Ummmm. What is not to like? We got into town and all the BC Government Liquor stores were closed, it was Sunday. We wanted to get a few libations for our hotel room. We got in, settled in a bit, went to the closest store that was attached to a liquor store, and it was after 6pm(the one in the Village) and we were out of luck. Except who ever is brilliant over at Nester’s has a girl parked out front in a chair, with maps to Nesters, which is open til 11pm, and DELIVERS til 10pm for $ 5. Whhhaaaaattttt??? Awesome. We went over there after dinner, got some wine, some beer, some vodka, prices were not cheap, but I did not feel that they took full advantage of the situation and completely screw you over on prices since they kind of have a monopoly on it. Could be worse, and when the BC Store is closed… your other option is to pay drink by drink in a bar, which is not cheaper, right? Although we did a lot of that… actually over-bought and brought home a bottle of wine and left ½ the bottle of vodka for the housekeeping staff… we didn’t hang in the hotel that much really. Eyes bigger than stomach, or however that relates to drinking alcohol.

I walked in thinking ahhh this will be compared to a state liquor store in the US… boy was I sadly mistaken… stupid American :-) Bought a bottle of Vodka for 43.95 and then thought… hmmmm this can’t be the only liquor store, nope it wasn’t there was a BC Liquor store close to the condo… same bottle of Vodka for 34.95! Again extremely over priced! Go to BC Liquor store!

If ur in whistler and have a car, this liquor store has a great selection. Local restaurants have separate sections with their recommendations. A greet idea. The staff isn’t too expert but the little notes on the bottles r very helpful.
