Awesome little coffee shop. Nice and secluded, awesome staff, free WiFi, and amazing food. I had one of the daily specials(the BLT) and was completely blown away. I also had the lavender lemonade, which was fantastic. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely would recommend as a study spot or a spot for a quick coffee and breakfast/lunch.

This is a wonderful little coffee shop. Great coffee and friendly service. Made my crazy and very wet morning a whole lot better. I highly recommend stopping in for a great cup of coffe and a nice place to sit and relax. Thanks for the great service!

Great place to stop for a coffee. The Bautista makes BEAUTIFUL Lattes. I had the picnic salad(yum) and the classic lavender lemonade. It was a great place to stop in for a fast snack. Not much of a «lunch» place, but a great little while in the wall.

Went there for a late lunch. Had the turkey sandwich which was delicious but wish there was a side with it. Wife had the tofu salad which she said was great. We both had the heirloom Assam, one of the best tea’s we ever had. Got two cups and a cookie:) Great place would definitely recommend to try.

I took one look at the folks waiting in line in the rain at Red Fish Blue Fish and knew I needed to find us another lunch option. Turns out, our runner up totally deserved first place. We split a salad, the BLT sandwich and a lavender lemonade(free when you check in on Unilocal!). The BLT, made with chile-espresso candied bacon and pickled jalapeño spread, comes on a toasted pretzel bun and is hands down the most scrumptious rendition of this sandwich I have ever eaten. So good was this sandwich, that my fiancé ordered a second to take with us(best afternoon snack!). Picnic has a constantly rotating menu of options — two sandwiches, a daily soup, a daily salad, a weekly chili — all of which I wish I could eat regularly! If you’re anywhere near Victoria, you need to have lunch here.

While looking at the menu outside, a customer leaving the store said this was a great place. Sold. We ordered sandwiches and walked down to the pier. Friendly staff. Good prices. Side salad and both the turkey and Cuban sandwiches were delicious. If we lived in the area, we’d definitely be back!

Cool little place. Good, healthy food and close to the water which is nice for a… PICNIC! Ha. My wife and I both got sandwiches and I got a side salad. Great flavors. Unique ingredients. Definitely worth a try. The service was quick and friendly too. Only critique is that the lavender lemonade is a little too heavy on the lavender, but otherwise tasty.

I was very turned off when I saw the barista making my almond milk latte in the same cup with milk! Please have the decency to use a separate one or take a moment to rinse in between.

I really admire the local vibe picnic gives, it’s small yet spacious and simple yet memorable. The menu is ever changing and you can create your own sandwich made from fresh ingredients. I’ve had a delicious experience here and will definitely be returning. The coffee is worth a shot of here, too! If you make your way to picnic you will be pleased.

if give it 4.5 stars if I could. coffee was excellent. service super friendly. arrived at 11:30 on a Friday. had my heart set on the Unilocal check in deal which was the highly recommended lavender lemonade. unfortunately they were out of it. chicken sandwich was very good. the pulled pork and butternut squash chili was good but there was no squash in it at all. and beware it’s very thick and heavy. no liquid at all. donuts are very good quality and tasty. all in all it was a hit.

Best lunch place ever! Don’t bother with food courts in malls. Come here for real food. Menu is limited but tasty with different salad-sandwich-soup options every day.

One of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had, and great coffee to boot. We leave tomorrow and our plan is to get the breakfast sandwiches to go, and order a couple of their lunch offerings for the ferry trip back to the States. The blueberry/kale smoothie is also excellent. Highly recommended.

I’m stoked that there’s a fantastic coffee shop right across from our new office space on Wharf & Fort. The Revolver(6 shot Americano) is delicious and absurdly strong– just how I like my coffee. I ordered the chili mango chicken feature sandwich and it’s really good. I’m going to love working on this block.

This place has the best coffee in Victoria, and more importantly, some of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. I commute from Seattle on business and my office is across the street. I popped in for coffee almost daily when in town but it wasn’t for about 6 months before I picked up a sandwich as I needed a quick lunch. I was delightfully surprised, it was delicious, and every one since has been equally so. Their daily sandwich specials are always very creative but the results have never disappointed. This is a great little coffee shop, but don’t let that fool you, the lunch specials are not to be missed!

As a dedicated coffee connoisseur from the coffee mecca of Seattle I was super excited to find this place just around the corner from the offices I was visiting. I went here twice in my 2 day stay here, so that should tell you something. Both times I got a piping hot Americano prepared expertly and quickly. Plus the décor’s pretty cool with the exposed brick walls and modern art. Haven’t had a chance to try any of the food, maybe next time. They’ve got wifi too(just ask for the password).

Let me start out by saying: «Grilled cookie? Orange cardboard deer head on the wall? SOLD!» For the grilling and the barista, this place is in my good books! The barista was very friendly and had a great personality, but above all: he grilled a chocolate chip cookie and a lemon loaf. He won me over! The coffee was really good too and there was little to be disappointed with. It is a little pricey tho… I didn’t take a look at the price when I came in, but my sister ordered a small latte, which sang«Ka-ching» to me. The décor was great and(as previously mentioned) the orange deer head was a great touch and the 70’s style wall paper suited the atmosphere. They also have a board where you can put a post-it note of something on your To Do list(which I thought was a great idea)! My favourite: «I need to catch a flying pikachu. NEED!» That cardboard deer head will be mine…

Really stylish in a homey way, hole-in-the-wall café/restaurant. They serve fruit toasties — toasted sandwiches with weird but yummy combinations like peanut butter and apple or chicken and miso. There are daily specials, like the thai salad I had last time I was there. Coffee’s good too. But the lemonade! OK, you have to understand. I’m 42, 225 pounds, long history of heterosexuality, my favourite breakfast is a McDonalds Sausage McMuffin. Yet I am going to wax lyrical about Picnic’s lavender lemonade. It is simple, yet elegant. Just lavender flowers boiled in water, to which is added just enough sugar and lemon. It is sublime. Just the right amount of sweet. Just the right amount of tart. So very very perfect. Not cheap, mind you. The last thing I really needed was an addiction to $ 2.50 a glass lemonades. Especially if my buddies ever find out that I worship froo froo lavender infusions. If they ever do find out, I will distract them by pointing out the tres cool deer head and buffalo head mounted on the wall. Anatomically correct but made of cardboard. The rest of the décor works equally well, even though you wouldn’t think it could be done with 1970s vintage wallpaper and brown and orange paint. You gotta see it to believe it. And try the lemonade.
