Of all The Keg locations I’ve visited, this one is always my favorite. The restaurant is very new, with beautiful modern décor and paintings. Not to mention, the service here is always exceptional. I came here on Friday with family. We reserved a table, but a few of us were running late, so we had to push our reservation back. The hostess here was very accommodating and friendly, and there were no issues with our request at all. When we arrived, they greeted us immediately. And we were seated in a semi-private booth on the second floor(what a nice surprise!). I wish I remember our server’s name, because she was such a sweetheart! She offered us more bread and butter spread, and kept checking on us throughout our entire meal. I ordered the Pistachio crusted salmon, which was out of this world. I almost teared up when I had my first bite! The salmon was so fresh, and was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes was super creamy, and a great pair with the salmon. The portions were huge, so sadly, none of us had room for dessert. Another great experience at The Keg. Will come back again soon!

My husband and I had a gift certificate for the Keg, thus the visit. We were seated in the lounge right away, staff was friendly, our server even gave us a bit of a discount on our salad we ordered. My husband had the steak, which was good, as it usually is here. The veggies were awful — tasted frozen, and were barely even steamed or warm. I had the chicken with brussel sprouts. My dish was not awesome — brussels that were boiled and just drowning in oil(or whatever liquid was left on them), the chicken was the smallest breast/drum i’ve ever seen in my life. Not very good value for money. The upside — we shared an iceburg wedge salad with the blue cheese, and that was the best part of our dinner.

I actually came here for Dine Out but essentially the items on the Dine out menu can be ordered from the regular menu as well. Appetizers: –Baked Garlic Shrimp(4⁄5): You get a total of 6 shrimps baked with cheese on top and a side of brioche. The shrimp along with the melted cheese was super. The brioche was on the dry side and was in need of the garlic sauce from the shrimp. –New York(3.5÷5): The king of steaks as it says on the menu. I didn’t think so. Seems like any normal steak done right with roasted peppers and green bean on the side. We had the twice baked potato which tasted spectacular, not just because it has bacon in it. –Prime Rib(3.75÷5): This is the first time I’ve given such odd rating per dish. This is because I did think the prime rib tasted so much better than the New York steak when it was served. But during the course of the meal, it cooled down and I didn’t want to eat anymore. Served with horseradish and red wine jus. Didn’t like either of those. Again a side of twice baked potato was awesome. –Billy Miner’s Pie(3⁄5): Huge slice of ice cream cake with an oreo base topped with almond slices and chocolate drizzle. Taste like mass produced ice cream cake. Didn’t like it and didn’t see what’s the hype about it. Pretty disappointment. –Cheesecake(3⁄5): Also tasted like mass produced cheese cake. Like the ones you can get at the supermarkets. Didn’t like this one either but still liked it more than the BM pie. Service and ambiance was good. I’d give extra points for that. The food was just average and I personally think steak at Cactus tastes better.

Food: 5⁄5 Service: 4.5÷5 Décor: 4.5÷5 Price: 4⁄5 Not the best steak can get in town, but with this price, the keg definitely the best choice. Garlic Shrimp, French Onion Soup, and garlic cheese toast also my favorite starters. New York Steak I think even better then Hy’s and gotham. Billy Miner Pie almost a must to have for the dessert. Overall, the Keg will never let you down.

We were looking for a nice steak house to end our vacation with, this place was recommended to us by some locals. The initial impression is that this place is pretty high class, it looks nice, dimly lit and staff are very professional. The menu was typical steakhouse menu, however we decided to go with the special for the night which was a 12oz bone-in fillet with veggies and a a baked potato, a salad starter, and dessert to share. I ordered my steak medium, and it was good, a little over done but overall it was a little bland. Steak was not very juicy or flavorful, sides were dull and average at best. The highlight of the meal was the dessert(Billy Miner Pie). great way to end the meal and our server was great. The atmosphere is a little«want-to-be» high end, but its more of a fine-casual dining experience. If you’re looking for a decent meal at a decent price this is a great spot.

Last few times I’ve been here has left much to be desired. The manager is great and the ample supply of hostesses are friendly, but rest of staff needs training. Male bartender(s) need attitude adjustment. Female servers need to be more attentive and come around more often. I’ve had a few issues with food, always rectified by manager. Last visit, the server was hardly ever around and we had to continuously get up to speak with hostesses to either send our server around or pass on our orders to the kitchen. Absolutely ridiculous on a chill, 30% capacity sort of night. Might try the new location in Coal Harbour.

