Really wanted to try this place but due to their nasty attitude, I highly doubt they’d be seeing me again. We went at around 2:45pm and the place was full but got our names written down at the top. We were told that our table is being cleaned and we should wait. We stood there and a server came up to us with a stern voice, hands swinging in the air, «No waiting inside. You gotta go outside and wait.» Mind you, it was raining outside and there wasn’t even a line up and what was with the hand gesture??? No way am I coming back!

Rodrigo’s overall rating: 9⁄10 Everything was perfectly cooked, down to the perfect runny yolk, paired perfectly with the onion, the only thing keeping it from being totally flawless is my wish for another egg, I could’ve even handled an up in price to make it come true. Julie’s overall rating: 10⁄10 Pancakes like this deserve nothing less read the full review here

What a treat! Go for the food not the décor! It’s in a rapidly changing but still slightly seedy part of Vancouver. There’s a great Italian place across the street and a fabulous meat market two doors down but I digress! The easiest way to describe the food is ‘eclectic’ The star of the menu seems to be the pancakes and pulled pork with Jack Daniel’s maple syrup. The popularity is well-deserved! The pancakes are fluffy and delicious, the pulled pork is yummy and the syrup… well, just bring me the bowl! There’s a slab of pork belly confit and hash browns in case your carb load isn’t complete! Their sandwiches and lunchtime features are also dynamite and their prices are very reasonable. We tend to go at odd times but are told there are times when it’s crazy busy with huge lineups. The waiter who served us every time we were in there was cute and very efficient!

Love the warm and inviting atmosphere and the friendly servers. They made sure we had our cups were full of water and asked if we needed condiments etc. I ordered the Super Trucker which was super filling; it included 2 pancakes with crispy bacon and pulled pork on top, 2 slices of bread cut in 4(choice of wheat or rye bread), potatoes and eggs. We did however waited a little long for our food. Overall, food was amazing and service was great. I would definitely come back!

The food is always rich and delicious. The service is on point. The ambience leaves a lot to be desired especially more recently due to the wet mold smell that is surely only to get worse. I was told they are looking into a new location, which most likely means a larger lease for them and higher prices for us. Gonna hold my breath, both literally and figuratively.

3 years later~ I finally got my arse end back in the Red Wagon– and the coveted window table no less! Absolutely delicious– they have some great staples– best home fried potatoes, and their banana pancakes were awesome. It was busy, but no lineup– sorry but I never stand in lineups. Weekday mornings are a good time as it’s not as busy. Service was great, our server was lovely and really efficient. Worth the hype after all…

I always drove by but never got to go in, but its always tickled my curiosity. Finally the day came where I was taken here for my birthday yesterday. The line up is a little unappetizing, but it wasn’t as long as anticipated. You can tell that they have perfected the waiting last as they were able to flow through quite quickly as well, not to mention they were handing out free beignet samples to hold the line over which is genius if you ask me :) Once we were in, we were created and seated quickly. It is a very cozy, casual inside. We ordered the venison special, the pulled pork pancakes and the pork belly breakfast. The pulled pork was pretty amazing, the perfect balance of pancake, sweetness of the maple syrup a d savoryness of the pulled pork. Not to mention the added birthday candles. And the pork belly my friend had… a-maz-ing. By far the best pork belly I’ve had in the city. The perfect softness and texture, and the flavor has definitely had time spent on it, as you cannot help but juat sit in the flavor of the belly, it will make you swoon!/ I’d definitely go back

Pancakes, fluffy and moist, perfect crispy bacon, juicy sausage and really great service. My husband had the pulled pork pancakes which he really enjoyed of course. He was also a fan of the $ 5 caesar. I mean, who wouldn’t be a fan of a $ 5 caesar? We don’t live anywhere near this area, but will probably go again and again. We went on a Saturday morning at 9:30 and there was a line already, which was definitely not fun, but it only took about 30 mins to get seated. The second time we went was a Wednesday at around 1 in the afternoon and the place was a little over half full. Very accommodating to kids, They had a high chair for our little babe and crayons for her to try.

Wish I could give this place a 3.5 instead of a 3. This place has huge line ups for a legit reason, the food is quite Good. Inside of the restaurant truly isn’t glamorous and patrons walk somewhat through the kitchen to get to the washroom facilities however the staff are fairly attentive and the food gets to you in a very reasonable amount of time if you know what you wanna eat while waiting outside of the restaurant. The pancakes taste great and the Caesar was good too. However, Not the best breakfast food I’ve ever had in the lower mainland and due to the long wait times I probably wouldn’t come back however it was undeniably a good experience.

