We had a delightful time eating at the Docks! Thr docks is a sea side restaurant with a great atmosphere! This place is great for family outing or date night with your love one or with a stranger. The menu is tremendous and cant go wrong with any options. I had the big hook up and several friends got the surf and turf options. It was so much food that we all got food coma. Everything was cooked perfectly and the sauces/dips were simply amazing. The only con in this restaurant is that the price is a little much. I know that seafood is expensive, but itll be nice to cater a little to the middle class folks who cant afford 20 dollar meals. So if you are eating here, prepare to spend a few dough. Nonetheless, I would recommend the restaurant hamds down. The service, ambiance and food itself was great. Its worthwhile returning and recommending to other friends! Cheerios!

I wasn’t blow away my first time at The Docks but ended up back there after discovering they’d hired a new chef. Well … what a difference a chef makes. Extremely well-prepared halibut and prawns. I was informed that this was the first dish created from the new chef … I look forward to tasting what else he comes up with.

Great location… really good service. Our server was slammed with 4 new tables one right after the other… she never caught up but that was managements fault for letting that happen and not helping her out! The seafood was exceptional… the steak not so much. Would go back, just wouldn’t order the steak. The crab and shrimp dip(in a bread bowl) was really good.

We just had dinner and saw a mouse running in the dining room area. We were fine with that being on the water and all. After a few minutes we saw 3 or 4 more and we couldn’t finish our meal. The waitress apologized and covered our one drink each that we had but didn’t take off our meals which we lost our appetite and couldn’t finish. Pretty disappointed how it was handled.

This place is a solid three-star joint: nice patio, above-average service, but quite pricey. The view is outstanding. I had the Wild BC Salmon Wellington and would highly recommend it: the salmon was baked medium rare(which made me apprehensive, at first) and the phyllo pastry was just crispy enough. On a more critical day, I would call the presentation somewhat underwhelming. However, I can’t hold back about my glass of Red Rooster chardonnay: it was puny and highway robbery at ten bucks. What’s more, this restaurant badly needs to update its stemware. Any establishment in this price range should serve wine in Riedel or its equivalent. In the final analysis, I would go back for the view and buck-a-shuck oysters. Downer alert: after getting comfy in our seats on the patio, we were informed that the buck-a-shuck deal is available only to those seated in the oyster-bar portion of the restaurant.

They have oyster buck a shuck here all day every day. On Fridays, it’s 50 cent per oyster. Which is a bit too low … ??

Came here because it had good reviews on Google and because I was craving oyster shooter. The service was great, our waiter was friendly. The food was ok nothing too special, ordered a stuffed cod, it lacked flavor. Ordered a combo plate with a bunch of fried food, calamari, salmon, shrimp, etc with a bunch of dipping sauce. It was better than the stuffed cod. Will still give it another go next time I’m in Victoria.

Great location, if you can get a patio spot you will thoroughly enjoy your time there! Beautiful views of the mountains, water, and the legislature! Great drink menu and friendly staff!

Expensive for what you get. Service was excellent and staff was very welcoming. We had the lobster and shrimp sandwich and the seafood steamer pot. The steamer pot was loaded and the broth was really good. It was definitely a good meal, but was a bit over priced. The sandwich was basically a pile of filling on a standard dinner roll. It came with a very small dish of fries. Mine was good, the other was ok. Did I say pricy? Would have maybe rated them higher if the price was about $ 5 lower … And then my wife pointed out that in the end, she got a dinner roll and I got a «buy at a store» cheese stick with my pot … Sort of shows that they cheap out a bit. Note that they do a survey at the end, which I was maybe too nice with … Blame my wife as she made her point after we left.

We were hesitant to come here based on some of the other reviews, but decided to brave it for happy hour oysters .50 each. And a glass of wine. The oysters were super, granted not the best ever but a nice selection and tasty and fresh. We decided to continue with another glass of wine as the sun set and the city lit up around us on the bay, we ordered the mushrooms Neptune which were fabulous but for the store bought cheese stick delivery system, which was more tacky than unappetizing… it was delicious. Finally we tried the Wild Salmon Mango salad to share, and we were blown out of the water! The salmon was perfectly done, incredibly seasoned and the salad dressed perfectly for flavour without drowning in an overwhelmed dressing light crisp flavourful balanced. Excellent. We finished our experience with the deep dish apple pie which is really a traditional apple crumble, perfect to share. I ordered a port to accompany, it was out, and they offered a substitute… Perfect. No complaints here, our server was a delight, attentive yet not over barring and professional. We’ll be back. The atmosphere can not be beat.

