to play some games, and shop in the actual warehouse. I’m a fan :) I wish the pick up hours were a little more flexible, but hey, they already give so much that I can’t complain.

This is the best of both worlds, an online shop with online prices, with a local pickup location! I pay the lowest price around, and don’t have to wait for shipping! They have used games as well as a huge collection of new games(with more items stock more than other places I’ve checked). Their staff is very friendly, and their website is great. I just wish they would be a little closer to the skytrain(they’re about a 10 minute walk from Broadway City Hall station, or about a 5 min walk and 15 min bus ride from VCC Clarke. I took one way there from work, and the other to get home afterwards). But the detour on my way home from work is totally worth it!

Starlit Citadel has been a place I’ve been meaning to visit for the longest time. Since they started their YouTube channel, I have been following their reviews of board games that may interest me or titles that I would be willing to pick up. Over that time I kind of saw the staff at Starlit to be YouTube celebrities as I watched their channel grow. I made my first purchase a short while ago and the experience walking into their store was amazing. It was actually like meeting people you admire for the first time. I’m 23 and at that moment I felt like I was 5 walking into a candy shop for the first time. It was great. Starlit Citadel is now my go-to place for board games for several reasons. –Pick up from their Vancouver store is hassle free and simple. –Price and availability is usually a lot cheaper than almost all other board game stores in town. –Weekly Wednesday deals are pretty good at times. –Staff there shares the same passion as most board gamers, making them extremely friendly. –If there are any problems, even if it is a dent on the box, they will usually compensate for it. For all your board game needs, definitely check out their website and their YouTube channel.

Starlit has hands down the best board game prices in Vancouver, their local pickup option saves shipping costs, and the very friendly staff come out to sponsor events and play games in the community on many occasions. They are very responsive to inquiries online and their turnaround is fast enough that you can often order online and pick up the same day after confirmation. Also look for their sales, especially the dings & dents — the games are often barely hurt, but can be good discounts on already great prices. I haven’t been to their new location yet, but I imagine it’s a little less grungy than the last one — though the last one always made for a good story.

If you are looking to buy your games online, look no further than Starlit Citadel. They have an excellent selection, good prices, and most importantly — truly amazing customer service. If that isn’t enough for you, they have their Wednesday sales, their dings and dents offerings, and they even sell used games. From my very first order with Starlit, I have been nothing but impressed. When I order items in stock(which is almost always an option), my order always ships the next day. Orders are packed very well, and I have never had an item missing. A couple of excellent examples of them going above and beyond: When a new release item I had ordered(A&A 1914) came to them with a dent in the box, they immediately contacted me, offering me the option of waiting for the next copy from the distributor, or taking the dented item with an appropriate discount. Both the speed of contact, and the options were greatly appreciated. When a particular, hard to get item was delaying an order that had a game I was hoping to use at my birthday party, they severed it from the order and shipped it with a later order. And if that isn’t enough for you, check out their game reviews or the owners blog…

This is, by far, my favourite«local» shop for boardgames. The prices beat Amazon and Chapters more often than not, even when you factor in delivery charges if you’re not close enough to pickup. To top it off, they offer rewards points for each purchase which can be used to save a few dollars on future purchase. * I live on Vancouver Island; this shop beats the pants off any local shop.
