This was the absolute best chicken shawarma of my life! I can’t recommend this place enough times. My Airbnb host suggested this place saying they often have live belly dancers during weekend nights. What a fun and delicious place!

My favourite Middle Eastern food in Windsor. A little pricier(not too much though) but so worth it. The shish kabob and shish tawouk are the winners. Fresh bread is great and should be a leading example to other Middle Eastern restaurants!(I’m looking at you Windsor Palace)

I’m absolutely in love with this place. My favourite dish is the shish kabob with their amazing spicy rice. I get it medium rare and devour it in 5 mins. They also have lunch specials on the weekdays. Same stuff on dinner menu come with smaller portions for less, with fattoush salad and hummus. Bread is out of this world. I make sure I get my 2000 calories of my day from that hummus and bread. Too good!

This review is based on my experience during lunch specials. In order to fully experience what Mazaar offers, I strongly suggest you to skip their lunch and just go for dinner. Even though the price during lunch seems to be reasonable, the food was just OK. The dinning room looks plushy and gorgeous even in the afternoon but I can imagine how grand and sparkly it looks in the evening. With only 1 waitress and a lunch crowd, everything just felt so rushed. Or maybe I was in a rush myself too. Though love those freshly baked mini pita bread! Definitely would come back for dinner next time I am in town. But for now, it is a 3 star in my book!

Amazing is really the only word to describe this little gem in Windsor, ON. The food was incredible and fresh & the service was stellar! The server was incredible and super attentive. Our glasses were never empty and the amount of food we had on our table would have fed an army. Try the Fatoosh salad! Baba Ganoosh was creamy and delish & the garlic dip is to die for! Usually I have to ask for cucumbers at Middle Eastern restaurants, because of gluten issues, so imagine my surprise when they brought me a plate of GF pita! Decent wine selection to boot. I will DEFINITELY be back — this is food I will remember and crave!

Words cant describe their spicy chicken over rice! Pita was freshly baked and delicious, however hummus was average. Nice décor too!

Do not get delivery! Food was cold and they charge $ 7.50 for delivery without telling you. Their excuse was they use a second party delivery service. Would be nice if they told you before the food arrived.

This place is stunning inside. The waterfall over the wine cellar, high ceiling, and décor. I wanted to impress my lady and points for me. We opted for the BBQ for 2 for 45, which isn’t bad at all considering we are at 1.28 exchange rate. The meal comes with fresh hot bread(had two bowls, which seems to be cooked as needed), Fatoush with Feta, and skewered Chicken and beef with Biryani rice. Too much for us to eat was was really good. Fresh and the meal is timed really well so we don’t neglect anything. Our waitress, Sam, offered us the 7 dollar martini special and we jumped. Mango and a dirty right here please. I spent a great deal of time trying to get on the internet because we have a Unilocal check in free desert but I can’t get on. No big deal. Sam says we’ll take care of you. The desert is chocolate and wafer rolls with a bunch of other stuff going on that is cut into pieces almost like sausage. It wasn’t sweet but sweet enough and we devoured it. I can’t wait to come back for the every component of this place.

We had decided to introduce ourselves to the Lebanese cuisine while in Canada in the Windsor area. Mazaar turned out to be the perfect way to do it. This restaurant was busy on a Saturday night when our party of four was seated. The service was excellent throughout our stay. Our server was attentive to our requests and was very knowledgeable of the items on the menu. We ordered Chicken on a bed of Biryani rice and the Lamb Shank as dinner entrees. The Chicken was prepared perfectly to our tastes with full flavor and spices. It tasted delicious. The Lamb Shank was also served on a bed of rice however with its own batch of spices and it was extremely delicious. The appetizer items were very good however the authentic tastes of the dinner items completely blew us away. Great introduction to the Lebanese cuisine and will continue to frequent it in the future.

I upgraded my one star to a three because I LOVE the food. I have also had a really awesome server… but I have also experienced some of the rudest as well.

The food was good but not great. It’s not authentic shawarma and the hummus was just ok. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is nice. They were very short staffed. There were only two servers to handle the inside and outside so service was VERY slow. It took forever to get the check and then another 15 minutes for her to come back so we could pay! There are three other Greek places within two blocks that I will definitely try before I come back to this place.

