I came here at the same time to look at flip flops somewhere else for Coachella(reviewed that place) and decided to look at swim suit options. I had already checked out the Metrotown location but when in Rome, I decided to just check out my options here. Sadly there is very little for a very curvy lady like myself in the one piece department. I had better luck at Metrotown. As for the flip flops they were a bit too $$$ for something that would’ve been very temporary.

Things must’ve changed here, guess they have to be more relevant during the off summer months. A lot more men’s stuff than thought, and some heavy names too: Billabong, Quicksilver and of course, Nike. Some really new high tech DriFit shorts that dry easily after a dip in the pool. That’ll be handy when going Hawaii in a few months :). $ 74, yikes… Amex good, so’s the service.

I went in to browse today and after twice politely asking the sales lady if I could please be left alone to browse she became offended that I didn’t want to chat with her and told me that I can’t just randomly try on suits without her help because«we can’t have people trying on a hundred suits and putting them back.» She was so rude and refused to leave me alone and it made me uncomfortable so I left and got some great pieces at The Bay. Attentive service crosses the line when a customer politely asks to be left alone and continues to be harassed.

There’s a lot of body hate out there, and I don’t have a single woman identified friend who doesn’t feel it. Swimsuit shopping can be a prelude to meltdown for many. With that in mind, I took my spouse there to seek a swimsuit as her old one had lost its elasticity. Just as the teeth gnashing and tears happened… Diane appeared and saved us. She sized my wife up quickly, and only picked suits that matched her torso length and specialized sizing needs. Diane is a pro I tell ya! Instead of trying on item after item and leaving in despair, my wife walked out of the store with a well-fit swimsuit that made her look GOOD. Only star off due to pricing… but really, the value of the experience was priceless. When I next need to get a suit, I’ll be heading there. *Diane works at the 4th Ave store regularly FYI*
