Was looking for a suit today; Tip Top didn’t have any jackets of the right size(I’m tall and lanky), but I was very impressed that the salesman, without even being asked, went on for a several minutes in detail about other stores we could try. He even named some specific brands at other stores that might fit me better. Since we were very short on time, this was extremely helpful and ended up helping me find a suit that fit well.

Went suit shopping today and haven’t finalized the decision, but I would say in comparison to the other shops we visited, Robert really went out of his way to provide outstanding customer service and advice.

A friend of mine got married this weekend and experienced a shirt situation an hour before showtime. I called in a panic to make sure they had the shirt he needed and proceeded to race like a maniac from the east side. These guys offered to stay open as I only had 15 minutes to get there. It was ready and waiting at the counter as I flew in like a tornado and the girl raced to the back to iron it for me! So rad! Thank you! Exceptional customer service. I will definitely be back during a less stressful time in life.

I didn’t buy anything here, but I might in the future. I would never have thought to shop here if it wasn’t for the window display that caught my eye as I walked by. I found inside a store, one that has been around since 1909, one that I’ve known my entire life as a place for suits, and one that I think my Dad might have gone to. Upon being drawn into the store, I saw that their target is a much younger one now. I’m still not sure if I would buy a suit from here, but I would definitely go for some other purchases like coats, belts, and shirts. They seemed to have a good selection at pretty reasonable prices, and the cute and friendly staff will definitely bring me back again. 22⁄30 Unilocal 30 in 30

Have only made one purchase here. I got a Simon Carter French cuffed shirt(on sale of course). The shirt has a nice tapered fit. I would expect this from a Simon Carter design. Quality wise is where it falls down. The woven cloth was thin for what it was. I was not pleased, but that is not the fault of the staff. That was my fault for not looking closer. The staff were very friendly and willing to help. Personally, I don’t buy suits from here.

I felt like getting a belt since I forgot mine, and I could use another one anyway, so I swing by here. There was a good sale going on — cool. Their selection was nice and looked good. I found a nice inexpensive one not marked on sale and check out. The lady who’s been helping me rings it up — Oh, it’s on sale! Not sure why she wouldn’t know what’s on sale or not, she seemed like she’s been there. It was ok and staff seemed friendly.

Had a great experience here today… I’m not one to Unilocal about retail for some reason… I generally reserve that for food… but the fiancé told me I should really put down something. I’m looking around casually for a suit for our wedding reception. We’ll be getting married in the future in Kyoto, Japan, and while the ceremony will be done in kimono’s at a shrine, the reception afterwards will be more North American traditional in a western style restaurant… hence the suit. It will be warmer there than in Vancouver, so I was looking for something lighter coloured, and definitely lighter weight(I’m a hot person… so a tie and jacket usually get me almost to the sweating point… I’m definitely a t-shirt and jeans/shorts kind of guy). So… we went to Moore’s to look around for something at a good price, and fitting all those criteria… and there wasn’t one too badly fitting some of the criteria(a little more than I wanted to pay… but at 2 for 1… I’d get a bonus suit for some other occasion). Not in a hurry to buy, so decided to look at Tip Top and then maybe Dunn’s if there was time left. Went into the Tip Top, and was casually greeted by the staff, and let know that I should ask if I needed some help. I’m sure they’re on commission, but the first thing to turn me off of a store is a pushy sales person that doesn’t let me up for breath… such was not the case here… it was a really nice blend of help, and a laid back approach. The staff member that ended up helping us through our search was Julio… great guy, with great patience and great customer service skills(hence Junko’s insistence that I write a review). He helped without suggesting too much out of the way for us, and he listened carefully to what we were looking for and took to finding the best solution they had for what we were looking for. He didn’t try to push us to more expensive options than we were looking at, and didn’t push to add huge amounts of ‘extras’ to the purchase. We ended up leaving with exactly what we wanted, and at a price we were comfortable with, and with a good feeling. Overall, that’s about as much as you could ever hope for in a purchase. Previously… I’d generally steered away from Tip Top… not for any reason specifically… but after this, I’d definitely go back to THIS location. Great job guys!
