Went on a brewery tour with our guide Taylor. Enjoyed grilling the Brewers with questions regarding every phase of the brewing process. Had four glasses of beer as part of the tour. My favorite beer was the Snow White IPA unique combination of wheat beer and IPA. Worth adding to your activity list on a rainy day.

This is a small quaint brewery with surprisingly good food options to go with your beer. If the Valley Trail Chestnut ale is still in season, definitely give it a try. Also, I was pretty impressed with their beef brisket wrap. I savored every bite of it.

I saw this booth at the Gluten Free Expo 2016. Not a huge fan of Lager in general, however, for GF Lager it’s actually not too bad, went down reasonably smooth. Friendly people at the booth.

There is a lot of good beer in the Vancouver area and Whistler is some of the best. Plenty of styles to try, a decent amount of seating, and how can you go wrong with a brewery nestled into the mountains. A lot of the breweries in the Vancouver area are making good beer, but have a cold, sterile feel to them. They don’t feel welcoming or like a place you would want to hang out for a long time. Whistler feels very inviting and comfortable. The staff is beyond friendly. I could easily spend all day there. You feel more like you’re hanging out with friends than out at a business.

If I could award 10 stars to Whistler Brewing Co., I would! We were really looking forward to our visit to Whistler Brewing Co., due to the high rating on Unilocal, the glowing recommendations of the bar staff at the Firerock Lounge and due to our experiences with their brews that we had already sampled during our stay to date in Whistler. Seems like every bar and restaurant in Whistlers serves at least several of their brews! We arrived late one afternoon about 5:00 pm and the place was rockin’! They had a DJ «spinning» tunes. So the place is a bit raucous — in a good way. We each ordered an entire flight of brews and then went to sit in the area right by the entrance. Anna — the extremely cool assistant manager of Whistler Brewing Co., brought out our flights and explained them to us. We sampled in the following order: Powder Mountain Lager(American Pale Lager)(5.0% ABV) Bear Paw Honey Lager(American Adjunct Lager)(5.0% ABV) Whiskey Jack Ale(English Pale Ale)(5.0% ABV) Black Tusk Ale(English Dark Mild Ale)(5.0% ABV) Valley Trail Chestnut Ale(5.0% ABV) Grapefruit Ale(5.0% ABV) Big Sky Honey Lager(5.0% ABV) Lost Lake IPA(6.8% ABV) Cheakamus Chai-Maple Ale(5.0% ABV) I’m not typically a fan of lagers — but the Powder Mountain Lager and the Bear Paw Honey Lager were really good — I was surprised at how much I liked both of these. My top three faves of the day were: — Black Tusk Ale: it’s almost like a Cascadian Dark Ale — but not quite. There were definitely some coffee and chocolate nuances present in this Ale. Very good. — Grapefruit Ale: Their web site cites: «dried grapefruit rind along with Sterling and Willamette hops» as the primary ingredients. And WOW does it ever deliver. The result is an astonishingly refreshing grapefruit aromatic with a crisp citrus finish. I almost cheered the first time I drank some of this over at the Firerock Lounge — it’s that good! — Lost Lake IPA: An outstanding IPA! Hoppy, Citrusy, Piney, crisp, bitter finish! Amazing! The only brew I tasted that I did not enjoy was the Cheakamus Chai-Maple Ale. Was to cloyingly sweet for my taste. Anna was an awesome host. She came by several times to check on us, chat for a bit, and retrieve empty glassware. Anna has some amazing plant-based tattoos and she has a gorgeous Swedish accent. We very much enjoyed chatting with her. Check out Whistler Brewing Co., you won’t be disappointed!
