$ 50 for a 12-month membership, it’s a great deal! And the location is very convenient for UBC students. It’s my primary climbing gym since I live on the west side and other climbings are kinda far away. Most staffs are helpful and friendly. You can always ask them to give you a catch if you don’t have a partner. Besides the main wall, they also have a crack machine and a hangboard. However, this place is fairly small, they only allow 20 people in at once, so you might have to wait outside during rush hours. Holds and ropes wears out surprisingly fast due to heavy use. Recently, they started to replace worn rope more often than before, but the new ropes seem to have sheath slippage issue. Because all the staffs and route setters are volunteers, the schedule is affected by the availability of those volunteers, but it’s mostly consistent. Also, you’ll not see many new routes during the semester. New holds become polished and covered in chalk after a month or so.
