Had lots of promise until we walked in the door. We were somewhat greeted and then directed to a table. It was very very slow and with the exception of one large table of patrons and a random person or two at the bar, the restaurant/bar was pretty empty. We waited and waited and waited some more and then the server showed up. She did apologize and say that she thought the other server was going to take us. Ok. Beer and cider came. Disappointingly more on the barely cool side than anywhere as chilled as they should have been. Yuck. She asked us if we wanted to order some food and we declined. From there it got significantly worse. She showed up a few moments later, tossed our bill on the table, turned around and walked off. Not a word. So we waited for her to return. Glasses empty. And we waited. Finally my hubby walked up to the bar so we could give them our card and get out of there. We were told she had to process the payment. So she shows up a minute later with the«machine.» We had already decided that this young lady needed no tip and that it might send her a message. So as she carefully watched my husband decline the tip, her response was as expected. She turned on her heel and walked off without a word. For the record, we are very generous tippers and have honestly NEVER not left a tip. Service was that bad this time. We have been treated with nothing but excellent service while in BC but this was inexcusable. Hopefully this young lady will consider her behavior and pour on a little care next time.

Went here for Marks Birthday dinner on our last day in Victoria. I ordered fish and chips as it’s obligatory to have them at least once while there. I was served gooey doughy cod. How do you mess those up within spitting distance of the harbor? They managed it SPLENDIDLY! When I complained the waitress asked if I wanted them to put it «it back in» to be cooked. Ahhhhh NO! To her credit and likely the look on my face she later decided to ask if I wanted something else. I passed. They did take it off my bill along with my husbands’ nachos which had desiccated cheese and burnt chips. Crappy food but nice patio near the harbor. Even drinks were underwhelming!

Great little patio overlooking the water! Nice spot to have a cold bevy on a sunny afternoon. The patio was busy on the day we were here. The service was good though, no long waits for drinks or food. My boyfriend had a caesar to drink and said it wasn’t the best he’s had. I had a beer, it was as good as I expected. We shared a chicken pizza and it was quite delicious. Great size appetizer for 2, if you’re not too hungry. I’d definitely come back here when strolling down around the waterfront.

It was good. The smoked salmon flat bread was tasty and the service was good too. I think we just went too early, when it was kind of dead, they didn’t even have music playing, so –1 star for ambience.

My first impression was not great, needs a bit of a make over. The seating on benches was really worn out, however on the other side of restaurant I believe there was benches that looked redone. The washroom is so cramped and so dark … HOWEVER food was good ! Creamy corn chowder not only smelled amazing but was indeed very tasty. The guacamole chicken wrap had super flavor as well.

Well if the manager wasn’t the friendliest guy in all of Victoria! We sat at the bar. Enjoyed the prawn tacos and a lager… I thought it was a house lager but maybe not. Do they brew here? Tacos were excellent. Peach, avocado and lime with well prepared fish. He was working and talking like an efficient machine(the manager title) but personable(the bar part of the job). I am discovering on vacations a nice place to be is at the bar with a beer and a nice person to talk to. Astoria Or gave me Buoy Brewing, I have my local bar and Darcy’s makes the cut too. We talked about local culture(including the new holiday Family Day, Monday after Super Bowl) & attractions, beer and wine, travel, weather and the culture of the bar. This was a lunchishtime meal but he said the place gets nuts in the evenings with live music and games on tv. He cut up probably 100 limes and lemons while we sat & ate. And! He gifted me a birthday shot. A perfect stranger! Try The SHAFT. Espresso, Kahlua, Bailey’s and vodka in a shot over ice with a straw. Dayum that was tasty! I would def grab a drink at Darcy’s. He was so kind and so knowledgeable. The gift of being social but still being productive. I’d call him a friend.

Great location, variety of food and drinks, and a friendly staff. There are salads, burgers, sandwiches, and even curry! I was having a hard time deciding between the pork tacos and curry, and glad I picked curry because it was nice and spicy. We tried some of the local beer and got some great tips from our waitress for how to get around town.

