In one word: Fail! I needed bags for my vacuum cleaner. Found this shop with an online search, called them, gave the make and model of my vacuum. «Yes, we have them in stock». Drove across town, went in the shop and asked for two packs of bags for my [make, model], pointing as I did so at the very same vacuum they had on display. They put two packs on the counter that looked different than all the ones I’ve ever bought before, and in response to my double-check they said«It’s the same, no problem. Anything else?» Yes, as a matter of fact: I don’t especially like this vacuum, and I’ve been thinking of replacing it sooner than later. What might they recommend? «Oh, maybe one of those», the guy said, making a lackadaisical pointing motion in the general direction of an assortment of vacuums. Um… OK, there are a lot of vacuums over there, how would you suggest I pick? «They’re all pretty good». A few more rounds of this; they seemed utterly uninterested in selling anything to me. I’d seen what looked like a hot prospect on their website, a sale on a particular vacuum that looked like it might be just the thing. Did they mention it? They did not. Eventually, in a sort of Hail Mary, I asked about it specifically. «We don’t have any of those in stock», the guy said.(Oh really? What about that one right behind you, sir, front-and-centre on your show floor with a big«SALE» sign on it, and a big stack of boxed ones behind it?) Fine, I give up. For some reason you don’t want to sell me a vacuum cleaner. Silly me, expecting any such a thing at a vacuum store. Got home, carefully opened one of the packs of bags(with a straight knife, not by tearing) and found these jokers had sold me the wrong bags. Not even close, just plain wrong. Had to wait over the weekend to do anything about it. Today I drove across town again(Whee! I love bucking traffic and wasting gasoline and time!) and plunked the bags and my receipt on the counter. «Hi. These aren’t the right bags for my [make, model]. I’d like to return them and get my money back, please.» Guy says«They should work». I pull out my phone and show him the pictures of what came out of the vacuum versus what he sold me. He starts rummaging around under the counter, sounds like he’s picking through packs of bags. Goes over to a wall of bags and eventually finds the right ones(whaddya know, they had them in stock all along… apparently they were just too careless to do the very simple job of matching bag to make/model the first time I came in). Comes back to counter and says«These are the right ones, they cost $ 2 more. Ummmm, no, let’s try that again: I would like to return these and get my money back, please. Guy says«But you opened this pack of bags.» I say«Right, and you’ll notice I did it carefully just in case, which turned out to be a good thing, because they’re the wrong bags. Which is not possible to see without opening the pack, because it’s not see-through. Know what else I did? I came in with the make and model of my vacuum *and* I pointed to the very same vacuum on your shelf when I asked for the bags. Now, please process the refund.» Guy shrugs and asks for my card, processes the refund, and says«OK». Excuse you, «OK»? That’s it? I’m not looking for grovelling or tears, but a simple«Sorry about that» was due, and would’ve probably gone at least far enough to convincing me to go ahead and buy the right bags from you despite the inconvenience and waste you put me to and the careless indifference you showed when I said what amounted to «Hi, I’d like to spend several hundred dollars at your store». Nuts to these clowns. I hope Amazon kills them off.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough for both vacuum repair and purchase. I bought a stick vacuum there and the owner — great guy — said if anything went wrong not to bother going through the manufacturer’s mail-in tedious process; just bring it back here. Well, it did — and I did. Seems the battery was faulty. They replaced it right away, no cost, no problem. Some time back I had the same great service with a vacuum repair. So great to find a mom-and-pop type place with knowledgeable, decent people at the helm.

Almost a certainty once I’m able to get over the fear of lugging the actual wall unit in the garage, been there since 1985 lol, imagine all the bugs but I digress. Explained to owner Bob about the weak suction and he broke down the rates: $ 40 for labour and either $ 200 for new motor or half that for rebuilt, appreciate his honesty. A lot bigger and nicer than that corner one by Joyce. Commented that we got pretty good use from the motor, and lucky that the electronics still work, which would be more expensive. He looks and sounds honest, in the retirement area.

I’ve actually been here a few times to get bags for my old vacuum and to check if anyone has dropped off a well used but still an awesome condition Dyson. Once you have a dyson the world is your oyster. The guys here are really nice. They tried to fix my old vacuum that I nicknamed R2D2 but no luck.

My vacuum broke. It’s a Bosch vacuum, and Bosch doesn’t sell in Canada anymore so parts aren’t available and are hard to source. This place not only fixed the vacuum, they fixed it for $ 68. They also had me give an upper ceiling of what I was willing to spend on parts before giving me before they started so that I could decide whether a repair was worth it.

THISPLACESUCKS. GETIT I can’t think of anything to write regarding the physical properties of a vacuum, sadly. I’m going to ruminate on this, maybe hit wikipedia. PS. As the cleaning supplies got my stuff real clean, I’m giving this place 4 stars!

Why do I need an industrial mop for my less than 900 square foot apartment? Because I’m anal retentive, it’s as simple as that. This store is a great place for neat freaks like me. They’re mostly a wholesale store for janitorial supplies. They supply major hotels and downtown offices with their cleaning needs, which means the store is full of industrial grade products that will clean almost anything. They also have vacuums, vacuum supplies, and do vacuum repairs. I walked in and told the store clerk I wanted a real mop, not one of those cheap sticks with a sponge attached that you can get at the supermarket. She showed me several different kinds, there was one that cost over $ 60. I was tempted to get this one because it was light weight and looked like it would tackle any mess, but realized that it was too much for my tiny apartment. I went with a middle of the range mop. I’m happy to report that I just mopped my floors and they are so clean that now I can eat off of them.
