Hiroba

Visited Hiroba before the Bomber game. Service was friendly and quick. Food was excellent and a great deal… we were stuffed and had leftovers! Shared some tempura and Korean BBQ… yum! A quick walk to the stadium… fantastic! Will be back!

This sushi restaurant is located in the Queen Bee Motel on south Pembina. An odd spot but this place offers up Korean BBQ and sushi. I can’t comment on the Korean BBQ part as I didn’t try that but I know someone who has gone and really enjoyed it. They said the BBQ offered up good quality meats.
The review is only on the take out sushi which I found to be average. There weren’t any real standouts, the price points are comparable to most sushi places in the city. The salmon sashimi was quite fresh tasting and had good flavour so I’d order that again. The rice in the sushi roll was a bit disappointing as it had a tad too much vinegar. Some of the maki sushi rolls broke apart upon picking it up with a chopstick. Not a fan of rolls falling apart. I did enjoy the negi tori maki and this negi tori nigiri which was more like an overstuffed roll than nigiri — a confusing item but very good. The rainbow roll was okay but tasted a bit flat.
Overall, I can’t say I would return for the sushi rolls though I would order sashimi again. I would definitely return here to try out the Korean BBQ since I heard good things about that.
