I was searching the Internet for coffee roasters in the area and found Black Bench’s Facebook site. I decided to check it out last week and I’m glad I did. Fresh coffee aroma in the air; newly roasted beans; great coffee and welcoming company– the traits I look for in an independent coffee roaster. It’s not a place to lounge around since the place is a coffee roaster as oppose to a café, but the funny/quirky ‘mature’ gentleman named, «Grandpa James», who volunteers when the owner is out and about, is a great person to chat with for a few minutes over a fresh brew. I think I may actually go there tomorrow to pick up a bag of beans. If you look for the same traits as I do in a coffee roaster, check it out. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the place as much as I did.

Newer coffee roaster. Primarily for buying beans but you can get coffee and espresso based drinks as well. Keep in mind that this is primarily a coffee roaster so there is no where to sit and linger inside this small shop. Beans are roasted on a small air roaster. This is a one man operation and the owner is quite passionate about coffee. Hours are limited — mainly afternoons on weekdays and on Saturday.
