Decided to check out Star Wok since the Chen’s Buffet place closed down. First off, this place is not meant to be a sit down restaurant. I mean they don’t even have proper plates for crying out loud! They have paper plates, and plastic utensils. The tables weren’t even that clean. The entire kitchen looks messy and not clean.
We decided to go for lunch and their lunch menu is pretty reasonable when it comes to price. We ended up up getting a General Tso’s chicken, lemon chicken, and chicken Lo Mein noodles. The food was below par with the General Tso chicken, just being a little better.
Honestly, it’s not the best place to get food at unless you have no other options. Even then, make see you only do take out for dinner. Not sure if I’d go back.

I’ve been ordering from star wok for years & I’ve never really been disappointed until tonight. When i called to place a delivery the lady on the phone kept trying to persuade me to come in for pick up instead. Since its a 15 minute walk I decided to get some exercise & go pick it up. I ordered the cantonese chow mein (chicken, shrimp, pork & veggies) When i got home i opened it & it was more vegetables then meat but the worst part was more then half the noodles were raw. Ive never had chow mein before but I’m pretty sure the noodles need to be cooked. It did come with a side of rice though, so i was able to snack on that while i cooked my noodles. I’ve never had any other problems with this place so i don’t think i will stop going, but i was disappointed that my first chow mein kind of sucked

The food is honestly terrible. I don’t even know how you can make fake Chinese food made, but they’ve done it. I love eating fake Chinese food and no matter how bad the quality, I’ve usually enjoyed it. But this is so much worse. I expected something ManchuWok or PandaExpress (which I like), but the food here is like this, but somehow made worse.

I have gone twice afterwork, only to find out they have closed early. If your sign says open till 10pm you should stay open till 10pm.

This is Canadian-​Chinese take-​out at it’s best. The food here is consistently fast and fresh tasting.
We have visited Star Wok 3 times now and have noticed that they use fresh vegetables in all the dishes we’ve tried, and leave them nice and crisp (instead of mushy) which makes a huge difference in the quality of the food. Our favourite dishes so far are the Cantonese Chow Mein and the Sesame Chicken and we were quite pleased as well with the Cheese & Crab Wontons (aka. Cheese Rangoons). Portions are generous and pricing is about average (or slightly lower) than most other take-​out Chinese places with most dishes ranging from $ 7.00 to $ 12.00.
There are tables available inside the shop which are always clean and welcoming. If dining-​in, the employees will bring your food to the table in the take-​out dishes and you can request lids afterwards for transporting home any leftovers.
Washrooms are available. They were clean and serviceable when we were there.
