I’m not a yoga girl, I went to Hemma for acupuncture so my review is solely for my acupuncture experience. I saw Melissa de Haan for acupuncture and have since returned for more treatments. My experience was great! Melissa is kind, intuitive and helpful and she made my first attempt at acupuncture a great experience which has me coming back for more!
The studio is very relaxing, comfortable and professional. The front end staff are friendly and helpful, there’s always delicious tea there for your enjoyment too:)
The location is not downtown which for me is nice as there is free and easy street parking.
Oh, and they have an awesome payment option!!! It’s a sliding scale between $ 20-​$ 40 per treatment. You just tell them how much you’d like to pay, they have a sheet showing their suggestion based on your income.
PS — I also get my hair cut next door and they’re pretty fab too!!! :)

The friendliest most welcoming yoga studio in town. The best studio. A wide variety of styles. And a sliding scale price model (ex $ 10 to $ 15 for a 60 min class). To top it off, Hemma also offers community style acupuncture — which is a novel and very affordable approach. How it works: There is large room adjacent to the studio with eight easy chairs. The practitioner consults with you at your chair — pokes you with the appropriate needles and snooze away with other folks. The room is generally 50% full — with Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday being the busiest days. Price is also on a sliding scale at an amazing $ 20 — $ 40 a session. Very affordable indeed.