Went here for dinner last night and I was very impressed. When we walked in we were asked for a reservation, and even though we didn’t have one, they were able to find a table for my friend and I in under 10 minutes. We had their Lebanese egg rolls as an appetizer, and they were amazing, hands down the best tzatziki sauce I’ve ever had(and I’ve had a lot) My duo kabob combo was amazing, as was my friend’s spinach chicken. They would have gotten 5 stars from me, except our waitress paid us almost no attention, and it was 20 minutes between appetizers and entrees.

I have lived in Ottawa, Toronto and Dubai. I have visited Beirut and know what authentic Lebanese cuisine tastes like. I have also tasted Lebanese food across the world. Mostly, Lebanese immigrants don’t do Lebanese food well. But this place KILLS it. I ordered the hummus, taboleh, Fatoosh, falafel, mixed grills and my date shared with me. I expected a few more skewers than the two I got for the price we paid, but what the hell. The food was great. We love this place and can’t wait to be back. Somewhat overpriced.

We ate like Kings! The fresh made pitas were absolutely divine… and the more you eat, the more they will bring you. The falafel was the best I’ve ever had. We had the family-style plate with the chicken and steak and words cannot describe how flavorful and tender it was. The restaurant was a tad loud, but you could still have a conversation without raising your voice. Older children might enjoy the food, but my younger kids would not have enjoyed the experience, but that’s not a knock on the restaurant. And this review would not be complete without mentioning the Chocolate Mazaar. In a word: mostdeliciousdessertyoucouldeverhaveyouhavetoorderit!

Fresh and delicious Lebanese fare. I enjoyed falafel(fried lentil ball), hummus(chick pea based dip), sambussik(meat pies).

Had Duo BBQ platter and the appetizers were the best part of our experience. The fattoush salad and hummus were amazing, the hot bread was also a plus(can ask for free refills). The beryani rice was a bit disappointing and the shish tawook and shish tenderloin were delicious as expected. As for the service, we used a groupon for our meal and the waitress forgot to give us utensils until 10 minutes after she brought us our appetizers. The check-in free chocolate mazaar on the Unilocal page is not valid anymore, and they charge you for the feta cheese on the salad(which we were not aware of until the bill came). The environment is business-casual and they have music and belly dancers in the background. From the outside it seems like a dark, quiet restaurant but it was pretty busy and lively when we arrived. We had to wait about 10minutes when there were plenty of open seats though. Otherwise this is a good find in Windsor!

I’ve had dinner at Mazaars a few times now, and it has never disappointed. We usually do the two dine thing off the menu, which includes a bunch of things. Love the hummus, garlick is awesome, and the fresh pita bread is the best in the city for me so far. Tip: watch out for Groupons… usually a good deal if your dinning for 2 or 4. Even if you don’t us the groupon by the exipiry, the amount paid can still be used at the restaurant on any visit.

On a trip to Windsor, an employee at a local winery I visited recommended Mazaar to me. I took her advice and went in to Mazaar on a Friday night after circling and some questionably legal traffic moves to find parking — cut your losses and park at the riverfront. I didn’t have a reservation since it was just me dining, but when I walked in, the hostess essentially refused to seat me since they had«a lot of reservations tonight» and suggested I sit at the bar. One problem. Every seat at the bar was occupied, and it looked like folks were just getting started. I stood awkwardly near the bar, waiting to stake out a bar stool, when my own personal savior, a waiter named Scott, appeared to take pity on me and asked if I was waiting for a table. I sort of mumbled that I was waiting for a seat at the bar since they wouldn’t give me a table and he said, «I have a free table in my section. It’s right next to the door but if you want to sit there, I’d be happy to seat you.» I took him up on the offer, even though the table was by the door(it was cold outside, ’nuff said), it was an open table and he was wiling to seat me immediately. The guy’s a saint, so I wanted to make sure I gave Scott recognition here for his kindness and mercy on an American girl just wanting some delicious food! I ordered the Spicy Chicken entrée since it sounded very curry-like, and Scott asked if I wanted an appetizer. I thought«sure, why not?» and ordered the small hummus. Best decision ever. The hummus was not very remarkable as far as hummus goes — it was hummus. But the PITABREAD. Good lord, it’s the pita bread that Jesus would eat. Served piping hot straight from the oven, buttery and with some kind of spice palate that I don’t even know what it is(seriously the things even just SMELL amazing and unlike any other pita I’ve ever had before). Anyway, enough about the pita(just get something that has pita served with it). The Spicy Chicken, as expected, was very curry-like, but less heavy. Drizzled with yogurt and spices, it was, as advertised, spicy and very delicious. Portions were big, but not out of control big. At the end of the meal, I had hummus left over, and Saint Scott got me a container to take the remaining hummus back to my hotel and packed in a bag for me about 6FRESH pita breads. Seriously. Saint. Overall, I was very impressed by Mazaar. Host stand is not the best, but the service I received from my waiter was pretty out of this world. The food was also crazy delicious. I’ll likely hit it up the next time I’m in Windsor again. But maybe next time I’ll make a reservation.

