We stayed there in the Fall of 2012. Cora helped me with my reservation. It was the last room available at 1pm on Saturday. We called while on the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria and I had just seen the ad in the Vancouver Island Visitor magazine. It enticed me to call. We arrived at the home and met Arland. Had a wonderful stay. We were upgraded to a larger room the second night. Great location. We were able to ride our bicycles all over the city. Beautiful home and rooms. Great meals, enjoyed the cookies and sherry and warm hospitality.

Absolutely gorgeous! My husband and I were graciously greeted by the inn keeper with a tour of the facilities… we were offered sherry for an evening cocktail. We also got a free upgrade to the charming master sweet. I would not wish to stay else where. Definitely my cup of tea :)

We stayed one night last week at this amazing B and B… wish our stay was longer! I booked our stay back in April, and Warren and Gary were incredibly helpful: arranging our visit to both Butchart Gardens and the Empress Hotel for tea. They worked out a discount on these trips that included transportation, and timed them perfectly for our short time there. They even managed to arrange gluten free meals for me. So, I was impressed with their customer service before I even got there! When we arrived I was amazed at the beautiful gardens and exterior of the large Edwardian style home. When we stepped inside, I felt I had stepped back in time; the furnishings were lavish and reflected the period of the house beautifully and tastefully. It was obvious this house was cared for with the same commitment to excellence as the owners showed to me in booking the room. And the Room! Wow! It was lovely and HUGE! The bathroom was bigger than our kitchen at home… the original tub was so huge a 6 foot plus man could lay down and swim! A huge comfy bed, fireplace(that burned real wood!), chairs and a chaise lounge, books in the room and the library, cookies, tea, sherry all provided… what else can I say? Oh! The breakfast. Warren and Gary must have been chefs in their former lives, because they managed to serve me the lightest, fluffiest quiche, delicious sconces, fruit yogurt, and blueberry muffin, and all were gluten free just for me. Mu husband’s meal, not gluten free of course, was equally as tasty. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and hospitality of this B and B when you are in Victoria. I do have one caution: one of our hosts recommended that we have dinner at a restaurant close by within walking distance. It wasn’t that great, and I can’t remember the name of it or I would just review it on their site, but if you stay there ad ask for local fare avoid the place that is two blocks north and about 4 blocks east of the Inn.

Last month we spent two days at the Beaconsfield Inn! It was the first experience that my wife and I ever had at a bed and breakfast. It was a little intimidating. Would the owners be overly involved in our stay? Would the other guests staying there want to converse too much? We just wanted relaxation! The experience was extraordinary! Our hosts were helpful and friendly, but never overwhelming. The other guests were friendly and cordial. The breakfasts were a delight to be looked forward to every day. Our room was comfortable, clean and felt like home… only better. We loved our stay!

Beaconsfield is everything a B&B should be! Gary and Warren do a great job of looking after very detail and are very personable. The property is an historic treasure, well-maintained and true to the Victorian period. A wonderful experience that I’d recommend to anyone.
