Had some Chana Masala from the truck at Riotfest. This is not a traditional taste for a masala, this was a tad sweet; I was expecting something closer to what I would find in an Indian restaurant, savory and a lot of spice, not necessarily heat. Having said that, the taste was good, although I wouldn’t order it again unless it was the only choice of something I would like. Given the ingredients I thought that the serving could have been a little bigger for $ 10. It was a little overpriced, rice and chi chi beans don’t cost much. My biggest issue was the rice. This trend of using regular long grain rice in food trucks/stands is maddening. If an Asian/Indian style dish is being served, it should be made with the appropriate rice. Basmati in this case. If it was basmati I would have understood the cost for the serving size a little more as it is more expensive. Overall this was the meal I would have chosen again at Riotfest, but that is only because I felt that the other meals were a Meh. I think this could have been a 4 star if the portion was a little bigger and a better rice was used.

This restaurant was a big hit at the Home County Music & Art Festival last summer in London, Ontario. However, their cheque bounced. We have reached out to them to pay it, received a promise to do so last year and nothing since. It’s a shame that a restaurant so loved by its patrons has such skeevy business practices. But then again, they presume that their patrons will never hear about this side of their business. But now you do.

Love Deana and Mia! If you want home cooked food, fresh made pastries by locals who produce it all themselves, this is your lunch spot. Order anything. I promise it’s good.
