I was dismayed by my dinner; it was a mushy, flavorless mess.(The Farm Grain Bowl, or some such thing). The chicken that came with it was overcooked and incredibly dry. If I was into chicken jerky, it would have been perfect. My advice: Don’t serve meals that haven’t been seasoned. When you send out a dish that tastes like the«Thing Thing» my mom would craft out of a week’s worth of leftovers, but without any salt or pepper, you are doing sad things to good raw ingredients. The second star is because my fella’s salmon was yummy.

This was my first time dining at this farm to table bistro. It is situated in the same complex as its two sister restaurants. The décor and atmosphere is awesome. Very cozy yet upscale. Our waitress was not the best. We ordered the mussels which were very small, dry and served in an oddly flavored broth. I would contrast with mussels elsewhere– eg Miami Fl the best ever– wherein they were meaty, plump, buttery and served in a bowl of delicious savory wine based broth that you could pick up and drink or sop up with a crusty bread. And oh, speaking of bread. Their focaccia bread was too thick and dry for the scant amount of the unpleasant broth with which it was served. We also ordered the prawn pappardelle and it was essentially unflavored. Hate to be such a Debbie Downer but I try and stay true to my tastebuds and this place was a bit of a disappointment. Again, the setting saved the rating.

We followed the recommendation from Marriott reception, it’s great and lots of local food. We ordered grill salmon and fish chips, the seafood is really fresh and test nice! I’d recommend this place if you like to try something local.

Excellent experience! Nikki our 10 Acres specialist was a real dream… She made our first time a beautiful moment. The food was very good and the presentation was eye opening! The staff made sure that all details were looked after… From the garden to the table… Looking forward to going again!

I’ll keep it short and sweet: this is a great place to eat, and if you’re not sensitive to temperature, sit on the patio. Great for dates and less busy, balmier nights outside. Food: good portions, decent prices, prepared quickly and tastily. If you’re a connoisseur, you’ll probably find something to nitpick, but I’ve never had a bad meal here in the few dozen time’s I’ve sat at their tables. Service: always excellent, though it can get a little infrequent on busy nights. Patio: for some reason, they like to keep the wind-shades down AND the heaters ON, making this more of a tropical spot and even hotter if you’re next to a heater. If you suffer from the cold, check ahead to see if they’ve got the heaters on, you’ll love it. Me, not so much.

I think it is over priced for what you get, but the food was alright. One of the dishes came with a poached egg on top and when my dining mate asked for a soft poach she was told the egg was pre-poached. There is just something so wrong about that. I’m glad I tried 10 Acres but I definitely won’t be going back. Also under the«More Business Info» it says they do take away which isn’t true. At the end of our meal we wanted to order take away for someone who couldn’t join us and were told by the serve they don’t do food to go.

After a long first day in Victoria we searched for a healthy place to eat that would be a fun spot but nothing too fancy schmancy. I really want to give this place 5 stars because the ambiance was incredible. We were very comfortable outdoors on the swanky patio. The indoor area was ten times more swanky. Not a bad seat in the place. Ad the customer service was terrific. Our server was attentive and helpful. Super sweet! Here is my nitpicky review of the food. My salmon dish was on the dry side. I simply cannot eat a dry salmon. Also, the sauce was delicious(that helped offset the dry) but there wasn’t enough and it disappeared quickly. It would have been nice to have more. And the risotto plated with the salmon simply was not risotto. Instead of a creamy texture, this risotto was more like dry tiny bits of pasta with no sauce. In other words, more dryness on my plate. Again, with the small amount of sauce on the plate there simply wasn’t enough to soak up the risotto and salmon both to recover the entire dish’s dryness. Now that I think about it, my meal had little flavor despite it smelling so good on the cedar plank. I guess my dude had all the luck in the world with his halibut. Now, on the other hand his plate was delicious. This well prepared fish smothered in duck egg made me reach over my plate more and more just to snag more bites. Maybe if I ordered something different this review would be more than just 3 stars.

The food was excellent and healthy. The service and ambience were great. There’s a fire place for rainy days and even a patio for sunny days. Everything seems to be made from local ingredients or their farm, which is amazing in this day in age.

Great patio, we were able to sample lots of tasty dishes! We tried the garlic shrimp(Great), blue moon wings(Amazing!), fish tacos(Great), truffle french fries with garlic aioli(Good). Overall, everything was very good! This is definitely a place I’d come back to again!

