I really like this place. I think the décor is great, the building fantastic and the cute little skirts and kilts just top it off. It can get very noisy in here though. Also they have the same draft beers as Bard and Banker(I think they’re owned by the same people). We ate a sausage which was good. I wish we had places like this in Seattle.

My friend and I sat outside seats so I could enjoy the view of Victoria. Waitress was really friendly. We had a good time. The chicken was tender and succulent. If you have a chance to go to Victoria you should go here. Highly recommended to all. I had a really good time.

Don’t go for breakfast here. Bland, very limited on choices. Was very disappointed.

Great atmosphere and great service. We had the corn beef and cabbage and the halibut and chips. Both were delicious. My favorite part was the cozy dining upstairs. We’ll defiantly come back the next time we visit Victoria!

Exactly what I was hoping for, a teeny tiny but very strong Irish coffee, delicious cream on top! So good, but gone too fast, i had to have a second :) Very impressive establishment, bar, and giant beer selection on tap. Would have liked a little more attentiveness to my empty water after downing my glass in the first 5 minutes then asking twice for more, but otherwise a great place! PS– girls AND guys in kilts

Irish Times has been a favorite must stop for my annual pilgrimage to Victoria, BC at Christmas for at least 15 years. Their selection of Irish brews and spirits is outstanding and complemented by a selection of local draft beers and ciders. The very knowledgeable wait — staff helps you to navigate the large selection to find the perfect brew depending on your preferences. Their food is also top-notch, regular pub fare with an Irish twist. We lucked in to Pizza and a Pint Wednesday so each chose a personal pizza(one Forest Mushroom and one Irish bacon and Potato) and were blown away by the amazing flavors and the perfect crust. I will definitely be back to try more selections.

During a four day stay in Victoria, I visited Irish Times twice. While I’ve yet to actually eat there, others in my party did eat and were very complimentary of their meals. Both my encounters with IT were immediately following eating at nearby restaurants, and I was very impressed with the drink menu. There are many, many beers on tap, and the whiskey connoisseur in my group was pleased the selection of whiskeys, as well. I love the interior, as it maintains that traditional Irish pub feel, while still being modern and large. The live music really helps the atmosphere and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Irish Times will be at the top of my list for my next visit to Victoria and should be at the top of yours also!

During our 4 day trip in Victoria, we ate dinner at Irish Times twice. Before we even got to town, my dad was telling my sister and I to check out their menu because we’d be dining here a lot. So glad we did! The waitresses are awesome. We can be a frustrating group, and both gals we had were very friendly and patient with us. They gave us great recommendations, too. The drinks are great. The Times Popsicle was my go-to after trying a few. Strong and tasty! The food is good, too. I had the lamb burger our first night and was not super impressed, but the pizzas and corned beef sandwich are fantastic. We tried the Irish poutine and I wasn’t a fan, but just because of the brown gravy. We had the calamari appetizer as well, which was somewhat flavorless. Overall, Irish Times is some great food in Victoria!

We stopped in for dinner and and drinks on Friday night and had a great experience. This place is beautiful inside and out. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food was good, the beer list is extensive and the atmosphere is lively and fun. We tried the poutine, mac & cheese, shepard’s pie, a local pale ale and some pear cider… yummy!

Weekend trip for Fathers Day in Victoria ended up being a weekend at The Irish Times Pub. Everything from the atmosphere, food, live music, and variety of beverages, there was no reason to leave. Let’s just say we were in Victoria for two nights and ended up having 4 meals at this place. O’Hagans Platter, Irish Bacon & Brie Burger, Corned Beef Sandwich and Mac & Cheese were all delicious! Best of all was the Sommersby Hard Cider on ice. Looking forward to the next trip across the water just to visit this place again!

I came here for dinner on a Friday night. This place had all of the elements I was looking for. They had a decent selection of foreign beers, a good selection of specialty foods, a standard pub-type feel, and, as a bonus, outdoor seating. I had the stew which was delicious and the poutine was okay. The beer was good and the ambiance was nice.

