I wanted to wait a week to see if my opinion changed. Nope! The lights are still Yay! I am quite used to this light show off my patio. They make me feel like I am in an episode of Cops. And… «What am I gonna do when they come for me?» Hide under the bed. Duh!

Love seeing these lights from my home in Kitsilano, I think they were the first thing to really draw me into the excitement of the games in the days before the opening. Funny that it was a friend in LA that had directed me to the site, so finally I knew what was lighting up the sky. As soon as I found out where it was coming from I headed down to the H.R. MacMillan space centre for a great view. For me it was the perfect place to view, feeling like any minute I’d be whisked off by an alien spaceship!

I is very cool, I was watching in from Gastown playing off the clouds on the other side of the peninsula and it was mesmerizing. If I knew how to program light’s movement I would be on their site in a minute for my minutes of fame.

Dusk. The sky comes alive as people from here, there and everywhere pick coordinates that dictate which way the spotlights above False Creek will point. Lighting up the sky from dusk til dawn, it’s hard not to feel the excitement in the air. I don’t even mind when they bounce off of some of the trees, casting light into our windows. I feel lucky that for the next two weeks, I have this changing art cast on the night sky as my view. With searchlights built along Sunset beach and Vanier Park and cameras set up in the mountains, and down by the water, this moving art installation is already drawing lots of visitors to the cold, dark and usually quiet seawall. And in forty-six minutes from right now, my coordinates will light up the sky too(dedicated to Unilocal Vancouver, of course!)
