Cheap, filling, not particularly authentic(but who cares at the prices?) type of place. I grab their burrito with the chile verde sauce sometimes when I’ve overdone my usual downtown lunch spots, and the portions are gigantic. It won’t wow you, but it won’t disappoint you if you’re hungry.

Anything other than the pulled pork is bland. Chicken and beef are not recommended. The service is fast, but the staff is a bit dismissive apart from the owner/manager who likes to chat a lot.

Pretty sweet lunch time spot in the downtown core. I usually get the Frisco which is both filling and tasty. This time, I opted for The Original Wet. The cashier asked if I had tried the sauce that’s on it before and showed me a picture of what The Original Wet looks like. I said I think I had tried it before and placed my order. I definitely never tried it before. I think she was trying to warn me that The Original Wet is not a fan favourite. Honestly, it wasn’t that great. But their hot sauce helps make it that much better — and hours later, I’m still full. Which honestly is usually the biggest issue for me with burritos(I’ll eat it and be hungry again less than two hours later). I’ll stick with the Frisco from now on. Also, this place is great for catering! My office orders from here quite often. Just call and put your order in a day or two ahead of time and, if you’re close, they can deliver. They’re always on time and very polite.

I LOVE Mexican food!!! Ordered a chicken burrito salad. Really, really bad. Chicken is flavourless, everything is watery. Not good value for the price. So bad… I threw it out.

The décor is awful, the name is terrible and the general perception is they really don’t care. The food is mediocre. It isn’t bad, but it certainly isn’t good. It exists until Chipotle or another like Chipotle decides to take all of its locations. The world doesn’t need steamrollers and it’ll actually be better off without it. steaming may be moderately healthy but it sure as hell makes food bland the way these guys do it. I only go here, because I work nearby, and sometimes you’re lazy.

I was really disappointed this week when I ordered a large tortilla soup and half chicken salad. When I got back to my office and opened my containers, I felt ripped off. The salad which was close to $ 7 contained no lettuce at all, and only smidgens of veggies, plus a few pieces of really nasty-tasting, dry chicken. The tortilla soup was basically a creamy gooey blob with no texture and no spice. All this for $ 14? I think not. Despite the fact that this place is convenient to where I work, I won’t be going back.

I have worked in Downtown Vancouver for many years now. For some reason I always walked past this place when going for lunch. About a month ago now I decided to give it a try and have been hooked ever since. I like the service there, first and foremost. They really want to make you happy with your meal. The man at the till, I believe to be the Manager is very inviting. The quality of the subs I have found to be exceptional. I highly recommend going for the deluxe, with everything in it. Even when they look busy I’ve never had to wait very long. They also cater to those people who have a gluten intolerance so do not be afraid of trying something out here if you do.

I was here this morning and got their«super deluxe» breakfast burrito. Super deluxe indeed. The burrito was white flour tortilla, bland eggs, bland mushy potatoes, and overcooked, brown ham. My friend who went with me ordered the same thing and said that he enjoyed it, but I’m skeptical if that is even true. I barely finished half of mine before deciding that it wasn’t worth the calories to eat something I can’t even pretend I’m enjoying. I’m not surprised this place was empty when we got there. I probably won’t be back.

Not very good, not terrible, but not good. Chicken was legit, no fat, good flavor. The salsa was terrible. The ordered the chicken burrito deluxe, the best part of the burrito was drowning it in hot sauce to mask the flavor. Service was good though, it was fast, and the place was clean.

I wish we had this in California because it was such a nice twist on fast food burritos. Ordered the Deluxe Veggie and devoured it in less than 10 minutes. The sauce on the side is a nice twist to the simple yet flavorful ingredients. I want this now!

I’ve been to steamrollers a few times when I am ravished. Not the best burritos in town, however, it’s healthier than some of the other options. 1 burrito is very filling. The prices are decent for what it is. The customer service has always been hit and miss with me. I am not feeling the bright orange deco.

I like getting burritos from steamrollers not because they’re the best tasting burritos, but they’re wrapped in an aluminum foil so the temperature of the burrito doesn’t go cold quickly(great during the winter season and you have to head back to your office with your food), they use good quality fresh ingredients, and just one will fill your stomach up. My favourite is the deluxe chicken with Spanish rice, pinto beans, jack cheese, lettuce, salsa, and garlic yogurt sauce. Their burritos taste even better with their signature hot sauce! The sauce is hot enough to make your face sweat if you add lots of it!

