More of an old fashioned barber shop than the trendy salons you see around Vancouver, however it is not run by an old Italian guy as you might expect but by a Korean lady with blonde hair. Anne is a trip, always in a good mood and happy to see you. She has a loyal following of regulars. Her English is good, but her accent is heavy so you need to focus on what she is saying. She does like to chit chat too. If you want some fancy designer cut this is not the place, but if you know what kind of cut you want Anne is more than capable.

Great place to get a cut on the cheap. I’m not sure why guys pay $ 40 – 60 for a haircut when you can pop into Waverly and look equally fresh for $ 17. Super nice lady who owns the place and you are always welcome there! No frills, just haircuts.

I was in need of a quick trim but did not want to spend $ 50 on a haircut so I checked this place out. I’ll admit it has quite a homely basement feel but for the price ($ 17) and the older Korean lady with purple hair’s friendliness brings out the charm in the salon. I’ll definitely come back when I need a quick clean up.

Just back from my second haircut and beard trim at this place. It’s not a salon-​style cut (clippers will be used… extensively) and I appreciate what others have said about communication difficulties with the very friendly owner/​barber. However, I think the quality of her work is pretty good, especially considering the price. I’ll go back here for sure.

This place is cheap, but I must say I wasn’t impressed with the result. The Asian lady is very friendly, but communication can be a bit difficult at times. She has some unorthodox methods while cutting your hair, which gave me some doubts during the procedure.
I found another barber nearby that I have been going since, but I wouldn’t completely disencourage trying this one out. The price is such a steal!

For me this is Vancouvers best barber shop. Great service. Very skilled barber in Anne. The price is right. I am sure you can go elsewhere, pay $ 40 and get a beer while you wait an hour for a cut, but that’s not for me.
Short lines, open at good times for after work etc. great hair cut (does what you ask, rather than what the barber thinks!), reasonable price. Barbers. Bingo Bango

Given Vancouver’s prices, if you’re like me, trying to save money but afraid of ending up with a crappy chinatown haircut, this place is a godsend.
Seeing the review by Phil, I went to Anne’s barber shop — and yes, amazing — great haircut, great conversation, great price — what I would pay back home.
P. S. Ask Anne about the NBC anchormen that came to get their hair cut at her place during the olympics!

It’s hard to find a great, reliable, consistent barbershop, but Anne at The Waverly is the one for me. Great service, great haircuts, great price. Highly recommended.
