Used to be an amazing place. All the food is served on cafeteria trays now, so any picture featuring it on plates is old and can’t be trusted. The food standards have gone down and the staff are strangers. The old staff used to care. I won’t be going back.

Such a great place! The food is delicious, the prices reasonable considering it’s a pub. Staff is really friendly. Only complaint I have is that you can barely hear yourself talk because of how loud it gets once the bands start playing. Other than that it’s one of my favourite places to go especially when a big soccer game is happening.

Go for the fish and chip or hot wings. Good spot to catch a game old English pub décor.

Best Poutine Ever. My boyfriend and I stopped in here between a wedding and a reception. We ordered the poutine and a couple of glasses of wine to share. ITWASAMAZING. We ordered the one with gravy, cheese curds and BBQ pulled pork on top of it. If I’m ever in windsor, I’ll be back.

Awesome burgers and fries. Crossed the border to meet a few Canadian friends for lunch. They suggested The Manchester and I’m glad they did. It was pretty quiet at 1pm on a Tuesday but that was fine with us. Our waitress, Debbie, was cool and friendly. She told us they had $ 8.99 burgers and fries for the Tuesday special. Each weekday they feature a different drink or food special. There were like 5 or 6 burger choices and they were all good. I had the lamburger with spinach, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, and feta cheese. Yummy yummy. The burgers are huge, juicy, and flavorful. They other burgers included the Manchester which had all the usual burger fixing including cheese and a Sir something or other which had bacon and blue cheese. We all left stuffed and happy. Definitely would recommend The Manchester as a cool place to meet friends, have a drink, and watch a soccer game(it is own by Brits after all). Actually they had quite a bit of Detroit Tigers memorabilia on the walls so I’m assuming they air Tigers games when they are playing.

This place totally made my night in Windsor. I was here on a Thursday, it wasn’t super busy, a nice amount of people. Very nice, cozy pub atmosphere, excellent selection of beers on tap(including many Ontario craft beers), and super friendly and efficient service. I only had appetizers but one of my companions ate and he said the food was delicious. A very solid place. Highly recommend if you are looking for a casual dinner or a laid back place to have some pints.

We weren’t planning on having a late lunch here but the place we had chose first unexpectedly closed early. Too bad for them, but lucky for us because we found this place! I guess you could classify it as a dive bar, but one that you instantly feel comfortable in when you walk through the door. Having never been, we asked to see a menu at the door and instantly saw lots of yummy choices. We were told to pick whatever table we wanted, as it was late afternoon and it wasn’t too busy. Finding a table near the window, I asked where the restrooms were. Always a scary thing in a bar, but rest assured, they were clean! I had a delicious, sweet tasting hard cider — Somersby. Very refreshing. We weren’t looking for a big meal because we had reservations later that day so we opted to split a sandwich and upgraded to sweet potato fries(I’m totally on a sweet potato fries kick right now). We went for the Stg. Pepper’s Club and it totally hit the spot. Chicken, bacon swiss cheese on a baguette — really, what’s not to love. I really enjoyed the dipping sauce with the fries, it wasn’t the usual sweet cinnamon sauce, but rather a garlic mayo sauce. If I lived in the neighborhood this joint would quickly become one of my favorite hang out spots!

Good sports bar and beer. It stops then. Do not get the wings. While they have 2 for 1, and 50 different sauces, they were not good. Breaded, the hot wasn’t hot at all, the smoke fire was too hot, and the chicken meat didn’t seem right. Cocktails were terrible, except the Bloody Caesar was good. I had a cosmopolitan and my friend had a greyhound, and both tasted weird — maybe like soap. The french fries were pretty good. The menu actually looked quite good, so maybe the other food is better.

This place is pretty good and reasonably priced. The BLT sandwich I had was one of the best I ever had. Great amount of bacon and the bread was quite good. You get to choose what kind of side you want(fries, side salad, Caesar salad) and I chose the Caesar — excellent choice. That also comes with bacon bits and tastes amazing in all its coldness. There was also a large assortment of beers, both on drought and in bottles. I tried a Canadian IPA I never had before and it tasted musky, almost like a Warsteiner. I wasn’t feeling it.(I think it was the Alexander Keith IPA?) My girlfriend’s IPA was much better. The waitress was nice but a little aloof. She had no idea about the drinks that are served at the bar in which she works. When she was asked about the beers, she gave some generic answer like, «Yep, that’s an India Pale Ale.» Woah, really?! She checked on us once during the meal as well, and the place was not packed at all. So, minus a star for the service. Although, I will say that another server actually gave my G/F a new Caesar salad because the menu never said it had bacon in it and my G/F is a vegetarian. Pretty good food and a solid-sized menu. Lots of TV’s as well, mostly all showing hockey games. Worth a visit and get a sandwich.

Just ate at the Manchester, very good food. Watched the lions lose in OT, so that was no good. Ordered the Manchester burger, very good, small bun though and my food started to come out, but whatever, still delicious. Fair price, only 12 bucks, came with fries that were more seasoned than I would like, but still good. The Menu was weird, 6 food items were removed, but instead of printing new menu’s they just blacked out the item with a permanent marker. Looked really bad and outdated. But really doesn’t matter to me, first thing I noticed though. Good service, great TV’s too. I would gladly eat here again. Drinks were kind of high priced, but not unreasonable. Check this place out.