East van restaurant that serves up a mean brunch and regularly sports a line up out the door. The prices are $ 15+ for brunch, portion sizes are sufficient to quell the pangs of a hungry diner, and flavours are bold. Lots of nearby residential parking and also paid street parking right out front on Hastings. Service attention is correlated to capacity(which is usually high) and always friendly/helpful. The Red Wagon is a must try for the Vancouver brunch scene. Expect a line up, even if you arrive before opening time!

Went here for brunch after a morning of hiking and damn, was it good! We had to wait about 20 minutes in the middle of the afternoon, but thankfully we weren’t hangry or in a rush(I like to think of lines as a good sign too). Had the crisp pork belly with sunnyside eggs, hollandaise, salsa verde, sourdough toast and homefries. The pork belly was the perfect amount of crispiness and tenderness, and wasn’t too oily. Everything else accompanied it well. I also sampled my friends’ meals– a special of the day(a chorizo omelette) and the bbq brisket– those were delicious too. Will definitely come back here for those infamous pulled pork pancakes!

Quality breakfast menu with different specials each week. Good serving size with very good quality food. Everything is cook perfectly with really good pricing to match(approx. $ 13). The only drawback is that the space is tight due to high volumn of people. Go for: one of the best places in town to eat breakfast Dont go for: this one time had a pork belly dish and it wasn’t up to par with what vancouver has to offer. It was a weekly or daily special

Wasn’t a huge fan when I came here a few years ago, but have to say my mind is totally changed! The super trucker is the best variety of breakfast and the pulled pork pancakes are delicious. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are perfect for the heavy eaters in your life. The wait can be long for brunch, so I usually have a granola bar to hold me over. Free street parking too! Get the super trucker and you won’t be disappointed.

No big deal. They kept 20 of us waiting outside when there were 3 tables open inside. Seriously, it started like that… Oh, the food was good, but not even close to justify the lineup. After, it felt like I was used as the live sidewalk advertising. Background club music so loud we had to scream over our brunch. Sadness. I won’t be going back. the Red Wagon is not even a diner, greasy spoon, joint, no fabulous label here — just ALL hype. Disappointment.

Friends in Montréal recommended the Red Wagon before my trip, so I came to check it out on the last day of my trip, before heading to the airport. We arrived 10 minutes before doors opened and there was already a line up outside. I did a quick count to make sure that we could get a table and waited patiently. The food was great, the coffee tasty, service friendly and prompt. The highlight for me was the thick piece of roasted pork belly. Those pancakes topped with BBQ pulled pork were also surprisingly delicious. Five stars.

I like restaurants that have something they are known for. Something that will give me a reason to come in and try something different or even an old classic. The Red Wagon is known for their pulled pork pancakes with Jack Daniels maple syrup. Sounds a bit kooky, but hey I’m adventurous and like trying new foods. They were very flavourful and quite the serving! Three large pancakes with pulled pork layered in between. As good as they were I couldnt finish them but that doesn’t mean they weren’t tasty! The place is small and it is super busy regardless of when you go. Definitely don’t bother going on the weekends. I went on a Wednesday and there was a lineup. Soif you have a weekday off, get up and head doen there for some hearty filling breakfast that will leave you satisfied.

We have been to Red Wagon about 5 times and have been very pleased with the food and service. The coffee is great as is the food. I have the Truckers every time I go… not sure one can to top it. Bring your appetite and come early to avoid the line ups. Looking forward to returning.

I can’t say this place is really special but on TV they made it like a big thing. I always see a long line up during breakfast time. But for dinner there is hardly anyone. We didn’t have to wait in line. I ordered the burger with avocado and chedder cheese. As well ordered the pull pork sandwich. Luckly I am sharing it. The pull pork sandwich would be too much if I had to eat it all by my self. The burger was ok. Not too special I have to say the server is very friendly. I have to say she really knows how to start a conversation. Food I would give 3 stars and service 4.5 stars.

I had supper this evening with a friend at the Red Wagon. It has been featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-ins & Dives I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich(minus the slaw) and fries. It was okay. The bun was nice and soft but a bit too charred. The pulled pork could have used more sauce. Leanne had breakfast for supper with the Trucker breakfast. It looked good! I’d get that next time.
