We were the only people in the restaurant and the waitress forgot to bring us menus and then later coffee refills. The kitchen was out of almost everything(no fries, no soup, no feta cheese, almost no salad dressings). We waited almost an hour for our food and we were ready to walk out just before it finally arrived. I got baked cheese tortellini with an alfredo sauce and it was quite obviously frozen, not fresh; I ended up taking it home and making my own sauce for it. The server didn’t even offer a discount after we had to redo our orders because of the lack of food in the kitchen, the ridiculous wait time and shoddy food. All in all, don’t eat here.

I’m sad to report that we won’t be going to Cecelia Creek anymore. It was our favourite neighbourhood spot, but it changed hands a couple of months ago, and it’s just not good anymore. We agreed to try it three times before deciding, after the ownership/management change — once when it first changed, once a month or two in, and one last time just to make sure, in case it was just growing pains and they got their game together. But nope. Some of the most creative and delicious choices are gone from the menu now(the sriracha baked eggs, the butter chicken benny, the on the run sandwich), and what’s left is not very inspired. Also, the prices are quite high(one menu item is «two eggs any style, plus toast» — for $ 9.00!). The food itself is just not that good anymore. I had an omelette recently, and the eggs were leathery and overcooked. One of the fillings I’d chosen was spinach, and it wasn’t even wilted — just big, raw spinach leaves in there. And lastly, they just haven’t figured out what they’re doing. Every single time of the last three times we’ve gone, something has gone wrong with our order, our bill, or both. It’s just not what it was, sadly.

Don’t do it! We visited this restaurant a while back and it was great! I think my previous review might still be up for it. We went there again today, and it was AWFUL, just AWFUL. I see some other reviewers are saying it is under new management etc… and that would make sense. When we arrived, the place was virtually deserted. Mind you it was the first time too, and it ended up being great! This time was not good. I ordered a Blackstone Benny, and let me tell you, it was a horror show. The«hollandaise» sauce had been squirted from a bottle into two turd like spirals on top of my egg. After thinking about it a while, I think it was Japanese mayo mixed with lemon juice… that’s what it looked like and tasted like. A Blackstone Benny is pretty basic: bacon, tomato, egg, hollandaise. I think this one was also supposed to have blue cheese on it, but there was no sign of it. There was also no bacon and no tomato. My husband had the Huevos Rancheros that were equally unappealing. Dry corn tortillas stacked on top of each other with dried looking refried beans, no cheese, no salsa, no sauce! What is going on here? After talking for a few minutes, we finally decided to abandon the restaurant and go to Jam on Herald St. The waitress apologized profusely but didn’t seem surprised or shocked. She graciously took the Blackstone Benny off the bill altogether, and only charged my husband half price. We won’t go back. It looked like there was at least one manager/owner there. On person was folding pizza boxes while another was working on his computer in the back corner and appeared to be conducting interviews. Someone should have come over and said something to us. Anyway we left and won’t be back. What a shame! PS – the photos of the food are what it USED to look like… not today!

My wife and I had been looking forward to trying Cecilia Creek for months. Today we finally managed to get a couple of hours without our 7 month old and decided to go for it. When we arrived we waited 15 minutes for a table. Now usually, I don’t count this as a negative. If the food is that good, I will happily wait. In this case, we were assured that we were just waiting for a table to be cleaned, and said table sat there for 10 minutes waiting to be cleaned, then 5 minutes cleaned and unoccupied. The waitress was friendly and quick to get our order taken and coffee poured, but nowhere to be found while we watched our food sit under the warmer waiting to be served. At this point the other two front end staff were busily engaged in chatter with customers while the kitchen bell was repeatedly dinged. When the food arrived, despite the nice flavours of my hash and my wife’s bacon pancakes, it was evident the food had been sitting, and the portions were smaller than the price suggested, compared to other local breakfast spots. Our waitress was apologetic for the food sitting, and did take 15 percent off the bill, but it isn’t likely that we will be back. Bottom line, for efficiency, flavour, and portion, Spoons or Floyd’s is a better way to spend your breakfast dollars in Victoria.

