Really cannot say enough about how amazing my experience was during my first float last night. I have been meditating for about 2 years now and it has made a huge difference in my life. A few months ago I started hearing about float tanks while I was living in Toronto. I waited to actually try it out until I moved back to Winnipeg so have spent weeks and weeks watching Youtube videos and listening to podcasts and interviews of people talking about their experiences. I tried my best to let go of any expectation I had once I got there and was thankfully able to do so for the most part once I got in the tank. If you’ve never tried floating, it really is like nothing else you’ve experienced. You truly feel like you’re floating and once you settle in to the idea that all your senses are completely cut off from any input, it’s the most relaxing and amazing thing. I cannot wait to go back for my 2nd float. This is a must try thing for everyone and I would recommend going for as long as you can afford. I did 90 minutes and would love to do longer. Thought I’d also mention that the facilities themselves are very nice. You don’t need much when you’re doing a float obviously but it was clean, they give you an iPad to swipe through to show you some instructions and then the employee shows you everything you need to know and do. A tip I would mention is that if you have even a tiny cut anywhere on you, cover it in the vaseline they give you on the table. It will help to avoid any bad stinging from the salt and prevent you from getting distracted. Also, don’t touch your face when you get out, spray yourself with the water bottle and then go right into the shower.