Cons: I requested an inside booth when I made my reservation in the morning for a 6:15 seating. When I got there we were placed outside on the patio at a table. They couldn’t get us inside. Food…charcuterie plate was ok if you like pâté. This is not a true representation of a charcuterie plate. 1 loose chicken pâté(more of a mousse) 1 blob of underseasoned rabbit rillettes and a few slices of decent chorizo. Acompanied by really good housemade mustard some bread and pickles. Cauliflower dip was under seasoned and not enough cheese. Slow service. Pro: Manager comped us a glass of prosecco for the poor seating. Meatballs were really good. Overall I don’t see the hype. I love the concept of farm to table but bad service coupled with mediocre food really kills the chances of me heading back anytime soon.

Really enjoyed this place. I was dining solo as was away for work and decided to give this place a shot. The staff was very friendly with a warm greeting at the front. From there I sat on the patio, which was so cozy and warm. You still felt a part of the theme of the restaurant.(Rustic/chic) I had the organic quinoa salad with chicken. It was very enjoyable and exactly what I felt like. I had started a new nutrition plan so it was hard to stay away from more tempting options. I was actually surprised how satisfied I was. This seemed like a great place to hang with friends or go for a date. Service was very good from start to finish.

Been a couple of times for lunch(which was very good) but this review is about #happyhour. Served 4 – 6 and on the patio or inside. All draft beer and house wine is $ 5 and a small but good assortment of appies. Tried fish and chips, fish tacos, and quinoa fritters with humous. All good and all also just $ 5. Plus an order of fries for 6 bucks and we were full. 2 drinks each and tab was $ 46. Solid Friday night deal.

Great atmosphere. Beautiful spot. Server was well informed. We were 5 first timers; 2 of us from out of town. Lots of seating options including heated patio. We sat inside at a high table. Our friends caught a draft and had to put their jackets on. We didn’t know what to expect and not sure what to order. The menu doesn’t describe dishes adequately. I ordered the Argentinian prawns expecting them to be served atop an endive salad. It came with decorative curly lettuce. Mussels with a side order of frites seemed generous. Prawns Mac and cheese was good. The Sooke trout was good served on vegetables. No bread or anything. Service and ambience were great. Food was ok. Slightly underwhelming for the promise and price.

Incredible service on a sunny afternoon. Dug into some mussels and fries, but not before starting with some sesame spiced chicken wings — which were perfect and piping hot. My partner had a chicken pie, which was fantastically done — flavourful, savoury, and delicious. And the pie crust was perfect. No soggy bottom on this one. Finished things off with a delectable vanilla crème brûlée. We were well looked after the whole time, and even though on this trip we’re only here for the week, we’re actually thinking of coming back before we’re gone!

Best part: cool vibe. Outside patio feel with shelter and warmth Overall, just mediocre food. Salad Nicoise was over dressed(soggy) with a sweet vinegrette,(no mustard) and a fishy seared tuna that was pale and soft. French onion soup broth was bland/watery. Shrimp mac and cheese was heavy and briny. Sadly was hoping for a more«local» flavor.

Had a long day of traveling and exploring, so we decided to get some eats around 8pm. Tried to reserve a table online but it was showing the restaurant was full. But since we needed to eat we thought we give it a shot anyways. Got a seat shortly after we arrived. Waitress came by and we ordered drinks and food but it took a while for it to come. We ordered Mussels, French onion soup, Chicken Tacos and the 10 Acres Salad. Critique: Mussels in the white wine and garlic sauce had no flavor. The French onion soup was bland, chicken in the tacos was bland and if not for the sauce flavorless and the salad was overdressed. Don’t mean to be critical but it just didn’t match the atmosphere and the description of the food. Most likely won’t return but glad to try a different place. In total with a drink each our meal cost approx $ 90.

I wanted to like this place as it did have good reviews but I think compared to many of the great offerings, it was mediocre. Don’t get me wrong, the ambiance is nice — there’s an nice outdoor patio with heatlamps and the indoor is very cozy, but the service left me wanting. Our server was super nice and a sweetheart but she did forget quite a few things, maybe she was having a busy night. We got the French Onion Soup, Quinoa Fritters, and Prawn Mac n Cheese. All were decent and reasonable but nothing amazing our out of this world. The Farm to Table idea is great but perhaps living in Northern California has spoiled me in this regard.

Tried to pop in for dinner Sunday night around 7pm, before retiring to our hotel(The Magnolia), but they were packed with a 40 min wait. We came back Monday night at 8, and the place was almost desserted… good for us! Overall the food was pretty good, but our server was either very new or having an off night. We started by sharing the garden greens and roasted veggies salad with local goat cheese, on it. However, the chef totally forgot to dress the salad, so had to to ask for a side of it. Odd that they would for get, as it was a house made by Orange and Honey vinergerett, and was very good. We were not that hungry, so for mains we had grilled fish tacos, and green curry muscles. Both we very delicious and fresh, and I recommend them highly.
