The White Peony

This place is the absolute best. Not only do they provide an amazing range of super modern and ‘eco-​chique” dresses, they ladies that own/​run the shop are clearly doing what they’re meant to do! I had the most amazing experience with both sisters, each of whom helped me on two separate days that I was in trying on dresses.
I never once felt an ounce of pressure to purchase a gown, and they both made me feel like I had all the time in the world to choose my dress. It was so nice not to feel rushed! Once I found my dress they even popped a bottle of champagne for my mum and I, so sweet.
I went to all the bridal stores in Victoria, visiting here last, and it truly was the best.
If you want an incredible dress buying experience, go to White Peony, you won’t regret it. :)

I originally came from Vancouver specifically to see the Anna Campbell line, which The White Peony carries (only one in BC). My experience here was absolutely perfect from the very pleasant phone call to book the appointment to finding my dress. This was my 4^th dress shopping experience and was by far the best. I would recommend anyone looking for a positive and ideal dress shopping experience to make the trip and skip the stores in New Westminster and Vancouver. After my previous visits elsewhere I was feeling very deflated about finding a dress that I would love on myself (not to mention being a street size 8 and for some reason other stores stocking their sample gowns in a street size 4 — someone tell me the logic in that!). Gown prices are within a reasonable range for most brides ($ 2000+) The White Peony had many sample gowns that fit me, I don’t recall one that I couldn’t get in. Immediately after trying a few Anna Campbell gowns (although gorgeous) I realized they were not the right style for me (so sad) and I moved on into other designers. The shop owner who was assisting me in the appointment allowed me to take as many pictures as I wanted and my mom and I were very thankful for that. I was lucky enough to try on a sample gown that not only became «the one» but also was on sale. My entire visit was very relaxed and I never felt that I was rushed even towards the end of the appointment as the next showed up. I want to thank you for giving me such excellent attention and service during my fitting, I recommend you to everyone looking for a wedding gown!

I had an exceptional experience at The White Peony bridal boutique. I was visiting Victoria for the weekend, and popped into to have a quick look with my sister. I wanted to try on every dress I saw and the price range was reasonable for me (the majority fall between $ 1900-​$ 2400). I knew I wanted to try gowns on here and lucky for me, they had one spot available the next day. I booked the appointment and came back with my sister and her two kids, both of who were welcomed and treated well during my fitting. One of the sisters who own the charming White Peony, Trish, was my consultant. We started by chatting briefly about what kind of dress I saw myself wearing and my wedding venue, which was very similar to the store with its high ceilings, exposed brick and vintage chandelier. The store is beautiful, it is well maintained and clean and the sample dresses are in great condition.
I selected a six dresses that looked interesting and started trying them on. Trish was warm, thoughtful and accommodating. She listened to the things I liked about each dress I tried on. She was honest and said that I didn’t need to try on one of the samples I had selected as she thought it wouldn’t be right for me. She suggested that I try one more dress from the designer who made the dress I like the most, Truvelle. If you don’t know the line look! The designer is 22, from Vancouver and is extremely talented.
I loved the dress Trish recommended, it incorporated everything I liked about all the dress I had tried on. She listened to what I wanted, knew her dress selection and knew what would look nice on me. I got unexpectedly emotional when I knew the dress was ‘the one.’ Trish was genuinely happy and excited. It was so easy for me to say yes after the amazing experience. I can’t wait to have it in a few months!
I would recommend anyone to go to The White Peony to look for their dress and or wedding accessories.

I got engaged in 2013, with a wedding date in 2014, so in the fall of 2013 I went dress shopping. TWP was new-​ish at the time to the dress scene in Victoria, but I’d heard great things about them, and even seen some of the dresses they sell at a bridal show, so I didn’t hesitate to book an appointment with Trish when the time came.
I first went looking at dresses with my bestie/​bridesmaid, where Trish kindly and warmly assisted me during my appointment. I was open to trying on a variety of dresses, but being a curvier girl it was sometimes difficult to fit the samples. I ended up really loving the line of dresses from Robert Bullock Bridal, and initially thought I would end up with a simple, sweetheart-​necklined strapless lace number. However, I wanted to have «that moment» with my parents, and since they were out of town, I wanted to return with them.
Once again, Trish provided exemplary service in pulling some of my favourites and some of my parents’ favourites. Ironically, I ended up going with a much different Robert Bullock gown (with straps! V-​neck! Swarovski crystals! a train!), adding a jeweled belt.
Shopping at TWP is a penultimate bridal experience — they procure a beautiful selection of quality gowns (not the cookie cutter gowns you find at more mainstream bridal stores), and their attention to you as a customer really puts the icing on the proverbial cake.