First visit to this location and it was a very pleasant experience! The prime rib dinner and mushroom stuffed chicken breast were both nicely presented and prepared exactly as ordered. The ambiance was great and for once, the noise level was manageable — we could actually carry on a conversation without yelling at each other. The bar area was extremely loud however but fortunately the dining room is upstairs from there. We’d dismissed the Keg years ago because of price, mediocre service and food and the noise level. We were very pleased this time and we’ll be back.

I honestly don’t get all the Keg hype. Up until this weekend, it had been at least 7 years since I set foot in a Keg restaurant, and all I could remember was that it was pricey, and that the garlic mashed potatoes were really good. The atmosphere at this location was alright– I liked the low-lighting, but found it rather loud. I had two cocktails over the course of the night; The Keg old fashioned and the Keg Manhattan. Both were on the sweeter side, and to me were nothing like the classic versions of these drinks(at least in my experience)(I know, I know, they were called«Keg ____». But still, you expect some resemblance to the real thing). I was underwhelmed, and at $ 12 each, I really did not want to be underwhelmed. The dinner itself was also just meh. I ordered the New York Peppercorn steak, and though it was cooked well and as I ordered it, I got the feeling that they just coated the steak in whole peppercorns and then cooked it. The pepper took over, and I ended up scraping most of it off. The sauce the steak came with was cold, too sweet for me(and I love sweet! Just not on my steak!), and I felt that it was not very complimentary to the steak. I ordered the garlic mashed potatoes for a side, not really knowing if there would be any veggies served with the steak. Sure enough, there was a sad little piece of red pepper and a handful of green beans on my plate when my dinner was served. The veggies were under-cooked, and seemed like they were given very little thought. I had been pretty stoked about the potatoes, but when they came they were not even warm and looked like they were unceremoniously slopped onto my plate. I’m not the kind of person who cares much for presentation, but when I’m paying basically $ 40 for a plate of food, I expect it to be cooked properly, served warm, and not just slapped onto the dish. A little finesse would be appreciated at that price. Overall, the experience was just… meh. By the time the gratuity was added to our bill, with two dinners and four cocktails, my husband and I were looking at $ 150. No appies, no dessert, just some mediocre cocktails and some mediocre food. I will say that the staff were really on the ball with taking orders and serving drinks for our large group, and they were super friendly in the process. Points for that at least! Needless to say, I won’t be going back to a Keg for another 7+ years.

Dined solo at the bar. Great ambience, delicious food and even their cheapest wine tasted great! Staff was perfect :)

Great prime rib as always. I almost don’t need to write a review because the Keg is always so consistent. Great service, great food, but never cheap. It’s around the corner from my condo, so I’ll definitely be back.

A group of friends and I originally went to the St. Regis Bar but they could not fit 15 of us so we went to The Keg instead for a few drinks on a Friday night. The sleeves were on special for $ 4 as it was happy hour, we had a bunch of beers, a few mixed drinks and bottles of wine for the ladies. Service was great even though the place was full of clients. We also ordered a couple plates of Nachos which were absolutely delicious, especially the guacamole and salsa which arr dreadfully awful at many places I’ve tried it at before. The only complaint I have is that we ordered a round of tequila shots and the tequila tasted a bit watered down. We will definitely be back for our next get together.

Had a company event here and we had about 60 people invited. The Staff were not bad. There were times the waitress forgot to bring me my drink but this is near the end of the day. We were there from 5:00 till 10:30pm. So I am guessing she was tire. We were assigned with three waitress to serve us. We did let them know we have 60 people coming(this doesn’t include people showing up suddenly we out confirmation) and for some reason they gave us only 2⁄3 of one side of the bar. They were expecting all guests would sit down. We did mentioned why there are people(not from our event) sitting at the bar. Also note that on the other side of the bar it was empty. As well they were aware that this is an Alumni Event and its a networking social event, which meant people would get up and mix and mingle. As well this is not the first year we had it at the Keg. So they should be aware to keep our area clear. So of course the place got too crowded and the people at the bar got annoyed and left(probably because they constantly got bumped into. I find the manager had lack of experience in dealing with big group. Last year, we had a rope that sectioned off the event from the restaurant and this year we didn’t so we had random people walking through the crowd looking for a seat. Bizzard. The food was ok and the drinks are not bad. Interesting how I ordered two amerato sour and both looked very different but tasted the same. One with lemon and one with orange. Weird. We had steak and potatoe appies, steak sliders, ahi tuna tiny cups, bacon macronni and lots more other things. Food is a thumbs up. Service was ok but with the above mentioned exceptions.