We dropped by here hoping to have a beer outside on the patio, and that’s where the story begins! We soon found that the only tables that were open on the patio smelled super, super bad. They smelled bad in a way that almost defies description… like maybe a seagull had pooped itself senseless while being spit-roasted on top of the umbrella over the table, or maybe like a rabbit ate 20 soft-boiled eggs and washed them down with hot chocolate and pickle juice and lukewarm apricot nectar, and then the rabbit climbed inside a ripe durian and exploded… in fact, yes, I think that’s probably what it was. It smelled so bad in such a peculiar way that you couldn’t help but laugh at it. You could totally bottle it and call it Eau de Vom. The servers and manager were soon aware of the smell, and once they were done laughing at it while also gasping for air, they very graciously found us somewhere else to sit(inside, but no biggie). I’m glad we were able to all collectively laugh it and not make it a bigger deal than it was. So anyway, we were evacuated to a nice little table upstairs in the bar, where we enjoyed very good beers(the Scotch ale was really delicious) and the Tyger! Tyger! Prawns, which were amazing. They were very lightly battered and fried I think and came with a very peppery sauce. I could have eaten them all day… or until I got full, whichever came first. Our server was kind of polite but had a weird habit of asking a question, getting an answer, and then POOF!, she was gone, out of sight, out of earshot, like the Flash. There was no hope of follow-up at all, she would just vanish. We actually came to admire this ability and look forward to seeing her employ it again. We probably annoyed her because we were a little indecisive, but remember that we were also still reeling from the fantastically awful smell of the rabbit with gastric distress who exploded inside a durian, so there were extenuating circumstances. What can I say? Speaking of our server, everyone who works here, female and male alike, is supermodel attractive. It’s kind of intimidating. Chopped liver was not on the menu but it was certainly in the bar, in the personage of me. So anyway, good beer, tasty shrimp and a fun evacuation story to escape the shmelly patio. We enjoyed our visit.

I give this place 3 stars mainly because the food was okay and the pub was not wheelchair accessible. I ordered a Scotch egg because I loved getting these in my trip to London. The Scotch egg was burnt on the outside :( The beer wasn’t too bad either, but overall, I just came here to waste some time before actual dinner.

This place is a four-star for location and ambience, but a three-star in terms of food, drink and value. Came here on a Saturday night and there was a great atmosphere, with most of the tables full and a live band playing. This place does a good job at looking like an authentic Irish/British pub — cosy little nooks, comfy dark wood furnishings, low lighting — definitely very nice. We managed to find a spot at the bar and were served right away. The beer was a little on the pricey side at $ 7.50, but it was a proper pint. I also ordered a martini, which set me back $ 9 and was far too heavy on the apple juice. It went down more quickly than any self-respecting martini should. We shared an ‘Irish potato and bacon’ pizza at about $ 15, and a chocolate and Guinness brownie at about $ 7. The pizza was pretty good, but the potato was lacking in flavour. The brownie was delicious — obviously, it’s a brownie. I would stop in here for a drink again just to enjoy the music and atmosphere, but there were better pubs to spend a few hours — like Garrick’s, just opposite.

Was visiting Victoria, and we stopped in here for lunch. Place was hopping with people, as it was boxing day. Staff were really upbeat, helpful and quick. Families with kids, to couples and singles filled the place. It really is a grand building and the ambiance of the place fits almost any mood. We ordered(1) lamb burger with fries; and(2) Scoth egg with Branston’s sauce and a cup of crab bisque. We were not disappointed at all… food arrived really quickly and what a delightful lunch. Truly will be back!

When visiting the in-laws in Port Angeles, we figured we’d take a day trip to Victoria, just because we could. Our day was filled with the Vikings exhibit, plus two IMAX movies, at the Royal Museum. Between shows we walked around Inner Harbour, which is always lovely. Before heading back to the USA, we decided we should eat, and of course we felt like eating at a pub, since there are plenty to choose from in Victoria. We ended up at Irish Times Pub, because the father-in-law remembered the flights of beers they offered and wanted that SPECIFICALLY. I just wanted fish and chips. We both got what we wanted, I’m happy to report. All in all, good. The only issue I had was that the batter on the halibut I ordered was too thick and kinda doughy, not the usual delicious crispy beer battered coating I love. But, overall, it was a yummy meal and we all enjoyed our dinner experience. Next time we’re in Victoria, we’ll hit this place up again. Oh, especially since the girls working there are hecka cute in their short kilt/skirts, which Hubby and the father-in-law completely dug… I thought they were also friendly and efficient :)

Riesiges urgemütiches Pub mitten in Victorias historischem Zentrum.
