Vancouver Curling Club

HURRY HARD!
(Ok, I didn’t actually get to say that… so I’m putting it in my review to make up for it.)
Curling is pretty fun. This place is located near QE park, and it’s very easy to find. There’s free parking on the lot. There’s 2 floors in this place, with the rink being on the first floor, and the second being a large open space for gathering. There’s even a fully stocked cash bar.
It’s really cold inside the rink (I was totally under dressed), so dress in layers as you will warm up once you start playing. There’s these neat ‘shoe-​cleaning’ machines where you have to clean the soles of your shoes before you enter the rink. We learned some basic skills, and got to slide around on the ice. It’s all about strategy and teamwork. There are so many technicalities that go with this sport, and every little bit can change the outcome. The spinning of the stones, the angle in which you push the stone with. it all matters.
Friendly people who work here are also great teachers, and provided us with a fun filled afternoon!
