They take care of your hair. Their definite strong suit is their service and friendly atmosphere. The owner was next to me cutting someone else’s hair and he’s very energetic and passionate about what he does. His music is also on point! I’ll admit my guy didn’t quite cut it the way I envisioned it, and partially that might be due to the fact that i gave a slightly off angled picture of my last cut, but I was a little surprised that it looked shorter than I was used to and the top looked off angle(I got a short undercut). After I restyled it myself though, I got it to go the way it was supposed to. I was also turned away from the mirror the whole time when I had my hair cut so that also made me a bit uneasy. Overall, looking at everyone else’s hair at the end they all looked real fly and I could definitely tell they have the skill. I know many people who were in the waiting room saying it was their regular go to.

My most recent visit to Status was for my son, however I also got recommended by the owner to see the«asian guy», that he was«awesome». My son usually sees Mo when we come to Victoria, he’s awesome! I was reluctant to have my hair cut because it is a barbershop but I was told by the owner, he was great at women’s hair?! I should have listened to my gut instinct. I asked for a trim because I am growing my hair out and he proceeded to butcher my hair, pulling it all forward from the back and cutting it at bang length. When I told him he was cutting too much, he rudely said, «I know what I’m doing». I asked to be turned facing the mirror so I could see what he was doing and he refused. I then told him to stop cutting, he kept making excuses and begged me to let him finish the job. I said, he had done enough damage and I wanted to leave, I was left with a bowl cut or mullet! What makes this worse is I contacted the owner to tell him how upset and unhappy I was with the stylist he had recommended, I was ignored for a week. Surprised by being ignored I wrote him again saying that I was shocked he had not responded to a customer complaint. Especially considering how quickly he had responded to my positive experience months before about one of his guys. He was more than speedy in thanking me for my feedback. He wrote me back saying«babe, I apologize, I’ve been so busy». Call me after 8:30pm and we can talk. Unprofessional to say the least and I still have not had any call back to assure me he has dealt with the situation. It’s easy to respond to the good comments, it take an ethical businessman to respond professionally when there are complaints, you can’t ignore your clients, it will catch up on you. Spend your time troubleshooting and your business will flourish. I gave you many chances to respond but you chose not to, this was by far my last resort but important to let others know they nay face the same issues. I WILL be back to Status but only to see MO, I will write my review on him next, he is outstanding, fun and professional at what he does and he listens!
