I guess I should have ventured out and tried something more than just beans and cheese. It was ok, but I’ll stick to my 800 different Mexican options in Arizona, USA. Oh, and the chips were STAAAAALE.

I moved away from Vancouver and boy do I miss steamrollers. The key to this place is knowing what to order. The regular burritos are just ok so go with a wet one! I recommend: *The Frisco with pulled pork(or vegetarian) *The Tommy with chicken *Or for something lighter go with a junior burrito with pulled pork and a side of tortilla soup The tortilla soup is unreal. I’ve tried to replicate it with no success. Always fast service and the staff might be the friendliest in town. Miss this place!

Had the«Super Deluxe» breakfast burrito. It was a good size and had some weight to it.. good value for the price $ 5.25. It tasted okay, but there were a few things that were disappointing. Much of the bulk was the hash brown filling. Except there was no brown. It was really just steamed potato. I get that steamed potato is healthier, but don’t list it as hash ‘brown’ on the menu. I was also put off by the bacon. Apparently also steamed. It was chewy and damp. Come on. Steaming bacon doesn’t make it any healthier than pan frying which actually renders away most of the fat. At best you can say steaming washed off all the salt. But let’s face it, people who order bacon are looking for salty crunchy goodness. Chewy-wet bacon. Think about it. Ew. I don’t mind this burrito, but it doesn’t excite me either. When you call something«Super Deluxe», it needs to be super, and deluxe. Steamrollers did not deliver on this one.

Steamrollers is probably my favourite fast food joint in Vancouver. The prices are reasonable and the portions are good. It definitely gets a little crazy in there during the lunch time rush but other than then(breakfast or dinner) the service is prompt and quick. My go to for breakfast is the super deluxe breakfast burrito which, despite it’s name, is not the breakfast burrito with the most fillings. It’s really good, with scrambled eggs, potatoes, and your choice of bacon or ham. I always go with the bacon and get them to put some hot sauce in when the make it. My go to burrito for lunch or dinner is a chicken Frisco. The lettuce, salsa, chips, cheese, and the burrito itself all work well together and it’s not super horrible for you like most fast food is. It’s covered in the tortilla soup, a green sauce(guacamole type sauce I think) as well as some hot sauce. This location also has the Belly loyalty program which I like and on your birthday they give you a free burrito on your birthday(which means I definitely go for the Frisco!)

Awesome food and customer service. Free Steamroller on your Birthday with ID. I love the Robson location.

The worst. Just because you put something in a flour tortilla doesn’t mean its a burrito. I would call them weird steamed wraps at best… also, steaming them makes them too damp, tasted awful… who wants carrots on a burrito? Another BC failure at reproducing«Mexican» food. I would not go back.

Pretty Meh all around. Everything felt damp and the tacos and burritos feel less ‘wet’ and more sloppy and flavorless. I dont want to be mean but a friend of mine explained it best with soapy dishwater burritos and Id have to agree. If you want a cheap causal burrito you can come here but I would suggest changing your mind to something else good the street and restaurants nearby have to offer.

Get double meat. $ 2 is not that much more money when you consider that you’re getting double the meat. It will change your perspective on how the food is consumed and how the meal is experienced. I won’t say that I experienced the beatific vision but getting double meat at Seamrollers today really put me in a good mood, and after all, isn’t that what we all want, to be in a good mood. For the record, I had the Frisco with double meat.

I just ate lunch at Steamrollers and it was delicious. I ordered the Tommy burrito — it was tasty but next time I will absolutely be trying the Frisco burrito. Just like it is advertised, it is the ultimate! Covered in tortilla soup with tortilla chips on the side. Do not get me wrong, the Tommy burrito was great — it was also covered in sauce but the presentation compared to the Frisco was lackluster. I cannot wait to return in the next few days for some more sampling.

Mal eine neue Idee Burritos zu steamen anstatt die Tortillas zu braten und mit top-Zutaten zu füllen. Geschmacklich und qualitativ keine Höchstleistung, aber die Mitarbeiter waren frisch und freundlich.

«Vancouvers best burritos» That’s a warning sign. Chipolte is a mile above in what you get for the money and flavor. And that’s a nation wide chain. Steamrollers must have steamrolled all of the flavor out of their food. So bland, so inoffensive. I had the frisco. The salsa and chips was ok. The beef had decent seasoning but no spice, and it was drowned out by the rice and the flavorless beans. It looked nice. It just had less flavor than a truck stop frozen burrito. I’m not kidding on that one either, there was something odd with the Frisco wet burrito I had, there was a temperature ramp where some of the beef was hot but towards the end the beef and everything else was cold. I just wanted some flavor. a little bit of spice… I won’t be returning. 2 stars for cleaniless/presentation/service, that was fine.

my co-workers love this place and to be fair, I had a burrito there once and it was okay, nothing to write home about. but I was hungry and it’s close so I thought I would try it again. they had some sort of special dish — Asian stirfry on shanghai noodles. being a noodle lover, I thought I would try it out. to start, the vegetables consisted of a bit of steamed broccoli, a few pieces of raw kale and some lettuce. the pork(I had a choice of beef or chicken as well) was SO salty and looked like canned tuna. not very appetizing. black beans on the dish seemed out of place but I guess they needed some filler. maybe a quarter cup of noodles hiding on the bottom. noodles are practically free. come on people. everything was lukewarm or not warmed at all — peanut sauce was okay — sugar makes everything taste okay, right?

