I’ve had Thai curries in Toronto and even Thailand, but nothing beats the Thai curries here. The coconut sticky rice is really good too.

I’m giving this place 5 stars solely on their pad thai as I haven’t tried out their other menus. This is my go-to place for takeout pad thai in Waterloo. Although it may seem pricey, portions are huge! I usually order 3 pad thais to go for my family of 5 and that’s plenty. A word of caution, if you ask to make it spicy they will make it extremely spicy(as in you may have stomach aches spicy). I usually find it’s perfect when I order one regular and one spicy and mix them together. With regards to dining in, I’ve only dined in once for a work-related event but found the service to be amicable.

Pad Thai is good, Thai fried rice is mediocre(nothing special, wouldn’t order it again)

Admist all the clamour in Uptown Waterloo, this restaurant doesn’t stand out. But, I’d say this place is definitely a hidden gem. It’s difficult to find an authentic thai food place here in Waterloo without venturing far, but this is top notch. I came here as a group of 4 on a Sunday night. The crowd was decently sized. The tables at the front of the restaurant(less than 10) were almost all occupied and, as larger groups came in after us, the waiters directed them towards the back where I assume there’s more seating. I got the Tom Yum Soup with Tiger shrimp to start. The taste was good, not overpoweringly sour or spicy which is hard to find. For $ 5.59 there was a decent amount of shrimp; maybe 4 or 5. I do think Northern Thai had a better soup though, but this is definitely comparable in terms of taste. We ordered the Pad Thai, the Emerald Curry with chicken, the Panang Curry and the Seafood Noodles. The pad thai was good, large portions and great flavour. Loved the tofu and nuts. They ask if you want rice to accompany the curries. Keep in mind that they dont tell you rice is not included in the price of the curries.(it’s an extra $ 2.00). The Emerald Curry I find was a bit lacking. The portion sizes were small, the chicken was overdone and there was a lot of vegetables in it. I feel like the flavours were decent, a very sweet type of curry. My friend ordered the Panang Curry, she said it was good but I didnt get a chance to try it. The seafood noodles were surprisingly very tasty. I didnt know what to expect when I ordered it. The noodles were the same as the ones they used in the pad thai; thin and bouncy. It had the right amount of spicy sauce which made it moist but not soggy. I can eat fairly spicy but these noodles definitely have some heat. It was topped with a large variety of seafood; shrimp, bits of fish, squid, and even some scallops! They also had some bell peppers, beans, and bak choy. I find this restaurant pricy. For what you pay, you’d probably expect more(especially for the curry). The noodles were decently priced. However, both chicken curries were $ 13.95 each so you’d expect rice to be included, but disappointing that it wasnt. Service was mediocre. Our server seemed a little impatient and slightly snappy. But the other waitresses were very friendly. Wish we could have had them instead! Overall still a solid thai restaurant. Pricy but the location is good. This will satisfy that authentic Thai food craving and definitely keep you wanting to go back.

I love this place! Have been going for years and years. Customer service is excellent. They will accommodate you based on your dietary restrictions and make the dishes as Delicious. One of My favourite dish is seafood spicy noodles! When you eat here, you leave satisfied and never feeling over stuffed. Great fresh food I can’t wait to go back!

I went here last night with a group of four and, overall, we had a pretty enjoyable experience. The first thing I noticed was the décor. The place looked very nice! The pad thai I had was good. My friend ordered the pineapple chicken and said she didn’t like hers, which was unfortunate, but I was happy with what I got. Our other friend got one of the curries – I think it was the lime? – and he said it was delicious. The great thing about this restaurant is that it had a decent gluten free and vegetarian menu, which suited the dietary needs of our group well so we didn’t have to worry about who couldn’t eat what. The reason I gave four stars instead of five is because I was not impressed with the service at all. The waitress didn’t seem too friendly and she barely came to see us. I don’t care too much about service when I go out to eat, so it didn’t really affect my overall experience.

Emerald curry with chicken is my favourite on the menu. Also try the Thai spring rolls – excellent, but if you really want to wow yourself get them with peanut sauce instead. Yummy. We go here more than we probably should, given the cost, but good food is sometimes worth it.

Looks underwhelming from the outside. Classy and clean inside. Good, flavorful food. And surprisingly affordable. Planning to return.

Their curry dishes are pretty standard and good quality, we love the emerald curry chicken. Four flamed fish is another special dish I recently discovered here, though the portions are quite small. I had the thai iced tea on one occasion — it is delicious. Probably the best I’ve had because many other places like to dump the sugar in. This one was at the perfect sweetness level. After coming here a number of times though, the service has been consistently meh. We’ve had a server who was attentive though had a bit of an attitude when coming with smaller groups(2 to 3) when it wasn’t too busy. When we came with a group of 8 for a Sunday dinner, the service started slowing down as the restaurant started getting packed. It’s a bit harder to get the waitress’ attention when seated in the back area. The menu items are extremely pricey compared to other Thai places. Expect to pay around $ 13 – 16 for a normal Thai curry or pad thai dish, especially if you want to order rice on the side. The four flamed fish that I mentioned about is a whopping $ 17, and I recently found out you can get a higher quality and larger portion four flamed fish at Northern Thai in Kitchener for only $ 12, a huge price difference. Their décor and ambience are nice, but that doesn’t justify the high prices, especially when the service is just satisfactory.