I was looking for a good place eat when I arrived in Victoria. I happen to come across this restaurant because it caught my eye. The service was really good. The food was great. I ordered the big chowder and the crab cake sliders. The chowder was in a bread bowl. The bread was toasted in butter to add some great flavor. The sliders came with homemade potato chips! I was satisfied after having these two items. I recommend this restaurant. #SeñorFood

While searching for a good place to eat, this place popped up. Unilocal community wasn’t a huge fan of this place but they had thanksgiving turkey special which instantly caught my hubby’s attention and we decided to give this place a try despite less than stellar review. And are we glad we did. Their food was fantastic. We shared a plate of calamari which was one of the best I have had in awhile. I had their lobster roll. Honestly, it wasn’t best I have had. While the portion seemed generous, I found it difficult to eat because of the shape of the roll. My hubby had their thanksgiving dinner which he was very satisfied with. My sister had their steak. It was the dinner we were all happy with and I am glad we decided to we gave this place a chance. We will be back.

Good place for drinks and bites on a sunny afternoon My friends from Victoria took me to this place on a sunny Sunday afternoon and we had the best table on the patio. It is absolutely amazing. It was sunny and breezy, and the food is quite refreshing. I had the salmon mango salad, mango was a bit on the raw side, it almost tasted like pineapple texture-wise. Portions are quite big, you will definitely be full after eating there. The service was a bit slow in my opinion, but it was a sunny sunday after all, everyone was just enjoying it. I would give this place a thumbs up!

Visited Sat Aug 1 for lunch/dinner party of 4. The guy outside was promoting their $ 3 lagers, we thought awesome let’s go in for a drink. We were seated on the lovely outdoor patio with an amazing view of the water. We asked the server for the $ 3 lagers and she says they are only available inside. I have never heard of a restaurant that offers different drinks and pricing based on where you sit. We promptly moved inside and ordered the drink special. The place was fairly busy. We had a nice view near the open window. We ordered the Calamari — tasted ok, portion a bit small. Crab Dip — not worth $ 10. It was 15 nachos and a small bowl of dip, the dip tasted good though. Oysters — tasted fresh. Many of the servers look beautiful, doesn’t make up for the odd drink rules. I emailed the restaurant directly with my concerns, next reviewer let me know if they change their happy hour drink special pricing strategy. Damage $ 45 plus tip. I wouldn’t come back again unless they allowed the happy hour drink special in all parts of the restaurant.

Locals know to avoid it — tourists should too. Possibly one of the best locations in town, but the view can’t save this sinking ship. The cuisine is decidedly pub style, focusing largely on seafood deep fried so thoroughly that you’d not really sure if you’re eating halibut or styrofoam. Prices are very steep, and the quality of the food does not reflect the premium paid. A «Roasted BC Salmon filet» runs $ 29 and the«Seasonal Feature(frozen at sea) Lobster Tails» cost you $ 40. Doesn’t it seem a bit strange that a «local» seafood restaurant pushes lobster tails which were caught and frozen more than 7000 km away? Any idea why adding prawns to your dish results in tiger prawns imported from a ditch in Thailand, rather than using the delicious local prawns? The food isn’t local — it’s cheap, it’s frozen, and it’s overpriced. My very favourite part of this dining delight is being seated on the outdoor patio, near the large stairway. Directly above the restaurant’s dumpster, and where the staff seems to take their smoke breaks. The aroma of hot garbage simmering in the summer sunshine mingles so deliciously well with cigarette smoke. Bleh. Go someplace — ANYPLACE — else. Victoria is FULL of quality seafood restaurants that are better worth your time.

Great location. We were seated at the back deck with a fantastic views of the bay. A bit too sunny but enjoyed the good weather. Servers were all wonderful, friendly. I always get a kick hearing Canadian accent with the«eh» at the end :) The food… was great! Server recommended the special which she called the«halibut one» :) My girlfriends and I laughed at that then ordered it for each of us. We loved it! Firm white fish with yummy mango chutney on top over a bed of mashed potatoes, been beans, and carrots. We’ll definitely eat here again the next time we’re in Victoria.

I’m giving The Docks 3 stars only because of the hostesses & bar, my dining experience was a 2 star experience if not lower. Drinks were delicious & well made. Food was greasy, under seasoned & nothing spectacular. Were there a total of 2 hours mostly waiting on our food with poor service from our waitress. She blamed the long wait time on the Seafood platter some one ordered, all of which was deep fried so you can’t tell me it took the kitchen an hour to deep fry some seafood & onion rings. Skip the food. Go to the bar for tasty cocktails & attentive service.
