Five Star Brow Bar

I’m never going back. I had my face/​eyebrows threaded, initially I was pleased at the hair removal, they did a good job with it. Although I told her not to touch my brows and she insisted on cleaning them up for me, which was irritating because I don’t like my eyebrows too thin. She advised me not to touch my face because of bacteria getting into the pores after hair removal, which makes sense. However, I had just worked out previously, therefore there was already bacteria on my face. She didn’t even clean my face with a wipe, or anything at all prior to the treatment, even though it was clear I had previously worked out. This is something I did not think about in my day (I’ve never gotten my face or eyebrows threaded before either), but I would expect a professional to take all the precautions necessary for a beauty treatment, especially on the face. I ended up going from perfectly clear skin, to red, irritated breakouts all over my face for about a week. Very unhappy with the outcome, and still want to get my money back.

I loved my experience there. I’ve never done eyebrow threading and I will admit that I was very skeptical of the process, but when I went into the Five Star Brow Bar the workers were very friendly and the atmosphere was happy and peaceful. The woman who threaded my eye brows was very sweet. When she was finished, which only took a few minutes, I was shocked, in a good way by the results. She did not take take too much off, which is exactly what I requested, and she made my eye brows look very even, and defined; she also preserved my natural shape, which I requested. I then got my eye lashes dyed… I didn’t even know that was a thing, prior to coming here, but I saw it on the list of options and I’m so glad I did it. I have long lashes, but my lashed are blonde, so they often look almost invisible. The girl did an amazing job. Overall I left this spa feeling so beautiful and confident. No regrets in coming here. I woke-​up the next morning and looked in the mirror… even happier with the results. I definitely recommend trying it.

Solid 3.5 stars… but a pricier level at $ 14 but that’s OK, Noosh sold me on the 10 minute temple facial massage. Ears too.

As much as they change their location constantly, I have to say that I love this brow place and will likely stick with them for a long time until I can find something closer to me. I have to give it a five because the consultation of your brow shape is included and they give you helpful advice! The lady is lovely and she remembers her customers and their preferred brow shapes which is really nice. The brow threading is $ 14 itself. Their new location is in North van and their studio is a lot better than the previous temporary one. Recommend.

Not sure about this location but their North vancouver branch on Marine Dr. is simply HORRIBLE! My eyebrows were so thin (and different on each side) at the end of the treatment despite the fact that I told her I like my eyebrows thick at least 3 times.

Are you kidding me? Five Star Brow Bar is more like a Zero Star Brow Bar.
I take great pride in my eyebrows and like to maintain clean eyebrows but after a few weeks of no tweezing, I decided to check out this place to get my eyebrows cleaned up professionally. Sadly, this brow bar was not in any way professional. I should’ve walked out when I saw the sad state of eyebrows on the ladies that work here. First of all, there is no consultation whatsoever. They don’t ask you what kind of shape you want or how thick or thin you want your eyebrows. They ask you to sit, slide down the chair and put your feet up on the ledge so that your neck is resting uncomfortably on the edge of the chair that has no support for your neck. After about 5 minutes, she mumbled that she was done. I was not given a hand mirror to look at. Instead, I had to get up from the chair, lean into the mirror on the wall and then realize that she did such a crappy job of cleaning up my eyebrows that there was hair in spots that weren’t threaded properly. The worst part was that my eyebrows were unevenly threaded so that my left was thinner than my right eyebrow!!! How could they call it a brow bar if they can’t properly thread eyebrows???
They charge $ 12 for threading eyebrows. Yes, this is cheaper than some other places but don’t waste your time or money trying this place out. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