I had both the Emerald curry and pad thai. Curry was tasty and pad thai was amazing. Definitely try the pad thai here!

Better than the pervious time, but it wasn’t that busy. The shrimp tasted frozen and the chicken was dry and over cooked and the tofu was a bit hard as well. But I looked hot the noodles were made. My friends had ordered the cashew chicken and commented that her chicken was cooked the same way. Overall better service and food than last time, but not fantastic either.

So far the best Thai we could find in this area, not necessarily cheapest but not bad for the portion and as ‘exotic cuisine’ in KW

The quality of food was great. Spring rolls very good, Cashew chicken, emerald chicken; all enjoyed! $ 13 a plate is pricey. Add to that small portions, makes it a one time visit for me.

We went here for lunch one day. Can’t remember the meal being overly memorable(ha) but I do remember the restaurant area we were seated in being really empty. I think they could make the atmosphere better by keeping people a little closer together. Will go back to review the food!

Reasonably authentic for Waterloo cuisine. The interior décor is quite nice, makes me feel like I’m in a 3-star Thai hotel in the 90’s. Service was sufficient, although I feel like they prefer serving high rollers rather than poor college kids. More profit, I guess.

Not the best Thai restaurant, but not the absolute worst either. The ambiance is nice — clean and well decorated. I ordered the pad see ew, one of my favourite Thai dishes. Again, it wasn’t the best and overly sugared, but it was filling and had a decent noodle to meat/veggie ratio. All three of us kept chugging water though, so I think it contained some MSG or too much salt. I went with my friend, who ordered a pad thai. She is horribly allergic to peanuts and she let them know while she was ordering. She didn’t have a reaction so that’s always a good sign! While they weren’t the most attentive, the servers got the job done. Everything was served in the plastic dishware you’d find at all you can eat sushi restaurants though, so that cheapened the experience a bit. I’ve only been there once and it just never stood out to me to go back again. The prices are a little much for what you really get, but that tends to be the general trend for KW, in comparison to Toronto/Richmond Hill/Markham.

Very good, slightly upscale Thai restaurant. The wine selection was decent though on the small side, but what they did have went well with the food. The appetizer sampler was quite delicious, especially the coconut shrimp and surprisingly, the calamari. The coconut chicken soup was also a standout and some of the best I’ve had at a Thai restaurant. The emerald curry, one of the most popular dishes, was nice and spicy, non spicy version available, and very filling. The sauce was excellent and almost soup like. I didn’t like that I had to order rice on the sode though.

This year this was mine and my girlfriends favourite spot to go! It is actually a deceivingly large restaurant so seating is never an issue. The staff are always friendly especially when you are going there twice a week haha. The only dish I have gotten from there is the Emerald Chicken Curry which is a green curry, and coconut based curry dish. I have only gotten this because it is soo good I afraid to get anything else. My girlfriend gets the cashew chick curry and she loves that. Overall great place to get some good thai food and you should definitely give this place a try!

Nothing better than finding a hidden spot off the beaten path. A recent venture to Waterloo for a reunion of old University friends brought brought us here for our group dinner. We entered off of King Street and were a little remiss about the lack of seating in the front of house, however, don’t judge this spot by its front, after checking in with the server/hostess we were led around back where a cornucopia of seating was available. Seats and tables everywhere and well spaced out to boot! While some previous reviews made mention of a «tacky» décor, I would have to strongly disagree and even argue that I feel they were just looking for something wrong. I think the correct word to describe this would be simple, elegant with tasteful splashes of Thai cultural items(Buddha’s, gold statues, drapery, pottery). It wasn’t in my face and looked fine to me. Enough about the trivial and unimportant though, lets take a look at the key fixture here, the food! To begin, one of my friends and I decided to share the Mango Salad. This dish has recently become a personal fav of mine when dining Thai as the marriage of sweet/spicy chili sauce, mixed with the saltiness of the peanuts and the sweet flavour of the mangoes is the best way to start«MYTHAI» experience! My onyl critique would be that the mangoes were a touch under ripe, but not to the point where it hurt the dish — I just like my mangoes a little softer :) Next up I requested and order of their Coconut shrimp for the table to share. Only one word describes this dish — AMAZING. Huge portion of 6 X-large shrimp. I’ve never come across value like this. Served hot and with a side of sweet chili sauce — Excellent — Highly Recommend! Finally, as I bordered the fine line between hungry and gluttonous, I ordered my main course. The emerald curry with chicken, which I requested be made extra spicy. The veggies and chicken were cooked beautifully and served in ample curry sauce. Poured over my white rice I was full in minutes but decided — waste not want not and polished the bowl clean. All the while enjoying my food I partook and in house cocktail special to this locationI had their Thai One On cocktail. Similar to a mojito nicer taste smoother and STRONG! Awesome spot check it out
