It’s really nice and spacious in here, and there’s a really friendly server. I loved the food as well, but it’s good to know that the rice is often served with raisins mixed in, just in case you don’t like them.

This was my first real try at Indian cuisine. It was fabulous !!! I had the butter chicken and tried the korma chicken also fabulous. The service was friendly, quick and food was served quickly. Would highly recommend, if we weren’t headed back to California tomorrow we would be going back for more.!!

Food wasn’t bad, service was nice. The restrooms were not clean though, and FYI dimming the lights only makes it look more disgusting when they’re not clean.

We had a lovely lunch here before heading out to explore the pretty city of Victoria. We were a group of 9 people so it was pretty much a party — all starving after an hour and more ferry ride to the island. The server was a sweet lady who chatted with us and told us about popular dishes. We started out with the Tandoori mix grill platter as appetizer and ordered goat curry, paneer tikka, vegetable pilau, tandoori fish and naan. Hands down the best dish was the fragrant goat curry — meat was tender and the curry was a delicious mix of coconut and spices. The mix grill tray was quite yum and the rest of the good was also done well. We walked in quite skeptically because of the western outlook of the restaurant and doubted that we might not get a legit experience but were proven wrong. Def stop by for delicious Indian food if in the area :)

Very good, I don’t care for curry but this place won me over. My husband said it was one of the best butter chicken he’s had in a long while.

Super expensive. Disappointing Indian fare in Victoria . Chicken Manchurian avoid at all costs. Chicken Biryani avoid unless your are dying of hunger . If you are new to Indian food you should try some other restaurant, you might dislike Indian food altogether.

Our second visit here and the food was fantastic again. Great service and the six of us were all happy with our food. Easily the best Indian food on the island and we’ll be going back again. Soon.

Zaffran is ok, but it needs improvement. Everything is very, very salty. Dishes don’t stand out enough from one another. The servers are attentive and nice(and I like their orange traditional outfits). But the food needs to be improved to bring Indian food-lovers like me back. It’s also a little odd that they’ve set up a gift shop right in the window spot, where some of the best seats used to be.

I can’t believe that I went to such a disaster place where I throw almost $ 60 in a Dustbin. 1)The place looks good in terms of ambience. 2) In terms of food, ho it’s just a nightmare I ask the waitress that chicken biryani was oven cooked or just a curry rice, she answers me no sir we don’t do the curry rice unlike other restaurants. But when I saw the food in my table it clearly shows that it is a curry rice. 3) I ordered chilli chicken, I got curry chicken. 4)I don’t think the chef knows how to cook the real Indian food. He just know how to prepare the same gravy for all curries including the biryani with a crushed canned tomato. Ha ha a 5) I can’t give a single star to the restaurant, but Unilocal is not allowing me to give at least a star. If you are really hungry try other places but don’t waste your money here.

Food is excellent. We had chicken biryani and coconut chicken curry with basmati rice. Gluten free naan available, which tastes like fried dough and has the consistency of bread that I have been missing since being gluten free. It’s phenomenal. The service could be better, but overall an attentive and friendly staff. Portions are very generous. Can’t wait to try more dishes … And their desserts too!
