When we discovered that our favourite Golden Sparkle Restaurant had been replaced by Top Island we decided to give it a try and we were glad we did! We ordered from the«Choose Your Own Combo Meal» menu C1. Cod Fish & Tofu Hot Pot was delicious. Tons of fish and lots of tofu. Highly recommended. C32. Beef with String Beans in Black Bean Sauce. Lots of flavour with this one and the beef was nice and tender. C35. Deep Fried Pork Chops with Peppery Salt was perfectly prepared with amazing amounts of slivered garlic on top for those who love garlic. Free(¼) Chicken. This is a free range chicken served chilled with the ginger green onion sauce on the side. Very good. Forgot to mention that a complimentary soup as well as a simple dessert is served with the combo. We are already planning the next visit. Beef Brisket with Radish Hot Pot(C4) will be on the menu along with Deep Fried Squid with Peppery Salt(C9) and Vine Melon, Cloud Fungus & Pork Toro(C45) are a few that have caught me eye.:-)

Some things change, and some things change constantly. Another new restaurant in this location. Boneless Chicken with three kinds of mushroom. Can’t go wrong with 3 kinds of mushroom. Pic: Delicious. This one had me wanting to lick the plate. But I believe it would have been impolite to do so while my honey was in the middle face-swimming on the plate. Oh wait, that didn’t actually happen… Malay pancake with curry sauce. Pic: What can I say about malay pancake(aka roti godamba) that I haven’t said before. These roti are things of beauty. If I could make these myself(which I’m planning on learning) I may never have to leave the house again. Well, except to get ingredients of course… Simple. Delicious. How could something so basic, be such a delight? Decent service
