$ 188 gets you: un-vacuumed floor, hair in tub, pubes on toilet seat, food splatter(hopefully) on lamp shade and ceiling, 18″ x 48″ brown stain on bed box spring(i’m a bed bug checker), white fingerprints all over red wallpapered wall(spidey stayed here last on a bender(apparent debauchery in Windsor), chipped«furniture»(ikea would be insulted by this egregious misuse of the word«furniture»), and a sofa that looked worse than those seen in an extraordinarily busy and well-celebrated frat house. Called front desk immediately. Not a single alternative room available. Given manager name and advised she’d be in following morning. Upon checkout, manager silently reviewed my photos and embarrassingly provided me a sincere apology and promptly offered me a full refund. Thank you for that, Hampton Inn. Other than that, everything was mediocre and… tolerable. Never again at this Hampton but will not entirely give up on the chain.

This is the first time I have stayed on the Hampton Inn and Suites. Staff were wonderful, explained amenities, and free buffett breakfast, gym and pool. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. BUT for $ 159.99 a night, I would at least expect a fridge and microwave in the room. That is what keeps me from ranking this higher.

Back in the day, the options in Windsor were very limited. You could stay at a fairly expensive hotel(like the Hilton) or a dive(like the Ramada) downtown or one of the no-tell motels heading out towards 401. This place helps the image of Windsor. It would be better if it was easier to get back from the bars(as in, near downtown) but it’s cheap, well maintained(still seems new) and quiet at night. P. S. I think that Ramada finally fell into the river and got swept away.