Nice drinks selection and some amazing dishes. Their smoked salmon flatbread was to die for. Wait staff was stretched a bit thin, but they were very nice.

If someone does not have their piece of ID(especially if they clearly look over 20), be professional about it when explaining the policy. Very rude staff! There are many great pubs near by this one is not on that list.

Had lunch here on our walk along Warf St… sounded appealing. Had a Cosmo and that was pretty good. We both ordered the STEAKSANDWHICH. Mine was NOT med rare as requested which was annoying but the flavor of the beef with the garlic toast, sautéed mushrooms & fried onion straws were a perfect match! The fries on the other hand tasted home made and I can’t stand that style. Similar to White Spot but a thinner version. Service was good and I would go again.

Did not like the layout for the dance floor and seating. Good wait staff walking around to get more drinks for you though.

Three reasons why I am giving Darcy’s one star: 1. Rude and slow waitstaff 2. Anti-foreigner(we are American) 3. Unwilling to accommodate us watching the Kentucky Derby From the very beginning this dining experience left us wanting more. We asked the manager about watching the Kentucky Derby and his response was«I don’t know if we are going to have it on…» Then our waitress acted like she was hesitant to wait on our table. She rarely came by to refill our waters and when she did she did hastily and like she couldn’t wait to get away from us… Not sure why? We ordered food and it was delivered to the wrong table. The waitress apologized to that other table but never once explained what happened to us, even though we were the ones who had to wait longer for our food. We were sitting in fairly close proximity so we picked up on what had happened. It felt almost anti-tourist/foreigner/American to us. We asked to watch an American sporting event and from that time forward, experienced slow, rude service. Don’t dine here. There are several other similar bars in the area that offer the same atmosphere and will treat you kindly.

I really enjoyed my lunch there. I had the Quinoa and Shrimp Salad. The portion was more than generous. I loved the brightness and the wonderful view of the water. Great place to chill after walking around downtown. The server was cheerful and seemed to really enjoy her job.

Stopped here thirsty and hungry after a long walk and left very satisfied. The pub is in a great spot overlooking the harbour, although unfortunately there is a road disrupting the view a little. The place was pretty quiet for a Sunday lunchtime, but I imagine it’s a great spot in the evenings — they have live music 7 days a week. The beer selection was great, and only around $ 6 for a pint. It went down a treat — I swear they know how to serve beer way better in Victoria than in Vancouver. My boyfriend and I shared some nachos. I think they were about $ 17 once you added chicken, and they were good value. Huge portion and loaded with chicken and plenty of cheese — just how nachos should be. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Would like to come back to this place in the evening next time I’m in Victoria.

The only thing holding me back from giving five stars is that there’s a $ 5 entrance fee on a Friday night. It’s a pub, not a club. A regular-priced jug/pitcher is $ 19, which is great. It serves about 6 pints. On Friday, they ran a special on a couple of the jugs(house brews), but $ 19 is cheap enough anyway. We didn’t try any of the food, so keep that in mind with this review. The music on a Friday was good. There was a cover band that played hits spanning from the ‘90s to the ‘10s. Great job, it got all of my friends dancing. Drinks and shots are reasonable priced. Keep in mind that if you’re sitting on the outside patio, you can’t drink out there after 11pm, you’ll have to move inside.

I wasn’t expecting much to be honest. This place has always seemed like it was just built for tourists who enjoy eating meat things and watching sports in a sporty environment. And that’s fine if you’re one of those people. I am not. We decided our last beer of the weekend would be here. Apparently it was a superbowl day, but we managed to get in and out before the superfans showed up and football things began. I had a pint of Blue Buck(always a safe choice!) and we shared a huge bowl of mac and cheese WITHBROCCOLIINIT. What the fuck? I misjudged you Darcy’s. I was expecting the usual non-veg friendly pub menu items. There were some of those things, but it isn’t often you run into your two favourite foods combined in a bowl.
