Horrible super salty food. Chicken tastes like soaked with MSG. . Chicken feather can be spotted on the gross chicken skin. The service is even worse. The owner yelled ‘shut up’ to customers who complain about the taste of food. Worst restaurant in Windsor no doubt. Don’t try this restaurant out no matter u are Canadians or Chinese students. Negative 5 star.

Very bad customer service. They didn’t know that their card machine doesn’t accept visa and they yelled us «you don’t have money to pay». We were very surprised with their reaction because suddenly they started shouting at us and even threatening to call the police. Finally we went to an ATM to get some cash and pay the bill. In addition, the food was terrible… We tried several Asian restaurants around and this one is the worst.

The atmosphere is a little… bare, but the food is decent and the prices as well.

Yet another restaurant takes this location over… Man Yuen looks to take over Wah Kee as the new Chinese restaurant in Sandwich towne. The place has been open for quite some time, but I was slow to write my review. The restaurant has the same décor and look of the old place, but comes under new management and a slightly revised menu. It offers up your Authentic Chinese dishes along with some of the Americanized ones to boot. The service is friendly and lack a bit of English, which is nice… We ordered the Salt and Pepper Prawns and Chilled Chicken w/Chinese crullers. The Salt and Pepper Prawns come with the head on completely as they should. They are lightly dusted with flour and deep fried til their skin is crispy. The shell stays on and usually has all the flavor encrusted onto it. I’m allergic to shrimp, but it doesn’t stop me from sucking on the shell and the heads of the prawns to get all the juice and insides out. The shrimp were large and the meat inside was pretty good. I usually stop eating after a couple before the allergies flare up. The Chilled Chicken is a Chinese delicacy that comes… well…chilled. It’s steamed chicken that they let cool and then refigerate for a bit.(They obviously don’t refridgerate long or the skin would«jell» up. The steamed chicken is always tasty as it comes with a good bit of salty seasoning and some five spice and ginger sauce. The portion size was great, but the chicken was a bit dry with the skin being overly salty and the meat being a bit bland. It comes accompanied by Chinese crullers, which are those greasy fried dough sticks that you’ll see at Asian groceries or Congee houses(Google it if you still don’t know). The crullers are great but I don’t see how they fit with the Chicken. I shouldn’t complain though as I do love me some crullers. Overall good meal, but I couldn’t help wondering why Wah Kee closed. I thought it was a pretty popular place, even with the Chinese and Western crowd. But alas, restaurants are falling by the wayside in Windsor. This place is good, but I thought the old place was better. I’ll be sure to come back and try many of the other things they have on the menu.
