I saw this reviewed on the front page of Unilocal and decided to give it a try as part of my 100 coffee shops in 52 weeks challenge. I came here when one of my girlfriends was getting married near by and instead of going all the way home and then back again for the reception I decided to chill and have some coffee and a pastry. Great atmosphere, ample seating, decent selection of pastries. My late was made to order. Prices were very decent and the barista was friendly.

Boy has this place changed. While the quality is still very good, they make it hard to be a customer here. They stop serving coffee at 1pm(handwritten sign at the cashier), even though they’re open until 4. You also have to ask for milk/cream as they won’t put it on the bar anymore(it’s behind the counter). Same for napkins. You’d think they would try harder to get customers, as there are several coffee shops within a block or two.

An artistic 3.75 stars for décor. Reminds me of a bit industrial but let you be the judge. Client recommended meeting here and while there’s plenty of seating, quite noisy with the sound traveling. Yet, it is indeed date worthy, something nicer than Starbucks. Loses a star because they close early daily, 4 pm. But that’s a sign of someone who values family time ;)

It was overpriced. A brownie and a San pellegrino was 6 $. The brownie wasn’t very good, there was no icing but I liked that there were chocolate chips in it

This is my favourite coffee bar on the North Shore. The coffee is superb, the goodies incredible, and the service is warm and welcoming. I can’t understand why it isn’t as busy as the other coffee bars in the Ambleside area, because this place is superior in every way.

This is absolutely our favorite place on the North Shore. As a self confessed coffee snob I am always complaining(quietly to my wife) about the poor excuses of an Espresso that so many places serve up. Here the staff are completely dedicated to creating the perfect drink and deliver it in such a welcoming and friendly way. Try the pecan-pumpkin slice which is so delicious.

I absolutely love this place! Their coffee is AMAZING — best latte I’ve ever had — creamy and smooth, like a liquid dessert. They serve 49th Parallel coffee, which is my favorite. They take real pride in creating and serving their coffee properly. I’m addicted! The food is amazing as well — they have awesome, delicious, healthy options. My favorite is their energy bars made with all natural ingredients and sweetened with dates instead of sugar. Yum, so good! The service is impeccable, they are friendly and laid back, and will bring your coffee to your table, which is really nice. The only reason I haven’t given them a full 5 stars is unfortunately their chairs are horribly uncomfortable. They’re beautiful, wooden, Scandinavian-type chairs, but they’re hard on the back.(Sit on their padded benches instead). This won’t dissuade me from going back tho — I’m a true fan!

Come on, you know you love it. The sublime interior, the gleaming Mirage. Bright, spacious seating… And serving 49th Parallel. It’s also another home of that banana bread everyone’s talking about. @itstodie4 Yeah, that’s the one.
