Small hole in the wall restaurant, but very clean, awesome staff, and by far the best sushi I’ve had in Kelowna/Westbank

We came because of the high ratings in Unilocal and we are not disappointed =) The food is delicious and the waitresses are friendly. The door was a little bit hard to find though(maybe just because a truck blocked our way when we arrive).

Hubby actually surprised me by walking in the door with a big bag ‘o sushi the other day. Made big points! Anyways, everything was as great as ever. Even tried a stirfry this time and we totally enjoyed it! Two of our favourites are the Super Crunch Roll, which is a crispy California Roll topped with teriyaki and spicy mayo, and the Deluxe Dynamite Roll. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Every time I have been there the food has been great. The service is good and quick. Price point is good also. It’s a great place for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is plain and simple. If you are trying to be romantic, maybe not the place for you. Needs to be updated and new chairs for sure. The décor is the only reason not a Five star.

When you crave authentic Japanese food, like I was, you want the real thing. I was craving delectable silky and crunchy Gyoza, light and tasty teriyaki, fresh tempura, and a mouthful of mind numbing happiness in the form of Maki rolls. Rolls so good you hate to even let them near Soya Sauce. With a list so long how could I find that in Kelowna? Well I found it all! West Sakura made me smile the second I walked in the door. Cool modern décor, clean, and the smell! The smell of fresh tasty food prepared from scratch. I can think of nothing better to do than sit at the sushi bar, sip sake and watch them roll fresh maki right before your eyes! I enjoyed everything I had so much, I want to go back and try more. Namely the Spider Rolls! Soft shell crab Maki is the thing of dreams. And if the scrumptious Volcano rolls I had are any sign, they will be amazing!

The staff was very friendly, but sorry to say my husband and I were not impressed with the rolls we ordered for lunch today. The Philadelphia roll was made with crackers and asparagus. The rice was not fresh. In the end we will not be be going back.

You must try Volcano roll ! My most favorite roll here ! For more than a year studying and living in Kelowna, I have to say that this restaurant is the best sushi spot in Kelowna and West Kelowna as well ! Their food is so fresh and just so good . Chefs and staffs are so nice ! I love this restaurant !!!

Visited again last night… a very busy Friday! The place was packed and it seems service levels were a little thin. One table who had ordered before us left when we got our order first. We did have quite a wait but when our order arrived it was plate-lickin’ yummy! Tried the heart attack roll and the volcano roll! Outstanding! The Valentino might be our new favorite!

We came here as a recommendation from a neighbour, and hallelujah! I think we have finally found our sushi spot! The sashimi was fresh and delicious. We had the superwoman roll with seared scallop on top and I would have to say it is one of the best rolls I have ever tried. The place is very small and I probably would never have gone in had it not been for a reco. They went out of their way to accommodate my daughter by giving her rice paper instead of seaweed on her california roll. They suggested it, which was very nice. The service was prompt. This is our new spot! It was a breath of fresh air in a sea of mediocre sushi restaurants in Kelowna and West Kelowna. I just can’t wait to get back there and try more rolls! It is definitely on par with the sushi we were used to having in Vancouver. Thank the lord, because I really wasn’t sure if I could survive here without my sushi.

Tried some takeout from here last night and it was top notch. I had a BC roll and tried their«Ogopogo» roll. The BC roll was done the way I like, with just salmon and no «crab» filler. The Ogopogo was really good too, and was large enough that the two rolls were enough to fill me up. What impressed me more was that my wife made a special request for a roll made with tamago, which was not on their menu(they had other things made with tamago, but not a roll), and they were happy to do it. They even gave her options she wasn’t expecting like whether she’d like the rice on the inside or outside, and whether she’d like avacado in it as well, which she declined but appreciated. While we were sitting at the sushi bar waiting, the chef asked how much I like wasabi so he could know how much to put on my Ogopogo roll, which I also appreciated. These few simple but unexpected things made the experience probably the best we’ve had at a sushi place. While the restaurant itself isn’t as elaborate as some of the other places I’ve been, the service was fantastic, and the sushi tasted great.

Excellent food, very friendly service, family run, very clean. We tried it one night and went right back the second, we would have gone the third but they are closed on Mondays.

Clean, friendly, fresh. The ‘bento box’ dinner is a bargain. A good variety, a generous amount, and the tempura was served nice and hot. The teriyaki sauce was a low point, unfortunately — closer to brown gravy than the zesty flavor I’d expect, but the gyoza dipping sauce was rewardingly good. I was going to say 3-stars, but then for this price it’s really pretty good.
