Wonderful place to enjoy fresh water beach. Everything is accessible, water is clean not too deep. perfect place if you want to enjoy either with family or with friends.

Wasaga is my favourite Toronto beach considering the drive. When I’m craving a nice sandy fresh water beach with clean water this is my go-to. The drive, especially the last leg, is beautiful too. The water is warm and there are many beaches to choose from. I usually just wanna get wet so I just go to the nearest one as I drive into the area. The parking was a little expensive but ended up being worth it because it was so close to the beach. The park staff was patrolling the beach with ATV’s and it looked like they were quite competent. The last couple trips were weekday getaways when I just wanted to ‘get up early, drive like hell and sleep on the beach’ so I’m not sure what it’s like there on a hot summer weekend.

World’s longest freshwater beach — so there’s a lot of sand and water. Gradual slope into the water, so good for kids not drowning. Parking is expensive and the beach is crowded and noisy. If you’ve always wanted to see Jersey Shore lite then this beach on a summer weekend is for you.

This beach is very dirty and crowded. I am so disappointed to see how polluted the beach had become. The only time I stop by is when I go up to my resort and want a funnel cake. Funnel tunnel is the place to go for a nice sweet dessert. Other than that, I try to avoid wasaga.

Great spot. We usually try to go once a year. We don’t fit in with the party crowds, so we never go on a long weekend, sometimes we even go during the week. Best time to go is right between(but NOTON) May 24 weekend and July 1st. It has been updated a lot in the last 2 years, with many beach shops, a great candy shop with things from your childhood and around the world, and a specialty head shop with great selection, all with reasonable prices. They have new places to eat opened up, and lots of your usual stores and fast food joints a short drive or manageable walk away.(Walmart, Tim Horton’s, Harveys, Canadian Tire, etc). Beautiful sandy beach with a boardwalk longer than most would walk. Pet friendly, which is extremely hard to find nowadays. As well as extremely affordable parking.

Nothing special, just a whole lot of drunk teens in an overcrowded, polluted lake. Hardly any food places nearby, sand and water is dirty.

why did no one tell me this was a party beach!!! came here to relax but instead found a bunch of drunk youngins. ruins the vibe a bit. the drunk youngins are hanging out next to young families inexplicably. i just dont get this beach demographic at all. it’s kind of pretty if you walk 15 – 20 minutes away from the drunks&stoners and families and away from all the restos, bars, clubs, fastfood joints they’ve built right on the beach. all that pandering by businesses really destroys the natural beauty of the place. i’m glad i checked it out, but sad that i wont be back

The Wasaga Nordic Centre is an incredible run of flat trails to get your cross-country skiing in! There are trails that run towards the dunes, but those are for far more advance skiers than I am, so I cannot attest to them. Expect nothing from the cafeteria amenities, because, well, there is none! They have a Keurig machine. Bring in your lunch. But rentals are cheap!

Looks like this one is a battle of the wits between locals and big city road trippers. Well, I’m going to stand tall against this because: I’m here to help people spend money & time wisely. So: if you would like shirtless, tanned Floridians(we spotted a Florida license plate here!), mediocre, 1976 fashioned beach town… with 2013 inflated prices… go for it. By all means, get a tattoo under a party bar while looking out on the lakefront. This may be your bag, so go, but I’m warning you: if this was a charming resort town in 1956, it’s derelict in its duty to keep up with the times. It’s not charming.

Don’t let the beautiful photo of a sprawling white sand beach fool you. Wasaga is the devil’s playground. Do I mean this in a Vegas or NOLA debaucherous way? No. I mean after centuries of spell-casting Lucifer finally got his way in southern Ontario. The apocalypse is now in Wasaga, and bro zombies have taken over this hell on earth. Wasaga looks like Smalltown, Florida, only somehow hit harder by the recession… of the early 80s. There are some run down motels, plastic cottages stacked one on top of another, faded pink flamingos on lawns and a couple of bars. The bars serve everything in red solo cups and have signage reminding patrons«No Weapons.» This signage seems silly as you’re in Canada near wealthy cottage country, but then you look over and realize the person next to you isn’t in a shirt or shoes, yet is indeed getting service. Perhaps he does have a knife hidden in his Hawaiian printed board shorts. Run. Get back in your(hopefully bulletproof) car and head towards Collingwood for lunch or any other beautiful less-populated beach around here. PEPPERPLEADS: Save yourself.
