I came across a Good Friday promotion while looking for Windsor events at . I love my fish and chips and the price looked great! It was $ 11.95 for 2 pieces of halibut and chips. I went with my friend and WOW! We didn’t expect the diner to be homey since it was in the CHMA building. When you think medical, you think an average cafeteria of the sort. Well, that’s what I think. Or, thought actually. The golden yellow walls with the blue trim on the ceiling was a breath of fresh air after looking at the plain old white. My friend and I were waiting for an open table and we watched how friendly the staff was. Finally, we were seated by a very friendly lady and a boy who looked like he was barely in high school was our waiter. Oh my goodness! He was polite, friendly, and was a very good waiter! Way better than some of the waiters I’ve encountered(and I eat in restaurants a lot). My friend and I both ordered the halibut dinner and while we waited we looked around some more. We listened to conversations and realized that a lot of the customers were family and friends of the staff. There was even a little girl selling baked goods and donating the money she made to the diner. My friend and I were very impressed by the family feel to this diner. Now, the fish? It was fantastic! The breading was great, the fish was cooked beautifully and flaked wonderfully! The chips(fries), I liked them because they weren’t soggy, over-salted, burnt, etc. They were very tasty! My friend likes her fries crunchy, but she thought they were alright. We didn’t order anything else because only fish was on the menu for the Good Friday promotion but I’d definitely come there again! Note: I managed to talk to a staff member and found out they were sold out of their halibut(160) around 6 p.m. Their fish is really good!