This place is 5 seconds from my work. Simple and fresh ingredients. Easy to substitue everything and make exactly what I want. Veganise everything. Hot Sauce. Guacamole. Hot Sauce. Guacamole. Amirite?! The staff here are the best part of the experience. Steamrollers is a chain so you know exactly what you’re getting at each one. Buuuuut the man that runs this joint is a treat. He is so friendly and helpful and full of information… I think he genuinely wants you to enjoy your meal. And I like that. ** P. S Busy as hell at normie lunch hour. If you can get in around 11 – 1130 you’ll own the place

Don’t eat here, really, just don’t. Save yourself the 8 $ and go find a pile of rubble to consume, because a pile of rubble has more flavor than any of the 3 items Ive ever purchased at steamrollers on hornby, and im just gonna go ahead and assume that every other steamrollers is just as bland and inspiringly frustrating for me to feel the need to review it poorly on a website. How do restaurants survive serving such terrible food? Dry meat, no flavor, didnt ask if i wanted hot sauce on it, no extras like sour cream or salsa, just tepid beige balsam wood garbage. you’re welcome.

The only item I order at Steamrollers is «The Tommy». Everything else is slightly above average and the meat tend to be a little dry. With the wet burritos and dishes, there’s more flavor in each bite. The Tommy has garlic yogurt sauce and cheese slathered on top of the steaming hot burrito. The sauce and cheese gives this dish a nice tang and is my favorite part.

Being from California(we love mexican food) I plan to name my future ginger baby ‘Burrito’. This place creates nothing close to resembling a burrito. Read the previous reviews… if you see«whole wheat» or «deluxe veggie» you know you did not find a good rito place. Steamrollers — call Charlie in San Mateo, CA. he’ll help.

Boom, boom boom boom, I want you in my room… was playing as I sat down to enjoy my fat veggie burrito. They must have had on the best of Dance Mix ’90 because the Venga-bus arrived just after that. I have to admit that my burrito did seem kind of bland without the excessive hot sauce I poured onto it. I had the super deluxe veggie burrito because when you’re a veggie you may as well just pile on all the veggies you can, I ain’t never seen a fat person who ate lots of vegetables! My burrito was filled with black beans, cabbage, carrots, cukes, and rice rolled into a green tortilla shell, pretty deluxe indeed. I’m sure I’ll be back, but with only three veggie burritos that are all pretty similar, I may not rush in tomorrow excited to have found a new lunch spot. But at least I have a new location to add to my rotation of lunchable places.

This is my favourite healthy lunch spot! I kinda overdid it a few weeks ago so I am on a break but I assure you all. I will be back when the bean cravings set in. I’d like to state first of all, that the staff are very knowledgeable here about all of the ingredients and about vegan/vegetarian diet restrictions. This makes ordering such a breeze because you hardly have to explain anything, and they even made sure to mention once that the soy cheese is NOT vegan(contains casein), just in case I wanted to know. Nice! It’s very very quick and just as delicious, not too pricey either. My usual is the #2 «Deluxe Vegetarian». I order it with a whole wheat tortilla and brown rice. No salsa though, I’m not really a fan of theirs but don’t take my advice on it, because I am soooo picky about salsa it’s almost painful. The garlic yogurt sauce is a lovely touch. I always enjoy my meals here. And they have bottles of hot sauce at every table. :) Definitely recommend it. And the line goes very quickly so don’t let it dissuade you from getting a delicious and healthy lunch.

While probably not terribly authentic, Steamroller’s burritos are big, cheap, stuffed with rice and beans and meat and whatever sauces they can get in there, and served for quick and easy eating. Everything seems to come as traditional, deluxe or super deluxe — the difference being how many kinds of sauce you want. I go middle of the road with a Chicken Deluxe Burrito. The atmosphere is clean, but again not too exciting. Long tables accomodate the mostly solo diners who pack in here at lunch time, lonely businessmen and secretaries, eating burritos and checking out the free Metro papers scattered around. I just like my burrito as an in-the-neighbourhood treat. Kind of an embarrassing tryst I’m having with lunches here at Steamrollers.