This was my first time stopping at Steamrollers. Honestly, our motivation was because of their«free burrito on your birthday» deal(PS: they didn’t verify the date). I ordered their deluxe chicken burrito(~$ 10). It came back from behind the counter in just a couple minutes, but was pretty tasty. The chicken wasn’t dry, and the burrito was wrapped decently(it was sort of loose, but in the end, it never fell apart). I will likely return to try their wet burritos. For spicy fans, a heads up that their hot sauce they put out on the tables isn’t very spicy. As for service, the guy at cash was very friendly and helpful when we first walked in. He offered suggestions after asking us our preferences. But this isn’t a full service restaurant, so interactions mostly ended after we got our food. One thing to watch out for is that the first two cups I grabbed for water were both dirty.

I come here maybe once a month. I like their burritos! I like that I can get a traditional beef burrito and only intake 399 calories(versus a similar one at Chipotle for 835 calories). That’s their major selling point — plus their cute staff! I think the difference between a traditional and deluxe is cheese and the difference is $ 1. Service is friendly and VERY quick. In and out in 5 minutes. Their hot sauce is delicious. Not sure what else to say except I do agree that Chipotle burritos are better tasting, so if you don’t mind the calories, go there instead. But Steamrollers is a great option for those watching their calorie intake and still have their«bad» cravings!

Steamrollers is a good place to get healthy and reasonably filling fast food, but you do have to compromise flavour. The appeal is the low calories — only 500 for a chicken deluxe, according to their website, and therefore about 300 for a bowl. This in mind, you get a good meal for the calorie count. But sadly it’s just not that flavourful. You absolutely must add hot sauce, or one of their new sauce options, to boost the taste of these burritos. Also, they go cold very quickly(apparently steam isn’t a great way to make hot food). By the time I get to my house two blocks away, I have to put it in the oven to heat it to an acceptable temperature. Surely this is something they could fix somehow?

Me and my boyfriend are inlove with Steamrollers, it’s conveniently down the street from us for when we’re too lazy to cook. Our typical burrito is traditional pulled pork on a spinach wrap. I love that it’s healthy, convenient, good price, and consistently delicious! The staff are always friendly, too. I have been there multiple times and have not had a bad visit once.

Because it was down the street from the hotel I was staying at during my last YVR visit, I decided to try it out. The deluxe veggie burrito was just OK, maybe a notch or two above the frozen burritos I buy from Trader Joe’s. What really upset me though:(1) the add-on cost for a side of avocado — $ 4 and some odd cents for a teeny-tiny container??? I’m pretty sure I saw whole avocados at the Granville Market for about $ 2.(2) the number of chips that came with the side order of chips & salsa(maybe 13); just floating in the large plastic to-go container and being sad — like me. I will give them bonus points for their gluten-free options and cheese alternative(soya), but that does not go very far when everything else is quite lackluster. Here’s hoping they get their stuff together…

Great corner location, open late. Been here for decades it seems. Quite spacious in a rectangular way. Lots of eye-candy seating along the windows. Quite healthy, no oils, all steamed and fresh ingredients. Accepts all cards. bonus star for doing delivery.

Do NOT be fooled by the convenient location. Let my misfortune be a warning. Steamrollers is LITERALLY the WORST burrito place I’ve been to in my LIFE. I’m from out of town, so I’m strolling along Robson street, doing some shopping. I see Steamrollers, and luckily for them, I’m starving, so I decide to give it a try. After minutes of just hopeless staring at the menu, the worker advises me to get a wet burrito, especially because I’m huge. «They’re huge.» Sure, okay. Why not? Not only that; I ordered The Frisco, which, in their description, says«THEULTIMATE!» Yeah. Ultimately, it was a HUGE disappointment. Once she rolled up my «burrito» and gave it to me, I THOUGHTITWAS A TAQUITO. This thing is so damn small that I was obviously still hungry after devouring it in literally 3 bites. ONTOPOFTHAT, I honestly feel that I could have made the same quality taste in my own kitchen(and I never cook.). Just really nothing special and super small. If you’re looking for quality and/or quantity, this might be the wrong place for you.

everything is steam cooked, prepared fresh. The taco soup is prepared from their corporate location on Burrard, their pulled beef brisket done locally in every store over night in a crock pot. Beans are hand separated to remove stones, rice, chicken and beef recipes prepared fresh and steamed. Salsas, guac., etc. are also done fresh. Fresh; steam. whole food. And, infinite substitution options. 3 kinds of wraps(spinach, flour, whole wheat) beans– black or pinto rice– spanish, basmati or other chicken, beef, or veggie. regular, dlx. or sup. dlx. yogurt, garlic yog. or no yog. gauc? hot? xtra hot? etc. if you don’t like what you ate– you didn’t order it your way.

Ehhh. I’m sorry, but these are just not tasty burritos. Now, I will be the first to admit that, coming from California, I’m a bit of a burrito snob. And I’m not a fan of ‘healthy burritos’ — give me the tortillas with lard, globs of cheese and tons of guac, but I digress. The cardinal sin in burritos is having a burrito that isn’t properly mixed — that is, all the cheese is on one side, you get a center full of cold sour cream and veggies. That a good burrito does not make. Both times I’ve tried this place, that is what I ended up being served. Not to mention, the chicken is incredibly over cooked. Someone should steam roll this place into a real burrito making joint!

Na ja. Mehr fällt mir dazu kaum ein. Ich habe zu ähnlichen Preisen schon deutlich bessere Burritos gegessen. Personal war freundlich und Service schnell. Qualität des Essens war wirklich nur sehr durchschnittlich.
