I really love this gym! It’s open 24 hours. I think the security at this gym is higher than others, which is nice(requires a key FOB as well as a hand print recognition during non-staffed hours).I like the setup, amenities and what is has to offer. The gym itself is pretty large and split into two sections. There’s a large co-ed room that has all the cardio and strength machines I could ask for. I’m rarely on the cardio machines but there always seems to be open spots available. There’s a room in the back for boxing, TRX, etc,. There’s also a spin room and a classroom which is open for use while classes aren’t going on. All the cardio machines are equipped with a personal screen where you can watch tv shows, music videos, etc. You can plug in your own music or even choose a virtual tour(i.e. hiking in New Zealand). Sometimes I may have to «wait» for a machine but that’s usually pretty rare. If it happens, I do a few sets of something else and try again. Usually no problem. I do find it to be very busy in the evenings. It’s not so much of an issue within the gym but parking is pretty limited during those peak hours. I really wish there was more parking space. The women’s-only section is alright. I find that it’s missing a lot of the equipment or machines I would normally use though so I’m rarely in there. There’s also no water fountain in there which I think is such a pain! There’s only a limited number of free-weights so they are usually in use or scattered throughout the women’s section. The big room is the way to go, for me anyway. Others seem to enjoy it though. I’m not sure what’s going on with the upstairs level? Curious to see if this gym gets expanded upwards! The change rooms, washrooms and showers are kept clean as well as gym areas. There’s a smoothie and snack bar as well. The prices are reasonable but I haven’t had a chance to try it as of yet. There’s also a sauna and steam room connected to the shower area within the change rooms. I really enjoy the sauna! I’m not so much of a fan of the steam room… I find it to be a bit stinky. They also offer a clinic for physio, chiropractic and massage as well as a day care centre. There’s a nice waiting area by the juice bar with a TV and lounge in addition to everything else. Love that these amenities are offered. Great gym!

I do have to admit, I like this gym! Express Fitness is a 24 hour facility with many different accommodations. First off, this gym is massive! It has a main room with lots of equipment and a fair amount of cardio machines. There are two smaller rooms, one for fitness classes and the other for spin, if I’m not mistaken. They also have a smaller women’s gym from the change room which fits all my workout needs(especially when the main room is packed.) They do have a functional sauna which I’ve been in once. It’s alright but not up to my Finnish standards, hehehe. There is a little day care center, a few vending machines, a TV lounge area and a juice/food bar. I’ve had their cherry banana smoothie and it was really good. I mimic this one in my breakfast smoothies every now and then thanks to Express. The age range of patrons vary from high school to seniors which indicates to me that it is affordable. Another positive point is that the owners care about their business. I often see them wandering around looking for places which haven’t been cleaned thoroughly, fixing any broken machines or talking to clients & trainers. I had a complaint and they rectified it right away and to my satisfaction. I did not complain in person, I actually left a note in their suggestion box which makes me even more thrilled that it was taken care of. If you go during peak hours you can expect the place to be full and parking can be a bitch. Like most gyms, I suggest going during off hours and getting a good sweat on. My only cons? Too many stray hairs on the floor in the girls change room and all the printed signs everywhere. Don’t flush this, don’t put shoes here, be nice to everyone, weights belong here, share the room, don’t leave things in locker, blah blah blah. I know it’s important but it’s just annoying. But aside from these petty gripes of mine, I like this gym!
