The food was great! We had the beef short rib and the halibut and chips, highly recommend! Staff were efficient and friendly with handling our large group. The only downside was the atmosphere due to our group being the only ones in there. All in all a very good dinner!

Hawk and Hen was new to us. We come to Victoria a couple times a year. Tried breakfast and we were very pleased. Had the omelette of the day, fried egg sandwich and French Toast. Service was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was delicious. I would like larger coffee cups.

We had the crab benedict and the poutine. Both were amazing! The bits off bacon on the top were super thick and very tasty. Crab cakes were mild in spice, just enough crab flavor to go with the velvety poached eggs. Hollandaise was creamy and not tart at all. Excellent combo. The carmelized onions in the poutine really pulled it all together.
Coffee was bitter. Had both the brewed and Americano. All bitter. But some people like that sort of thing.

Fantastic breakfast & brunch! But a message to the owner: please change the coffee. We just want regular tasting coffee.
I had the strawberry-​ricotta french toast, and he had the breakfast poutine. Both were delicious. The poutine is really just a hash, but a darn good one.

Decent brunch, but nothing mind blowing. I had the Crab Cake Benedict, asked for medium poached eggs, and they were hard.
Service was decent. Their staff is nice, but if you’re looking for a mind-​blowing brunch, you might not find it here.

We’ve come to this restaurant on a couple of occasions now. Both times the food has been excellent and very reasonably priced.
On our most recent visit we ordered both the Hawk Skillet and the Hen Skillet. Both were extremely delicious and an ample portion of food.
This restaurant is often quiet, but don’t let that discourage you, as it seems that it has gone relatively undiscovered.

Place was just okay. Bar selection was missing key items from cocktail menu. Service very attentive and willing to answer all my questions. Although an item I ordered they were out of this night.

Good service, very nice space, but I’m not sure what kind of experience this place is trying to deliver. The dinner menu is small, very casual and is almost all brunch-​type items — strangely at odds with the upscale décor and candle-​lit ambiance of the restaurant at night. But then the section near the bar is super loud and busy, almost a club-​like atmosphere. Not great if you’re trying to have a conversation or relaxed dinner. Food was solid and good, but nothing spectacular. I’ll probably return for breakfast or brunch when the place is quieter.
