We tried Barg and Chicken kabob. Barg was just ok but the chicken was way too oily. The salad dressing was some awful pinkish concussion(I think had ketchup in it!!). Tadig and Ghaymeh stew were good. The restaurant was completely empty with awful florescent lights that made for a very poor ambiance. The worse was the service though. Being the only table, we sat for 15 minutes before getting empty glasses and a pitcher of water. After we got our food, nobody came to our table even once to ask how the food was and if we needed anything. There are so much better options in North Van both in qualify, service and price. Don’t waste your money on this establishment.

Great, friendly, and fast service of very delicious foods. I tried the Baghali Polo, the Joojeh Kabob, the Barg Kabob, and the Koobideh Kabob, Ghormeh Sabzi, and Doogh, and all were delicious! Be sure to ask for onions and lemons for a more full experience!

I’ve been twice to Laziz and ordered for take away on both occasions. The food is excellent. Generous portions. Each kabob platter will easily feed two people. The quality of the beef and chicken is excellent. I love the rice as well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I’ve been placing my orders over the phone for pick up. I’m definitely coming back again!

Not sure when, but the restaurant has changed names to Laziz. Food was OK but atmosphere is very basic. They have a large TV at the back of the restaurant that was showing odd TV shows.

Chenjeh was good. Koobideh was just ok. A little burnt in fact. Constant tv noise from the kitchen was annoying.

It’s hard to find a good Persian place in this town so I always have to cross the bridge to satisfy my craving for good Chicken Kebob, that’s tender and comes garnished with Saffron. After a long walk from Lonsdale Quey, my friend who’d visited this place before recommended to check it out for a late lunch. The décor is Persian royalty meets the west coast, so it gives it a friendly ambience; good for a family outing or a large group of friends. The owners seem to be a family with a young kid, who was painting at a table and are very friendly. Our server was very friendly and the service was fast. We started off with the Shallot yogurt accompanied with flat bread for dipping. The yogurt was thick and the shallot wasn’t overpowering. For my main I ordered the Chicken kebob, that was tender and cooked to perfection. I’ll definitely visit this place again the next time I cross the bridge.

Wonderful joojeh kabab; their rice is also very well prepared and tasty while not being oily at the same time, which cannot be said about a lot of other places. A great choice for takeout as well.

I came here with two Persian friends after a long hike, and was completely impressed. I’ve never had Persian food before, but from my experience here I’m certainly a fan of it. We had a good variety of food, including two stews and three different kebabs. We started with Doogh, a salted-yogurt drink with crushed mint leaves(this one was not carbonated). It was… different. I was more than happy to try it, but it certainly isn’t my cup of tea! One of our Persian friends was crazy about this stuff, he finished almost two pitchers on his own. We started with an eggplant dip — blended and mixed with some stirfied shallots, it was a great appetizer to the dinner. We were also served a traditional plate of parsley greens, sliced radishes, and raw onions, which you apparently also eat with bread. We also ordered some salted yogurt with ground shallots to mix in with our stews. The saffron rice was delicious, and the stews were very flavourful. I loved the sweetness of the Ghormeh Sabzi and the slight tanginess of the Ghemeh. Both come with beef. The portions were perfect for our group of four, we were completely stuffed. The Jujeh(Chicken) Kebab is tender and delicious here — topped with some lemon juice, it is probably the winner of the night. We also had the Kubideh(ground meat) Kebab and the Barg Kebab is soft and flavourful. It comes with roasted tomatoes, which in itself is pretty cool. Tomatoes! Roasted! Yes, I’m a total newb to Persian food. Overall, it was an amazing meal. The food was delicious, the place is very comfortable, modern and clean. The owner is very friendly and came by several times to make sure we were happy with the food and service. The bill came up to just over $ 80 for the four of us, so it was very reasonably priced for a filling dinner(after a long day of hiking, no less). A great introduction to Persian food!
