After telling my kids for years how amazing the croissants were in Montréal(as compared to those in our home city of Seattle), we fell into this café with high hopes… and we left very disappointed. Yes, the café was clean and the staff nice. And it’s true, my café au lait was wonderful. But the croissants we got were stale: a little hard and chewy, totally NOT flaky at all. We get better croissants at our local Safeway — and that says a lot, as they’re lousy there.(Luckily, I redeemed myself with my kids the next day, going to a real patisserie on Sherbrooke which had wonderful croissants). On a positive note, my youngest kid said her hot chocolate here was«one of the best» she ever had«in her life», with the best real whipped cream, too.

Classic 2nd Cup Atmosphere: Given that it’s on Greene Ave., there quite an English feel to the place. It’s well kept, tidy, and quite cosy Service: I’ve never had bad service here. Was never given any reason to complain either. Food: Standard 2nd Cup menu — however, if you’re in the neighbourhood and have a nagging sweet tooth, stop by this place. I’ve found that their deserts are much fresher, and better made, that other franchises. Their carrot cake & red velvet cupcakes hit the stop every time.