Had THE best eggs Benny ever! This restaurant has a «country beautiful» design. It is very cozy. The service was fantastic! The coffee superb! The food is remarkably real! Loved it

I was a bit disappointed with the bourbon and bacon pancakes. Way too sweet which gave me a headache after. I will definitely be back to try other stuff on the menu!

Used Unilocal to find a new breakfast spot in Victoria for my wife and me. Initially, observing male cook staff smoking outside beside the building was a turn-off. The exterior Ramada Inn environment wasn’t particularly inviting, either. But the reviews were good, so we went in. We were not disappointed. Pleasant, unpretentious décor, pop-folky music, and friendly wait staff greeted us inside. We each ordered the Cecelia Creek Hash. Nice portioning and tasty! Good hollandaise. Overall quite delicious. Our waiter, a young woman, was very attentive and sincere. Definitely looking to try something new on the menu next time!

The waitress was very«green», the kitchen was out of nearly everything and not even the French fries tasted good. If in a poutine you can’t even get the French fried right this is a real problem. One might expect this place to be cheap — but even with poor food, $ 30 for two apps is too much. Also even though kids menus were being given out the items on the menus were not being offered. When one child asked for French toast(on the menu) the chef turned him down saying breakfast was over — how hard is French toast!!!

Breakfast was delicious, no complaints at all. Bourbon pancakes and mighty leaf tea — amazing. Waitress was prompt, casual check ins and all smiles and cheers. Will be back.

Just had breakfast with my sweetheart here. I ordered huevos Rancheros and it was amazing. Eggs were poached to perfection. Pan fries were perfect. The fruit was so fresh I swear they are growing it out the back door. Our server was Kelly and she gave us great service with a genuine smile. My compliments to the chef Steve!

Calling Cecelia a gem is pretty accurate — who would have thought a 2 star hotel like the Ramada would house an attractive brunch spot? It’s like a Kevin James sitcom where he somehow marries a hot woman who’s way out of his league. Yeah, not believable. There’s a bit of creativity with the menu — I had the panko fried french toast which means a crispy exterior instead of a soft custardy french toast. It’s not for everyone but some people will love it. Coffee is brewed with decent strength and tastes good while the service is friendly and prompt. One demerit keeps it from being a 5 star brunch spot — the room has no sound insulation(wood floors, solid ceiling) so it gets very loud with a full house. I didn’t have to shout to talk but I certainly had to raise my voice — it’s like driving on the highway with the windows down. Some sound absorbing ceiling panels would go a long way to making Cecelia a more comfortable place to eat.

A good restaurant, not particularly outstanding, but there’s free parking in the Ramada lot, the service is friendly and helpful, the food was tasty and portions were just right for me. I had the Traditional Breakfast, and my friend had the Crispy French Toast. Both were good. The panko crumbs make the deep fried Crispy French Toast nice and crunchy, while remaining soft and bread-y on the inside. Both dishes were served with a small bowl of fresh fruit(as seen on one of the Eggs Benedict pictures) which is nice to offset the bacon and eggs I had. I’m in town working for a few weeks, and we’ve been going to Jam often. Cecelia Creek’s food isn’t as creative as Jam, but the food is quite good. I would certainly come back.

This new eatery near the Gorge in Victoria is on its way to becoming the place for brunch in town. With ample parking, comfortable seating, and an effort to keep the noise level down with low background music playing and carpet hidden under the tables, this restaurant is great for all ages. We were eagerly seated and initially served by two employees; after a few minutes the novelty of our presence wore off and it was a bit trickier to get coffee refills with the busy server. However, the food was worth the wait and we were surprised by the bone-in ham that came with eggs, and the crispy corn tortillas in the Huevos Rancheros. A real find!
