I don’t normally eat at fast food burger joints; maybe once a year. Well, tonight was one of those nights It was 8:00 p.m., we hadn’t had dinner and there was no food in the house. So, we thought we’d grab a burger at the new A&W around the corner. The place wasn’t busy. Three customers on one side of the counter, 5 clerks behind the counter and several more in the kitchen. Two of the customers were just waiting for their food, and the other one was waiting for coffee to brew. Not being familiar with the menu, we spent a few minutes deciding what we wanted. An Uncle burger for me, and a Mushroom Mozza for the spouse. Well, we wanted to place an order. We waited and waited. Nobody behind the counter made eye-contact with us. The lady waiting for the coffee then decided she also wanted a hot-dog. We waited and waited. The clerks behind the counter milled around. There seemed to be a lot of confusion and training going on in the kitchen. I started grumbling about not getting served. My wife said we could have made an omelet at home in less time. So we left. And we made an omlet. I don’t think anybody behind the counter even noticed.
