I came here to rent a U-Haul and rent storage for a month while I find a place to live(cuz my 2 months notice was simply not enough for me to find the perfect place) It’s an older facility. I was informed by Bob that there were no U hauls — sold out til Mon.(I need it for Wed. Guess I should of reserved online) no worries, I need a place to store my shit. Only ONE locker was available for my needs I am told. Never ever mentioned the pod like containers I saw online. This place is old and borderline creepy. We have to take some old school wooden freight elevator. We ask the girl who is moving her stuff out if we can take a peek at the size. She was sweet, and accommodated my request. Told she’s moving out as her rent due date is tomorrow. Was given a card and his # told to call tomorrow at noon. According to him it’s the only one. It’s 145 plus tax so roughly 165 $ a bit steep! Old fashioned facility — check Old fashioned prices? HELL no I leave empty handed, slightly stressed, I come home check elsewhere … Happy to learn of other more affordable options, in a modern facility.

Once a storage facility for vehicles, West End Mini Storage and I have had a couple of go’s together. A couple of years ago, they changed management and the exiting owners insisted that current storage locker holders move their belongings to Yaletown Storage which we did. Little did we know that West End Mini Storage would still be operating, just under new peeps… this however, is no fault of the new management here. Recently, we’ve taken out a month to month space here. The pros: –Easily accessible –UHaul rental right in the parking lot –A parking lot –Friendly staff –Clean The cons: –It’s expensive(for month to month at least) –There’s only one elevator –The lockers are mostly cubby style, lightless and tough to walk into, especially the ones on the upper level. Would I rent here again, sure, for convenience, but value wise, there’s gotta be somewhere more affordable.