Greasy, generous pub fare. Friendly, welcoming service. Stopped in for dinner Thursday night Aug 1, 2013. Not much to say. the place is nice, looks and feels like an English pub. Friendly service, very generous servings, and decent prices for the location. Looks like it would be a great place for a group of friends. My only complaint is they didn’t have my husband’s favorite Canadian beer(Labatt’s). This place isn’t quite a 4, because the food could use a little improvement, but the place IS nicer than a 3.

Fun place to go out: don’t bother eating. The crowd can be fun, the staff can be very nice. Both are subject to change on a bad night. On trivia nights, you may lose some hearing, due to the annoyingly self-loving and bad-music-loving host. Or you might enjoy a night out. Give it a shot!

I feel kind of silly seeing as the average stars for all my reviews so far is about 4.5, but The Manchester is a fantastic hang out bar for friends on any night of the week. The atmosphere in The Manchester is exactly what you think it is, old English pub. There is a phone booth in one corner, football club flags hanging from the celling, TVs playing rugby and soccer matches at all times of the day, and a bar that starts at the door and continues to the end of the back wall. Don’t worry, this pub has the liquor to back up its looks. Over 20 domestic and imported beers and a well stocked cabinet, The Manchester has something for any avid drinker. Its a great place to begin the night and then come back to just before last call. They often have live music, usually a solo acoustic act playing all those songs you’ve heard but can remember the name. One downside is that in between acts they will play music, and on the weekend it tends to be louder than anyone in the bar making conversations difficult. Aside from the alcohol, this place also serves a variety of foods for lunch, dinner, and late night munchies. They serve your standard pub food(i.e. wings, kettle chips and nachos) however they do have more sustaining meals and a wide variety of foods labeled«Traditional Pub Fare». Under this heading you can find food items such as shepherds pie, fish and chips, etc. One thing I was surprised to find was a curry and rice dish(although a friend of mine did remind me that India was under British rule in the late 1800s). Needless to say I ordered the curry with chicken and it was just as fantastic as any Asian restaurants I’ve been to in this city. It was a huge portion, big enough for two to share, and decently priced($ 9.99 [dinner] for veggies and rice, $ 3.99 for chicken). All in all a great meal paired nicely with local brew. On a final note, the staff at the Manchester is what really puts it over the top, they’re attentive and friendly and can list off their long list of beers on spot. Great place to relax after work or if you’re just not feeling the club scene but want to be downtown.

Great place to go for a good beer buzz, and to watch European football… Only ever ate the chips and they were pretty good… Have to mention that Walkerville is proudly on tap/$ 5 on Tuesdays — representing Windsor! Service is the best — good bunch of people go there, nobody starts shit…

Really cool pub in Windsor. The Manchester is a nice pub located right on Ouellette(by Wyandotte). The place looks real small on the outside but is endless inside(Kind of like a Japanese competitive eater). The place tries to project England in a good way with British flags, soccer in the background(disgusting), and one of those old school telephone booths right in the dining area. It’s got a giant bar with TV’s all over it. Menu has some nice items as well. Came for the Happy Hour, but not for the beer… for the pub grub. Honey Jack wings and pulled pork sliders together for $ 10! They have a happy hour menu that offers some nice eats for real cheap. When I heard they had Honey Jack Daniel’s Wings, I was in. The wings, though good, were not everything I had imagined. They were crisp and had a much tangier bbq taste as opposed to a strong sweet whiskey taste(Honey Jack is so good…) The sauce was great and wasn’t overly drowning the wings. The pulled pork sliders were really great also. Dinner rolls stuffed with tender pulled pork and coleslaw! I love the addition of coleslaw to the pulled pork, as that’s how we do it in the South. They were big and messy. I’ve been here before for drinks and I love the atmosphere. The place has a cool vibe and doesn’t have that douchey club scene that some other bars around Downtown do. Drinks, food, and sports. Great pub. P. S. — They apparently have viewing parties of the Walking Dead as they stream AMC from being so close to the U.S. I’ll have to check that out when the season comes back.

A British themed pub that doesn’t over do the theme. No women walking around in kilts or fussy interior trappings(I mean in the bar, not interior to the waitresses) It’s kind of a gathering point for whatever hoggy game is going on. I met my Windsor pal to talk economics at The Manchester and to take advantage of the 2-for-1 burger deal. When a hoggy game is on the TV, their regular burger is 2-for-1. The other burgers aren’t. But you get a nice 10 ounce burger and the standard fixin’s plus pretty decent fries. Normally it runs $ 10 but you get two for $ 10. Wow. Five pints of Guinness, 2 burgers, and a plate of fries ran us $ 43 with tax. This place IS loud, mind you. Some drunk idiot stood on the bar for about half an hour singing drunken soccer hooligan songs at the top of his lungs, with only half hearted support from the other drunken idiots at his feet. No one asked him to shut it. I gotta ding them a star for that. Beyond that, if you’re looking for a decent, cheap watering hole in Downtown Windsor that has some character and you don’t want to pay for faux yuppie, The Manchester is a decent choice.