Windsor, you are so spoiled to have this restaurant at these prices. Mazaar is the best Lebanese food I’ve had in my home town of Windsor. I’ve heard some people prefer Tabbouli, which is also good, but not me. The platters are a real treat because they allow you to try a variety of foods for a very reasonable price. We like to order one and add to it, but just the platter is usually enough and allows you to stay comfortably below $ 30/person. Upon ordering you will be brought hot, puffed-up pitas from the oven, which you can break open(carefully, they’re hot!) to release a cloud of steam and start digging in to their outstanding hummus. I always order their fattoush because it’s just delightful — I once made my own that tasted almost the same and there was great rejoicing. I dream of the cheese sambussik and raw kibbi from Mazaar when I’m in Ottawa. If you’re feeling hungry enough or there are enough of you(probably at least four, more easily with six), order the Mazaar Feast — what a spread! With two people the vegetarian platter is just about exactly the right amount of food and with the duo BBQ platter you will definitely bring home leftovers. I’m not a huge fan of chocolate, so I always ordered the baklava, but I once got talked into splitting the Chocolate Mazaar. Oh my, it’s good. The baklava is good, too, but the Chocolate Mazaar really steals the show. Sometimes Mazaar features live music and belly dancers who move around between the tables. I think this is great but it does make things rather loud — if you’re hoping to have a good conversation over dinner it might be worth checking to see if this is going on when you’re planning to visit. Basically, this is a really cool place where everything is delicious at a really reasonable price. Ah, now I’m homesick!

For those whom have never been down Windsor way, you will be surprised to discover that this once mighty automotive town is now famous for a different reason — middle eastern food. Yes folks, the people of Windsor have traded in their wrench and production lines for some good old fashioned Tahini and Tabbouleh. While dozens of spots in the Canadian windy city claim to have the best middle eastern food in town, it is Mazaar that rises a head and shoulders above the rest. Modern design and great service make this the classiest place in town to go for dinner. the best surprise(aside from the food) is that the end bill doesn’t reflect the restaurants chic design. Totally affordable at less than $ 70 w/wine for 2 people. Being that Mazaar is located at the corner of Park and Ouelette(a mere 30 second walk from my apartment when I lived in town), I made this a regular«I don’t feel like cooking tonight» and«I wanna impress a cute girl with my foodie knowledge» spot. Always a winner! Every meal at Mazaar begins with their freshly made puffy pitas. Baked fresh with every order, they are hot, light, tiny and give off the faintest aroma of cinnamon. Ordering your appetizer is a snap here, there are plenty of delicious options but the one MUST have is the Hummus, quite possible the best you will have this side of the Gaza strip — unreal! If you are feeling like a baller I recommend you go the extra step and get the Hummus with the beef added — little more pricey BUT … *drools*, ya its THAT good. Moving through the dinner the next order of business is to take down your main course. Not as easy as the previous course as each of my favorites here are all Blue Ribbon winners in my book — perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Here are my personal favs, that no visit should be without trying: — Shish Kebab — Never seen bigger hunks of beef on a skewer, cooked to your specifications. Tender, Juicy, MWAH!!! — Shish Tawook — Same as above, beautifully seasoned chicken. YUMM-O — Lamb — No introduction needed — Mixed Grill — all of the above PLUS Kafta(ground beef on a skewer and BBQ’d) This place also has 2 X– factors which I feel are the cherry on top. XF#1 — Live middle eastern instrumental music XF#2 — Baklava Stop here for lunch or dinner, any time of year — you won’t be disappointed!
