Mitzi’s Chicken Finger Restaurant

Mitzi’s is awesome!
Seriously, what’s not to like? It is a surprisingly charming little restaurant (the interior looks almost like a German restaurant, with white walls and dark wooden beams), frequented by families and the chicken fingers are DELICIOUS!
We were greeted by «Mitzi» herself who was helpful, adorable and hilarious.
It is such a nice atmosphere, the food is great, and it really has the wonderful «homey» feel to it.
I will DEFINITELY be back any time I am coming through Winnipeg!

I guess this place would fall into the category of a Winnipeg Institution… it’s sort of a hole in the wall. I’m pretty sure the décor hasn’t changed since the place first opened but it’s a cozy little place that serves up chicken fingers (made with real chicken meat… not the processed kind from your grocer’s freezer) and Chinese food. Some say that this is the «best chicken finger» place in town and I would agree in my past life when I loved this kind of stuff but my palate has changed a bit. I usually go here because I get dragged by coworkers.
But if you’re a chicken finger fan, this is the place to go. The chicken finger batter is really crisp and flavourful and the meat is really tender. The line ups at this place can be crazy, especially on pay day Friday. The fries reminds me of the McCain crinkle fries… they might be from McCains too. The coleslaw that comes with the chicken finger and fries is a nice tangy contrast to the fried food. I usually get the 5 pc chicken finger meal with salad, it comes to just over $ 10 after tax and it the perfect amount of food for me.
I think it’s only cash and debit here.