The best steak I’ve had in years! The service was attentive. The steak was amazing — and cooked medium Chicago style, something most other places haven’t even heard of or won’t attempt. Delicious!

Its my first time at this location, we came here for dinner after church in downtown. The ambiance is relatively nice with dimmed lights. We were seated in the upstairs section in a quiet corner. Server was prompt and friendly. Taste and quality of my steak was normal, nothing special and price range is fair. They gave us free dessert as one of the steak was overcooked but i do feel that It is always guaranteed customer satisfaction at the Keg.

These guys(The Keg) just have a great formula for service, and training… I pretty much always get a good consistent experience from every Keg I go to. Is the food the greatest? No… but it’s pretty darn good. For the $$$ and the value, a very high high rating. If I’m even feeling mildly like going for a steak dinner… this chain is a safe bet.

This happened on Tuesday, Feb 3rd. Service from the hostess: 0 stars(I’m not going back to this location because of her.) Service from our waiter: 5 stars Food: 5 stars(The Ahi Tuna tartare was amazing!) I called a day prior and made a reservation for dinner for two at 9pm. I was asked if it was a special occasion to which I answered yes to. I was also asked if I wanted a seat at the dining room or the lounge. I specifically stated that we wanted a seat at the dining room. When my boyfriend and I arrived at the restaurant, the hostess said that business has been slow that day and that they were planning to close the dining room early. My reservation was at 9pm and the dining room is supposed to be open until midnight. She made it seem like it was busy in the dining room to which I found at later that there were only 2 tables being served at that time. She kept on trying to make us sit at the bar. After reminding her 3 times, that I made a RESERVATION for the dining room and NOT the lounge, she finally showed us our seats at a table in the dining room. On the way up the stairs, I told her that it would’ve been nice to get a phone call that pointed out that the dining room was not available since I ALREADY got a call earlier that day to confirm my reservation. An apology would have been appreciated. At this point, even a «Oh really?» or a «That’s too bad» would have sufficed. However, this hostess responds with«That’s okay». She acted as if I’m the one that’s supposed to be apologizing for the restaurant’s inability to accommodate a reservation that was already made. «That’s okay?» That’s not okay. She should not be working in the service industry.

Food: 3⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Ambiance: 5⁄5 Came here to celebrate a friend’s bday. I ordered the Oscar Sirloin medium rare but came out to be more of a medium. The quality of the steak was mediocre(slightly chewy with some fat trimmings still left on). The twice baked potato and the Bernaise sauce was nice, however the veggies were too oily. Service was excellent and the space was roomy — great for bigger groups. Overall, I’m not surprised by the quality of the steaks. Last time I was at the Keg, I was probably 10 years old and I haven’t been back to one since. Plenty of other great spots around Yaletown, but hey, it wasn’t my birthday!

Why, oh why did the Keg take my favorite Creole Chicken off the menu? That was literally my only reason for going to the Keg since I don’t eat steak. I made a reservation for a Saturday night but when I got there they had no record of my reservation. It even displayed on my phone but not their system. Weird. Anyway, this place was not super busy and there were quite a few empty tables for our foursome. Now back to the Creole chicken. I asked our waitress and she told me the chef could probably make it for me. Yay! My sister in law was also in desperate need of it, and it came out about 99% the same as I remembered it. Kudos to you, Keg chef! We also dined on the cheesy bread and those super delicious crab stuffed mushrooms. I must find a way to recreate those at home! Service was fantastic. Attentive and friendly. I also really liked the dark comfortable ambiance of this Keg. I’ve never been disappointed by the Keg, and this one didn’t fail either.

Came here with my brother and two cousins for a midday drink and some snacks at the bar. Bartender was extremely friendly and a great conversationalist. We had the prime rib sliders, garlic shrimp, and bacon wrapped scallops. All were pretty good. Their honey beer was quite good as well. Two things that were plusses for me. We were able to charge our phones at the bar as they had a portable charging station for patrons. We actually left two ipads behind by accident, and we were able to easily pick them up a few hours later. Honest and classy establishment.
